I replaced the primary slave with another drive and the system boots
properly. However, I ran the Western Digital diagnostics on the drive
with which the system wouldn't boot, and it found nothing wrong with it.

[Bug 508919] [NEW] Changing monitor positions in GNOME Display Settings causes display error

2010-01-17 Thread Yonatan Amir
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-control-center

Ubuntu 9.10 Karmic Koala

apt is unable to locate gnome-display-properties for some reason (found
in /usr/bin, runs via System - Administration - Display), and Synaptic
does not show a package by that name.

When enabling an external monitor (Samsung SyncMaster 151s) on an IBM
ThinkPad X41 (docked on X4 UltraBase), then dragging it to the opposite
side of the Laptop screen and clicking Apply, the mouse cursor appears
on one screen, but the system behaves as though it is on the other, i.e.
mouse movement (buttons are highlighted), and mouse clicks are
registered as though the cursor is in the same coordinate on the
opposite monitor.

[Bug 531069] [NEW] Display error when returning from sleep after docking

2010-03-02 Thread Yonatan Amir
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: xorg

After putting X41 to sleep, docking and then resuming with lid closed and
external monitor attached, the external monitor should show a workspace.
Instead, after following the above steps, the display shows only a pointer on a
black background.
Once, the monitor showed:

render error detected, EIR: 0x0010
page table error
PGTBL_ER: 0x0100
[drm:i915_handle_error] *ERROR* EIR stuck: 0x0010, masking
render error detected, EIR: 0x0010
page table error
PGTBL_ER: 0x0100

Upon opening the lid, the built-in monitor is identical sans a thin strip on
the left edge, which apparently shows that portion of the workspace.
Attempting to switch monitors using Fn+F7 has no effect.

[Bug 1244548] Re: Keyboard shortcut for changing keyboard layout does not work on lock and login screen

2014-06-14 Thread Yonatan Amir
Using CapsLock as the shortcut on 14.04, pressing in while in the lock
screen behaves as if it is not defined (classic behaviour).

@Andy -- thanks for the update. I understand that the "auto" line should
be omitted in case of an empty list. Looking forward to seeing the fix.

[Bug 1640109] [NEW] hv_set_ifconfig script parsing fails for certain configuration

2016-11-08 Thread Yonatan Amir
Public bug reported:

When trying to configure DHCP with no IPv6 addresses, a configuration file
similar to the following is generated:
HWADDR=XX:YY:ZZ
DEVICE=eth0
BOOTPROTO=dhcp

When running the hv_set_ifconfig script with this script as an argument, it
fails with the following stderr (stderr is muted, the script must be edited to
retrieve this information, so the line number is offset):
  File "hv_set_ifconfig", line 171, in
output = ["auto "+" ".join(autolist)] + output
NameError: name 'autolist' is not defined

Editing the script so that autolist is defined in all flows resolves the issue
and the script successfully sets the interface to use DHCP

2016-12-05 Thread Yonatan Amir
Joseph,
I can't test this on the mainline kernel without a matching linux-cloud-tools
package. Are there any builds available? I don't have a build environment set
up, so if not, can you build one and make it available?
TIA

[Bug 1646248] WifiSyslog.txt

2016-12-01 Thread Yonatan Amir
apport information

** Attachment added: "WifiSyslog.txt"

https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1646248/+attachment/4785621/+files/WifiSyslog.txt

** Description changed:

When injecting a DHCP configuration from a Hyper-V host using WMI, the IP
address does not change, and the syslog contains the following line:
Failed to execute cmd 'hv_set_ifconfig /var/lib/hyperv/ifcfg-eth0'; error: 2
No such file or directory
the ifcfg-eth0 exists with a modification time identical to the log line's.
Switching the scheduler to noop did not resolve this issue.

[Bug 1643978] Re: hv_set_ifconfig creates corrupt file for multiple interfaces

2016-12-29 Thread Yonatan Amir
I can't test this with the mainline kernel without a matching linux-
cloud-tools build. It does however reproduce with 4.4.0-57-generic. I
forgot to mention in the description that this is when there are
multiple NICs with static IPv4 addresses.
