[Bug 138335] Re: [gutsy] [beta] xubuntu panel pager missing

2008-05-15 Thread skrisman
My Xubuntu 7.10 has the same problem on my Dell Latitude D600. I was
also having a missing panel issue before so i ran xfce4-panel in the
terminal. When i tried to add the pager to the bottom panel, the
xfce4-panel crashed with this error:

Could not open Pager: pager: cannot open shared object file: No such

[Bug 138335] Re: [gutsy] [beta] xubuntu panel pager missing

2009-04-06 Thread skrisman
I have since fixed this bug. My solution was to completely create a new
account on my computer, and switch over my /home/* folder. I still see
an occasional bug not related to this one I believe where the pager
dissappears as i'm switching workspaces. Attempting to add an item to
the pager fixes it though.

[Bug 500533] [NEW] gnome-screenshot exits with BadWindow (X Windows Error)

2009-12-26 Thread skrisman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: gnome-utils

gnome-screenshot exits cleanly with a return code of 01. It prints a
message before it ends however:

The program 'gnome-screenshot' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.
  (Details: serial 4799 error_code 3 request_code 15 minor_code 0)
  (Note to programmers: normally, X errors are reported asynchronously;
   that is, you will receive the error a while after causing it.
   To debug your program, run it with the --sync command line
   option to change this behavior. You can then get a meaningful
   backtrace from your debugger if you break on the gdk_x_error() function.)

To reproduce this bug:
1. $ gnome-screenshot --interactive
2. Click the Grab the current window radio button option
3. Click the Take Screenshot Button.

What should happen:
A window should pop up asking you where you want to save the file.

What happens instead:
gnome-screenshot exits cleanly with a return code of 01. It prints a message
before it ends however:

The program 'gnome-screenshot' received an X Window System error.
This probably reflects a bug in the program.
The error was 'BadWindow (invalid Window parameter)'.

running:

$ gnome-screenshot --interactive --sync

fixes the issue.

[Bug 318043] Re: glGetError causes a segmentation fault

2009-05-30 Thread skrisman
Alright I took a hint from Dima and tried the hardy libGL.so.1. It
worked perfectly. Then i tried the other versions. I tried the jaunty,
jaunty, and karmic, ALL OF THEM WORKED! I'm not really sure what that
means but it fixed the problem for me. I got them from here
http://packages.ubuntu.com/search?keywords=libgl1-mesa-swx11, but i
didn't install, i merely copied libGlL.so.1 into /usr/lib.

This also fixed this bug:

[Bug 370176] [NEW] Failed to load libcanberra-gtk-module.so

2009-04-30 Thread skrisman
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: python-visual

To reproduce this bug follow these steps:

$ python
 from visual import *
 sphere()

The error that will initially spit out is:
Gtk-WARNING **: Failed to load module libcanberra-gtk-module.so:
libcanberra-gtk-module.so: cannot open shared object file: No such file or
directory
visual.primitives.sphere object at 0xb7e05c84

if you try to ctrl-d or ctrl-c out of it you will recieve errors. On top
of that if your using gnome-terminal and you ctrl-c out of the
interpreter the terminal will become unusable. The bug makes it so that
the screen that pops out paints in weird ways and can't be moved without
leaving a ghost screen in its initial place. In addition it always
paints as the top window.

There is no libcanberra-gtk-module.so in /usr/lib but curiously there is
a copy in /usr/lib/gtk-2.0/modules. I tried to create a symbolic link to
that module and I didn't recieve any warning, instead I recieved a
segmentation fault.
