[Bug 225950] Re: [8.04] Drawing evolution window on screen very slow
Issue not fixed by evolution update mentioned above, and I would not like this to be missed. Clarification: Evolution main panel in LTSP client, and email windows generated by double clicking on an email, are painfully slow to draw. There is a perceptible delay of 2-3 seconds before content is formatted, and when switching windows the previous content of the main panel area remains visible again for 2-3 seconds. Such issues are not apparent at all when using evolution on the LTSP server itself, using the same user profile. -- [8.04] Drawing evolution window on screen very slow https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/225950 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 225950] Re: [8.04] Drawing evolution window on screen very slow
After taking two more patches in as many days I can confirm that the issue is still present. Drawing and manipulating the main pane, or email windows, takes too long over LTSP, and much longer than Dapper did on the same equipment. Installed packages: Evolution 2.22.2-0ubuntu1.3; ltsp-server 5.0.40~bzr20080212-0ubuntu6. -- [8.04] Drawing evolution window on screen very slow https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/225950 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 861171] Re: Shutdown from greeter does nothing when multiple accounts open
Affects me also as a 64 bit install of 12.04 with four user accounts. A warning and a password over-ride should be generated, as per behaviour in 10.04. As it stands non-admin user cannot now shut down normally at all if another user is logged in, even if the other user's processes are in 'zombie' state. Data loss and / or system damage definitely possible. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Bugs, which is subscribed to Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/861171 Title: Shutdown from greeter does nothing when multiple accounts open To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/indicator-session/+bug/861171/+subscriptions -- ubuntu-bugs mailing list ubuntu-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-bugs
[Bug 1698118] Re: Slow disk writes after some uptime, only on 32bit/16+RAM/4+ kernels
Thanks. Running sync && echo "1" | sudo tee /proc/sys/vm/highmem_is_dirtyable on my system improves the situation for intensive read / write, but does not solve the problem. Here are my test results after running the above commands. I should be seeing 4s and 5s all the way down, but instead I see inconsistent behaviour and lagginess in apps while running the test. Solution does seem to be to run a 64 bit kernel.
