As part of [1] which I also referred to you on the other mail thread that you started, I'm working on xen 4.16 for Jammy. There are even PPAs on the bug if you want to sniff-test things. To be clear, I'm unable to commit to making xen in jammy super-shiny, but better than the totally outdated 4.11 it should be. Hi Oliver, I'm not going into the pygrub side of things here, but I wanted to let you know that there is [1] which I think reported this issue for xen. There is work ongoing that tries to get a newer xen into jammy that can work with that. There might be SRUs later that fix this in older releases, but given that xen is "only" in universe I do not want to commit/promise that. Xen support in the upcoming 22.04 LTS version
Hi folks, checking the current packages for the 22.04 LTS version I recognized that the Xen packages are still on version 4.11 as maintained in 20.04 LTS. Since Debian bullseye is already with Xen version 4.14 I would suggest a sync with the Debian repository before freeze to get a more recent, performant and secure Xen shipped with the new LTS release. php-net-sieve 1.4.1-1
# apt show php-net-sieve Package: php-net-sieve Version: 1.4.1-1 Priority: optional Section: universe/web Origin: Ubuntu This package floods warnings about deprecated case insensitive defines. Upstream https://pear.php.net/package/Net_Sieve seems to have fixed version. -- Ari Saastamoinen -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list Ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss
Re: slurm-client build script
I guess where I am struggling with all this is how to build and install only the slurm client libs and commands. looking over the links you sent I don't see how to do that. --John On Mon, Jan 24, 2022 at 1:51 PM Dan Bungert wrote: > On Thu, Jan 20, 2022 at 06:29:42AM -0500, John Yost wrote: > > Hi Everyone, > > I want to build the 21.08.5 slurm-client installer for Ubuntu 18.04. > > Could you please share the build script? > > Hi John, > > In Debian & Ubuntu style packaging, there is a source package that contains > both the upstream source and the package build script. > > To obtain the source package, you may find the `pull-lp-source` script > helpful. > You can find that in the `ubuntu-dev-tools` package. > > After that, have a look at: > https://www.debian.org/doc/manuals/maint-guide/build.en.html#completebuild > Please mind the requirements for installing `build-essential` and the > package-specific build dependencies. > > Optional: if you think you will be doing more of this sort of backporting, > look > into `sbuild` - https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SimpleSbuild - it's wonderful for > this > sort of thing but does require some setup. > > -Dan > -- Ubuntu-devel-discuss mailing list Ubuntu-devel-discuss@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-devel-discuss

current ubuntu kernel compression method is breaking VMs using pygrub (Xen)
With at least the two most recent kernel versions linux-image-5.13.0-25-generic linux-image-5.13.0-27-generic ubuntu switched to ZSTD as default kernel compression method breaking all Xen installations using "pygrub", regardless whether it's a Dom0 or a DomU. Please switch back to a "pygrub" supported kernel compression method.
