My printer/scanner is also networked, but I always plug it right into my laptop for scanning. Actually, this is my favorite xsane feature. I have multi-functional HP OfficeJet connected to my home server. Me and my wife can share the scanner this way. Re: MID Edition vs Netbook Remix
Przemysław Kulczycki escreveu: Is the recently announced Ubuntu MID Edition the same as earlier announced Ubuntu Netbook Remix? Or is the Netbook Remix just based on MID Edition? The MID Edition announcement doesn't mention it and it might create confusion. Hello. They are separate projects. Ubuntu MID Edition was recently launched (http://blog.canonical.com/?p=13) and it's a platform created to support MID-type devices. The Ubuntu Netbook Remix is basically a standard Ubuntu desktop tweaked to work better with smaller screen devices. Re: tracking down suspend/hibernate bugs?
If I suspend my laptop, I'll lose my mouse pointer. The mouse action is still there, but no mouse pointer, so I cant see what I'm clicking. In a side note, my notebook, an Asus G1 suspends and hibernates nicely with hardy. Re: Fwd: Mono (Re: New Programs for Hardy?)
Martin Owens escreveu: Users who want any of these applications can get them from the repositories; just because you like the applications doesn't make them good for inclusion by default. The argument seems to be that we should sacrifice 60MB of CD space for a handful of extra features. The space instead could be used to have many more user friendly features than just nice sticky notes and Flicker intergration. Well, if I had to choose, I would vote for the removal and use this space to include more language packs so people who does not use English can have their languages installed without having to be connect to the internet. Specially useful where internet access is not easy/cheap.
