They are talking about grub issue with dual booting Lucid with other
operating systems including other Linux distributions, but I do not have any
other operating system on the machine not even other flavors of Linux. I
solely use Ubuntu. Nothing else. But I will still update grub once I am in
the office tomorrow and will post the consequences later in the day by
evening.

I completely installed Lucid from the scratch and it feels nice. While I
tried Live mode, everything worked fine. No a single glitch. But after
installing, I am unable to see the grub menu and the splash screen.
Everything is black screen that I can see and then comes the login prompt. I
can then login and work normally. But this is a weird behavior. I have
installed it on Dell Optiplex 330n with Intel G31/33 integrated graphics
controller. Anyone has seen this?

Explaining most part of why I thought password was cracked. Nothing else.
Explaining myself is not a crime, is it?

Surprisingly and finally I found out the problem. It was in the
themes Radiance and Ambiance. Choosing another desktop theme fixed the
bookmark bar no matter what chrome theme I use. But I don't know how
to fix it.

Where should I file this bug? In the normal ubuntu launchpad bug page?

Try this. Delete directory .thumbnails/fail/gnome-thumbnail-factory/
