[ubuntu-in] Ubuntu Server
Hi all, My college has brought a new server, to be used for managing the local intranet applications. How do i convince my fellow batchmates, and seniors to put ubuntu server edition in it?? we've been using rhel in our older servers for quite some time, and we're quite tired of the make's and make install's, with yum, also being cumbersome.. in other words, what is the advantage of ubuntu server over normal linux enterprise os?? [ubuntu-in] startup logs?
hi, there seems to be some problem with some of my startup scripts, it kind of freezes in the default mode, but works fine when using 'Failsafe GNOME', is there any log file for the normal startup, which will allow me to find out the script causing the error?? [ubuntu-in] ADSL without ethernet
hi, My parents old comp has no ethernet card, and with windows used a special driver for the broadband connection that made use of usb as a networking device. The adsl router was provided by bsnl, quidway WA1003A,.. Ubuntu does detect the adsl modem, partially, ie loads the eagle-usb drivers automatically.. Has anyone successfully made use of the modem in such a case?, please do help me if so. My parents old comp only supports and runs 5.10.. I can also provide the detailed lsusb details if needed. Yes, did install via apt-get , I'm using edgy. But didn't recognize my webcam... :( had to set up using some-other method..finally got it working in ekiga. Is your problem related to just installation of camorama or getting it working/detect your webcam after installation??
