Thats also very limted.. I am passinate about ubuntu, but working in Windows
environment.
Yesterday I got the first Ubuntu installed machine in our Company, but not
able to cnnect to Windows domain.
Also we cannot use it like other networked Windows Operating systems. They
dont even have support for Linux machines.
Only they do is to have Linux Servers So best of luck lakshmanan..
Try hard.. you may find one..

2wire is one of such company. There primary work is in embedded domain

there use some linux distro (mostly Ubuntu) as primary OS because of
the tools required for daily tasks.

2wire India is situated in Pune, Maharashtra.

Thanks a lot guys. I didnt expect this much response. Couple of you have

(java-ubuntu-web). Thanks again.

I can start my own startup (some one replied me this) but I have no

some experience. So that the folks after me should find trouble in

I would suggest you to get involve in some opensource project or start

That will change a great deal how companies look at you.

Any company that uses java on linux for development will

Even I am passionate about Ubuntu, but have to accept the harsh truth
that most companies use Windows. Anyway I have managed with it.
Still I have installed cygwin and nearly all the apps which I use on
Ubuntu/Linux on windows right from Firefox, Pidgin, LyX, Launchy etc.
These give me some sort of consolation.

I belong to ubuntu-java-web category of developers. That was the
shortest way i could describe my profile :)

Means a java web develop who wants to work on Ubuntu. Right?

I am B.E fresher (passing out this may 2010) from chennai.I dont want to
work using windows even at my work. since this ubuntu india group, I
thought I can ask you guys the set of software companies in chennai or
india (apart from google, IBM and other big wig companies) which uses
ubuntu in its core development operations. If you know any, name them
please. Do any startups use ubuntu as their operatings system in work ?

I think if you are so passionate. Why not be a part of Ubuntu
development? It can start with small contributions and later expand.
