Why would you like to put MS Office. Well I dont know whether it can be run in Wine, but I can see no point even if it works because too many ifs and buts will be there. Open Office is much better than MS Office. Get used to it -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
Re: [ubuntu-in] install MS office 2007
There are ways to install Ms Office in Ubuntu. I have done it for Ubuntu 9.10, but it does not work very efficiently. So, I suggest you use openoffice for most applications, or can install Windows as a virtual machine and use Ms Office. You can try IBM Lotus Symphonyhttp://symphony.lotus.com/software/lotus/symphony/SymphonyBetaHome.nsf/home. It's a great office suit too . I have seen people using Word 2007 flawlessly. The catch is that the person was using Crossover on Debian and it worked like a charm. Anyway, I cannot disclose the name of the person. -- Manish -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in

This will give you a solution for which you don't need to reboot. HOWEVER. do you have a very specific reason for installing M$ 07 because almost everything works under Linux. The only reason i need to use the M$ office is to use the Income Ta Software that is M$ macro dependent. ram -- ubuntu-in mailing list ubuntu-in@lists.ubuntu.com https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-in
