[Bug 1351131] Re: Please backport spyder 2.3.0+dfsg-3 (universe) from utopic

2014-08-02 Thread Stephen Michael Kellat
Running a new build with new version that just auto-landed

** Summary changed:

- Please backport spyder 2.3.0+dfsg-2 (universe) from utopic
+ Please backport spyder 2.3.0+dfsg-3 (universe) from utopic

** Description changed:

- Please backport spyder 2.3.0+dfsg-2 (universe) from utopic to trusty.
+ Please backport spyder 2.3.0+dfsg-3 (universe) from utopic to trusty.

  Reason for the backport:

  1. New support for Python 3
  2. jedi autocompletion now possible

  Testing:

Mark off items in the checklist [X] as you test them, but please leave the
checklist so that backporters can quickly evaluate the state of testing.

You can test-build the backport in your PPA with backportpackage:
  $ backportpackage -u ppa:skellat/tests -s utopic -d trusty spyder

  * trusty:
- [X] Package builds without modification
- [ ] spyder3 installs cleanly and runs

  [ ] python-spyderlib-doc installs cleanly and runs
  [ ] python3-spyderlib installs cleanly and runs
  [ ] spyder-common installs cleanly and runs
[ ] spyder installs cleanly and runs

  Reverse dependencies:
  =
The following reverse-dependencies need to be tested against the new version
of spyder. For reverse-build-dependencies (-Indep), please test that the
package still builds against the new spyder. For reverse-dependencies, please
test that the version of the package currently in the release still works with
the new spyder installed. Reverse- Recommends, Suggests, and Enhances don't
need to be tested, and are listed for completeness-sake.

[Bug 1351131] Re: Please backport spyder 2.3.0+dfsg-3 (universe) from utopic

2014-08-02 Thread Stephen Michael Kellat
Python 2 3 versions both come up, display About boxes, start shells,
and accept keyboard input. I'll accept that as running for now. I'll
deal with the rdepends after some sleep and after I go to church.

Please somebody remove skype from partner repository, aka Bug 1280109

2014-08-02 Thread Gianfranco Costamagna
Hi ubuntu developers,

I'll keep the question as simple as it is:
skype stopped working because of some protocol updates, and needs an update.

Nobody took care of updating it since 5 months.

Canonical claims that skype is officially supported via partner repository, if
this isn't the case anymore, and since skype is a non free tool in my opinion
we should update or remove.

Users shouldn't be allowed to install a broken package from an official archive.

BTW there are many bugs against skype, and many of them are easily reproducible
and just missing runtime dependencies, I really would like to package a fixed
skype version, but the launchpad ppa policy doesn't allow me.

Cheers,

Gianfranco

2014-08-02 Thread HeChilau
