Unable to upload new ia32-libs package to REVU
The current ia32-libs package needs a refresh, and its missing the libssl0.9.8 package. I tried fixing these issues myself, however I've been unable to upload the package to REVU - it's 300 megabytes, and the connection will just fail after a while. It's likely my ISP. Wine depends on the existence of a 32 bit libssl0.9.8 in order to work fully - many of the libs in the package are also over a month out of date before release. How can I get the package up and committed? Hi folks, I'm in the process of getting setup as a contributor, but ran into a snag. According to https://help.ubuntu.com/6.10/ubuntu/packagingguide/C/ubuntu-upload.html I am supposed to ask [EMAIL PROTECTED] for my key to be updated in REVU, but getting nowhere. The NDR is attached. Re: Archive frozen for Gutsy release
Hi folks, On Fri, Oct 05, 2007 at 02:43:15PM -0700, Steve Langasek wrote: Hi all, We continue to roll on towards release of Gutsy, and as of today the archive is now frozen. Many thanks to all whose contributions have gotten us to this point! This freeze means that the only uploads that will be accepted for gutsy between now and release are uploads fixing specific, release-relevant bugs. There are still a number of bugs to try to resolve before the release candidate goes out on October 11. A list of these milestoned bugs can be found at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+milestone/ubuntu-7.10-rc. Your help in hammering these out is appreciated. If you have bugs which you believe should be listed there but aren't yet, please get in touch with me or another member of the release team. There have been a number of questions about how this applies to universe. Although the freeze applies to the entire archive in the sense that package uploads have to go through the unapproved queue, the rule that only bugfixes are allowed is not intended to apply to universe. Instead, universe packages are only subject to the Upstream Version / New Package Freeze. In light of the timeline remaining before Gutsy release I think it might be a good idea to focus attention on bugfixes, but this is left to the discretion of the MOTUs. My apologies for the lack of clarity. -- Ubuntu-motu mailing list Ubuntu-motu@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-motu

I've just started the update run. Since it takes quite long nowadays, I guess your key should get imported in 2-3 hours. If it still won't work tomorrow, please send another mail. [..] How can I get the package up and committed? easiest way for me: If you can put the package somewhere else, I can inject it into REVU. Uploading via dput to REVU is basically the same as uploading the files of a source package via anonymous ftp with the changes file last. However for current REVU, all files in the incoming directory are moved to a local directory every 10 minutes. Hence resuming won't work if the files have already been moved, but I could rewrite that very script to skip subdirectories in the ftp incoming directory. Then you create a subdirectory, put the files there and resume the ftp-upload if your connection gets reset. IIRC ia32-libs is fetching the needed libraries via a script. So if you can provide me that script and the instructions how to build the source package from it, I can also run this on spooky and inject the resulting package as your upload into REVU. If you can think of another/better suited idea for this, I'm sure that can be done as well.
