Hello, May I suggest you to delete below two folder on you phone, not only the QML cache: ~/.config/com.ubuntu.telegram ~/.cache/com.ubuntu.telegram That will get your Telegram back but previous secret chat will be dropped, in the meantime we are checking the problem that cache/config leads our app. crash. I wonder that there's no desktop design story yet. I wonder if it makes sense to be a full-screen overlay that the Super key can access, and can be resized smaller if desired (like it is today in Unity 7). But if it's essential on a phone or tablet, you probably won't want it to just disappear when you plug your device into a monitor, so surely there must be a great, adaptable way to present that aspect of Unity. -- Nathan Haines Ubuntu - http://www.ubuntu.com/ -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone Post to : ubuntu-phone@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-phone] Dash and Scopes design evolution
I have just finished watching Scopes design evolution from UOS. They are proposing to have all scopes organized in some kind of browser-like way. And at first I was so amazed about the future of it and liked the new ideas very much. But as I kept thinking more and more about it, I can't help but wonder why can't that be just an app with plugins? Scope Browser if you wish. That way you can remove the scopes from the Dash and leave the Dash be for it's intended purpose, launching apps. That will come to fruition on the desktop where you want to just launch apps and get the work done while not be bothered by the content and if you want it, there is the Scope Browser aka you don't have to go enable every scope you want to look but just open the app. -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone Post to : ubuntu-phone@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
[Ubuntu-phone] Landing team 04.05.16
Hello everyone, We're back with the daily landing updates. While we're at it: I just hope my e-mails are not spamming people's mailboxes too much everyday - we might consider changing their frequency in case they do. Anyway, the last few days were very intense landing-wise. We had really a lot of new packages released to our overlay PPA - too many to list all. From the more notable, there was a new ubuntu-ui-toolkit with some dynamic grid unit preparations, scrollbar visual updates and bugfixes; a new upstream release of network-manager, initial release of aethercast (for wifi display!), two new releases of Unity8 (with work on dynamic grid units as well) and many many many others. Since we're already in String Freeze, please be sure to check the if all strings for your languages are translated for our main components [1]. Help greatly appreciated! There was also a small hiccup in rc-proposed while I was gone, with the new network-manager stack introducing a rather serious regression that took a bit to get fixed. Situations like these are inevitable on rc-proposed which is one of the reasons for which we do not recommend using it for daily phone usage - only stable images get proper testing before appearing in the channel. All in all, everything is back to normal now with new images building nightly again. Remember - this Friday is OTA-11 Final Freeze. Testing of the first candidate should begin on Monday and take around 2 weeks (or more, depending on the image status). Hi, Yes I am Dutch. I did a quick search on your device and it appears to be a bluetooth low energy device, so interfacing with it is the same as for the polar H7. App is not nearly finished though. I wanted to test feasibility first. When I have time, I'll look at hosting the sourcecode in github or bitbucket, as I haven't even set up version control yet. If you like, I'll keep you posted. [Ubuntu-phone] dekko - account configuration
I’ve recently had to re-create my account configuration for dekko (because of https://launchpad.net/bugs/1570774) and I didn’t find how to specify both IMAP and SMTP configuration in the same place. I’ve had to configure two accounts, an IMAP one, and an SMTP one. I’m pretty sure that in the past there was a way to configure both things in just one go, and there was only one account listed in the configuration screen, not two. Also (this may be related), in the configuration screen for the SMPT account, when I tick the checkbox to save sent messages, selecting a folder shows an empty screen, so I cannot actually have my sent messages be saved to the Sent folder on my IMAP account. Are these known issues? [Ubuntu-phone] small problem when file name contains ISO 8859-1 chars
Hello, I've copied some of my diaries to the M10 to have them for reading there with the webapp-container; works very nicely. One problem is that some files name are not presented in the browser, for example the ones below. The problem seems to be that the names contain ISO 88591-1 codings and the app only expects UTF-8. I could imagine that it will show such chars with the ?-symbol (like the ls command does), but showing the full name as blanks is IMHO a bug. phablet@ubuntu-phablet-m10:~$ ls diario2006/Q* diario2006/Qu?hacerenLaHabana.jpeg diario2006/Qu?hacerenLaHabana.mm phablet@ubuntu-phablet-m10:~$ ls diario2006/Q* | od -c 000 d i a r i o 2 0 0 6 / Q u 351 h a 020 c e r e n L a H a b a n a . j p 040 e g \n d i a r i o 2 0 0 6 / Q u 060 351 h a c e r e n L a H a b a n a 100 . m m \n 104 phablet@ubuntu-phablet-m10:~$ echo é | iconv -f utf-8 -t iso-8859-1 | od -c 000 351 \n -- Matthias Apitz, ✉ g...@unixarea.de, ⌂ http://www.unixarea.de/ ☎ +49-176-38902045 ¡Dios querido denos otra vez los problemas de ayer, los que tuvimos en la RDA! As for the BlueZ you must know that the communication is realized using the DBus interfaces. The BlueZ is exposing an API that allows the clients to pair, connect, etc... You may try to read the Ubuntu System Settings sources Bluetooth plugin [1] to get the understanding how this is done. I also suggest that your design uses the Ubuntu System Settings to manage the device [pair, connect, disconnect, forget, etc..] and in that case your application could be simplified. Last but not least there is an Ubuntu Online Summit conference happening this week and I think that today are a few sessions that you could watch [2]. I especially mean those related to app design and development such as: * Convergence QtQuick applications with Kirigami * Scopes design evolution [1] https://bazaar.launchpad.net/~system-settings-touch/ubuntu-system-settings/trunk/files/1647/plugins/bluetooth [2] http://summit.ubuntu.com/uos-1605/2016-05-04/ Best, Konrad > Thanks, > Matthijs > > > > -- > Verzonden via Dekko vanaf mijn Ubuntu-apparaat > > -- > Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone > Post to : ubuntu-phone@lists.launchpad.net > Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone > More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone Post to : ubuntu-phone@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp

I've used it on various devices since ~2001, back when I was developing for handhelds.org's "Familiar" Linux PDA distro. I wonder how mallum (Matchbox's author) is doing these days. I wonder if the mb keyboard still has the fitaly layout I gave it. It may seem small and cheesy, but here is what my Linux PDA looked like in 2002: http://i.imgur.com/M42wabW.png Good times. Before convergence was a buzz word, the iPaq and Zaurus ran the same software as a regular Linux desktop... though that was limited by what would actually fit on devices at the time. It was nice having full applications instead of just "apps". Additionally, wireless display was easy, flexible, and universal. I could use my PDA to view/control my desktop and vice-versa, or even use the PDA screen as a drawing tablet for GIMP on a bigger screen. A bit later, I used the same networked-display techniques to turn the PDA into a viewing / piloting device for a remote-control vehicle I built. Or one could put the PDA on its cradle and treat it like an extra screen, exporting windows and moving the mouse freely between it and other computers. It was only popular among enthusiasts though, and the more-popular Qt- and Android-based devices got rid of all that cool stuff. > What do I have to do to just start a Xmir-Server? Currently Telegram 2.2.4.0 is installed. I thought a downgrade would temporary fix this, until the current package has been fixed. If I login to the phone with adb shell, would it be possible to install a previous release of Telegram? If so, how to do this? Thanks! [Ubuntu-phone] Does anyone have a workaround for SIM card issues? - See bug #1569745
Hi, Would anyone have a workaround for this really annoying bug [1], as it is now a major issue (at least for me) and forces me to think about flashing another OS.. I have the dual-sim card phone and if I change the sim card the device software does not update the phone number on the UI. So all in all I can not know what sim card is in and where. There must be a way to force some kind of re-read of the sim card / phone number info? https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ubuntu-system-settings/+bug/1569745 Cheers, Juhapekka Piiroinen -- Mailing list: https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone Post to : ubuntu-phone@lists.launchpad.net Unsubscribe : https://launchpad.net/~ubuntu-phone More help : https://help.launchpad.net/ListHelp
