I will wait (and not send back the QWERTZ keyboard) until the issue gets
fixed.

Meanwhile I will by an additional QWERTY on:
http://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B014LECUUS
Any comments or experiences with this?

No, this seems to affect only the on-screen keyboard.

I will file a bug issue in launchpad.

I got the BT keyboard/mouse device today and it peers fine with the
E4.5. The only problem I have is, it is German QWERTZ layout and I do
not know how to change this in the Ubuntu BQ E4.5. Normaly in Ubuntu
desktop you can change this, or in FreeBSD, in KDE, etc. How this must
be done in the BQ E4.5, mayne with some command from phablets shell.

Thanks for any help.

I think I have now found exactly what I was locking for:
http://www.amazon.de/dp/B0142BCTT2?psc=1
http://www.amazon.co.uk/BATTOP-Ultra-Thin-Bluetooth-Wireless-Keyboard/dp/B0142BCTT2
Amazon.de has it on stock and delivers even a German QWERTZ layout.

Any comments?

As a native German speaker I need to say that on any X11 driven
environment it is fácil (easy) to select one Meta-key, for example the useless
so called Windows-key, and with this key held down you just type
naeio... to get the Spanish tilded chars

ñáéíó¿¡ÑÁÉÍÓ

This is just like using the Shift key to get capital letters.

I decided to go for MS Wedge http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B008OEHTB2
Specifically the Business style but to be fair I can't tell the
difference from the Retail style there.

I chose this keyboard because the keyboard cover serves as a stand (and
a bunch of amazon reviews I read made me go this path) and it is black
(my bq phone is too and it seems that the tablet will be as well). Since
I like consistency I also got the MS Wedge mouse.

So far so good (as long as I'm typing in English).

> Remember it has a US layout ;)

As a native Spanish speaker in Latin America I need to ask, Is there any
other "useful" layout? ;-)

English keyboards on the phone will be great once we get the chance to
do type 'Alt+' a' to get an á, i.e.; dead keys with AltGr

Cheers

well, since you are german:

has the touchpad on the side though, but at least you have the ability
to take a look at it in a shop (and perhaps to even try it with the

I have at work a Dell E6330 laptop. I'm quite satisfied with it, with one
big exception: it has a TrackPoint in the triangle of the letters G-H-B
which is useless as it has a normal touchpad below the space bar too. More
even, the Trackpoint moves the cursor away from the window where are you
typing (in UNIX one uses 'focus follow mouse' and not 'focus follow
click'). It happens often that I type as an accident into the wrong
window. I removed the TrackPoint, at least the part which one can detach
without to damage the keyboard.

I hate TrackPoints :-)

2016-03-02 Thread Mark

Okay - this is way out at Left Field!

With the talk of keyboards last night, I had a bit of a revelation that
perhaps, at least for some, the mouse might be becoming extinct - users
reaching for the touch-screen in preference. Following that, I reasoned
that a stylus, although a somewhat slower method of input, might be
advantageous for some (in education for example, where writing is said
to aid memory).

So I was if something like MyScript Stylus -

https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.visionobjects.stylusmobile.v3_2_store=en
-

could be converted to be used.

Just a thought I thought I'd share. :/

Hi Mathias,

The most popular keyboard+mouse combo are the MK series of Logitech o.
They are the top seller in Amazon for example. Take a look to mk270,
mk220 or mk260:

http://www.amazon.com/Logitech-Wireless-Combo-MK270-Keyboard/dp/B00BP5KOPA/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8=1456899732=8-1=logitech+mk270

I've tested: K series, mk series and microsoft 800 and 1000 series with
another touch device and worked fine, even some quick buttons for volume
or shut down the device works. Please note that, as customer you'll
always have 15 days to return if it does not work or it does not fit
your needs =)

cheers,

I'm so glad you asked that. I'm after the same but the one I ordered
turned out to be permanently paired to a bluetooth dongle it came with.
About as much use as a chocolate teapot!

[Ubuntu-phone] BQ E4.5: keyboard/mouse per bluetooth

2016-03-01 Thread Matthias Apitz

Hello,

Any recommendations for a keyboard/mouse to connect to our BQ E4.5 via
bluetooth? Best would be (for me) some device in laptopstyle, i.e.
having the mouse integrated as a touchpad into the keyboard.

Thanks for any hints
