WillSmith: you should update openvpn to the latest version as well. network-manager-openvpn depends on openvpn while it should now depend on openvpn (= 2.1~rc9), the one that supports the now-required --script-security option. -- Network Manager 0.7, openvpn, VPN Connection Failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260291 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openvpn in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 260291] Re: Network Manager 0.7, openvpn, VPN Connection Failed
Hi, I discovered that my problem was indeed different. While experimenting with various settings, I had accidentally left System setting as checked. When clearing that checkmark, my connection starts working. Why does this affect the connection? If I understood correctly, this means that by checking System setting, the connection should by made without user login. But when I'm actually logged in, the connection should still be possible irrelevant of this setting? erki -- Network Manager 0.7, openvpn, VPN Connection Failed https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/260291 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openvpn in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 271115] Re: Automatic upgrade in Ubuntu Hardy breaks Samba - 9-13-08
It seems that my Virtualbox folder share was removed on install. I downloaded Gsambad, then added the share that had gone missing, even though Nautilus showed it as a share. Gsambad also told me that it couldn't find smb.conf. After that I reinstalled nautilus-share. [Bug 236830] Re: cifs does not support kerberos authentication
To follow-up regarding the comment from Steve on 2008-08-15, it does work now indeed. Basically, it is entirely my fault for not configuring the Samba server for Kerberos authentication. For the record, you need to set the use kerberos keytab and realm options of smb.conf. Duh. Steve: I see that the latest smbfs package in hardy-proposed does not have the backported cifs.spnego that you have in your PPA. What are your plan in the short/medium term? For hardy, do you plan to wait for upstream to stabilize the name of the executable before you push an update, or do you plan to have the backported cifs.spnego executable in the interim anyway? -- cifs does not support kerberos authentication https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236830 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 236830] Re: cifs does not support kerberos authentication
upstream has stabilized the name of the executable now, so providing an update that includes the cifs.upcall helper instead of cifs.spnego just waits on me having the cycles available to do it.
[Bug 271115] Re: Automatic upgrade in Ubuntu Hardy breaks Samba - 9-13-08
Sorry for the spamminess of my posting, but I discovered that the problem wasn't fixed. Apparently, the upgrade obliterated my old /etc/samba/smb.conf file. When I restored the smb.conf file from backup, my settings were back, including my Windows network as well as my shared printer. So this is a bug in the upgrade that overwrites the smb.conf file.
