[Bug 296327] Re: smb:/// No application is registered as handling this file
*** This bug is a duplicate of bug 305030 *** https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/305030 Do you think your present problem is the cause of that bug in Evince? I don't expect so. The problem you mention in the report is an intended behavior and has nothing to do with bug 305030 which comes from GTK+. ** This bug has been marked a duplicate of bug 305030 Failed to print document - can't prompt for authorization -- smb:/// No application is registered as handling this file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/296327 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 246322] Re: nis package must provide DHCP client scripts
You're missing the point with laptops and so on: these are use cases that are already supported and can be broken by a poor DHCP implementation. This is especially the case if your preferred implementation with overwriting the configuration file were done - the user configuration would be unconditionally deleted if they connected to the wrong network. Adding a DO NOT EDIT THIS FILE note doesn't really address the problem: it's not really compliant with policy (users should be able to do static configuration) and means that it becomes impossible to set any configuration which is not offered over DHCP. You should do something like have the DHCP configuration go in a separate file and source that from the main configuration file. -- nis package must provide DHCP client scripts https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/246322 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dhcp3 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 312648] [NEW] package samba 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new post-removal script returned error exit status 132
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: samba I tried to set up shared folders through the Xubuntu UI (System Shared Folders). I was prompted to install NFS and/or SMB, so I chose both. A dependency problem with NFS was identified and it was left unconfigured. I decided I didn't need NFS so uninstalled both nfs-common and nfs- kernel-server through Synaptic. I could not get the Shared Folders application to allow me to set up SMB alone, so I went into Synaptic and tried to reinstall Samba. That reinstallation gave the current error. rich...@blackbox:~$ lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 8.10 Release:8.10 rich...@blackbox:~$ apt-cache policy samba samba: Installed: 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 Candidate: 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 Version table: *** 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 0 500 http://gulus.usherbrooke.ca intrepid-updates/main Packages 500 http://gulus.usherbrooke.ca intrepid-security/main Packages 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3 0 500 http://gulus.usherbrooke.ca intrepid/main Packages rich...@blackbox:~$ ProblemType: Package Architecture: i386 DistroRelease: Ubuntu 8.10 ErrorMessage: subprocess new post-removal script returned error exit status 132 NonfreeKernelModules: fglrx Package: samba 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 SourcePackage: samba Title: package samba 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new post-removal script returned error exit status 132 Uname: Linux 2.6.27-11-generic i686 ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: apport-package -- package samba 2:3.2.3-1ubuntu3.3 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess new post-removal script returned error exit status 132 https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/312648 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
