[Bug 201786] Re: ssh Agent admitted failure to sign using the key on big endian machines

2009-04-24 Thread Christian Albrecht
I have had the problem on my upgraded from Intrepid Jaunty installation.

It seems to be that gnome-keyring has a problem while reading my private
key in dos format (CR/LF). After converting it to unix format it works
like a charm.

I've used dos2unix (tofrodos package) to do the job.

I removed samba and reinstalled it. Works fine.

i was able to install samba just fine on kubuntu jaunty 64bit. could you
try and purge your current samba install and reinstall and see if that
 fixes the issue?

[Bug 366078] [NEW] likewise-open breaks all logins during/after upgrade to Ubuntu 9.04

2009-04-24 Thread Andrew Keyes
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: likewise-open

While upgrading to Jaunty, references to likewise-open are removed from
pam, causing a situation where it is impossible to log into the system
using either a domain or local account. The only work-around that I've
found is to boot into recovery mode and fix the configuration files for
pam by hand.

As my system has its screen locked while upgrading to Jaunty, I was
unable to unlock it, and was forced to reboot and manually resume the
install.

Hi !
I solved my problem by changing my home folder permissions :

Before :
rem...@nkbp:~$ ls -l /home/
drwxr--r-- 99 rems14 rems14 12288 2009-04-24 19:50 rems14

Now :
rem...@nkbp:~$ ls -l /home/
drwxr-xr-x 99 rems14 rems14 12288 2009-04-24 19:50 rems14

The soluce is to allow execute for all users by typing this command :
sudo chmod g+x,o+x /home/rems14

I don't know how I lost permissions and if it's a bug...
Thanks for help.

'Could not upload report to Crashdatabase

There was little I could do as my mouse had become inoperable and my
screen resolution had dropped back to 640*480.

Install now complete and Samba is not working
ran

dpkg-query -W -f='${Package} ${Version} ${Source} ${Status}\n' | grep

Output is

try commenting out everything in /etc/network/interfaces except lo

for me and now my samba share is automatically mounted as soon as my

[Bug 366427] Re: errore segnalato dal sistema, l'ho appena aggiornato

2009-04-24 Thread Jamie Strandboge
Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. Your bug report is more likely to get attention if it is made in
English, since this is the language understood by the majority of Ubuntu
developers. Additionally, please only mark a bug as security if it
shows evidence of allowing attackers to cross privilege boundaries or to
directly cause loss of data/privacy. Please feel free to report any
other bugs you may find.

** Visibility changed to: Public

** This bug is no longer flagged as a security vulnerability

I meant:

Could you please attach copies of the two files /etc/hosts and
/etc/hostnames to this bug report?

[Bug 365625] Re: package postfix 2.5.5-1.1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 75

2009-04-24 Thread Jonathan Marsden
Thanks for reporting this, and so helping to make Ubuntu even better.

As far as i can tell, something about the configuration of your machine
apparently caused the scripts concerned to think your hostname was '04'.
This is not a valid hostname, since hostnames should start with a
letter.

Could you please attach copies of the two files /etc/host and
/etc/hostname to this bug report?

Thanks,

Jonathan
