[Bug 139217] Re: dhcp fails for gateway on different subnet - SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable
Thank you raboof for updating us. I shall mark this as Fix Released as you stated that it works after (I assume) an update. Aaron, I do not believe that this is the same problem, therefore you will need to open a new report, although if I am wrong I apologise. Feel free to reopen this bug if it is still an issue by changing the status back to New. ** Changed in: dhcp3 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Released -- dhcp fails for gateway on different subnet - SIOCADDRT: Network is unreachable https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/139217 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dhcp3 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 382117] [NEW] Renaming a file through Samba overwrites existing one
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: samba Using Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04 with Samba 2:3.3.2-1ubuntu3. I have a local server with directories shared through Samba and access them from another computer using Nautilus. When renaming a file to a name that already exists in the current dir, the original file is replaced without warning instead of having an error message like can't rename: file already exists. E.g.: - access a Samba share through Nautilus - create two blank files (blank_file_1 blank_file_2) - rename blank_file_2 to blank_file_1 - blank_file_1 is lost forever and now replaced by the content of blank_file_2 The problem doesn't happen with a remote directory mounted as sftp (error message saying that the file already exists) but does happen with the mv command in command line (in local dir or through ssh) so I'm not sure if the problem is related to Samba or mv or both. Is mv supposed to overwrite existing files without warning or errors ? ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- Renaming a file through Samba overwrites existing one https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/382117 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 381269] Re: NUT fails to shutdown UPS
I've confirmed that this problem exists in Ibex, not that I really had any doubts. It's been reported to Debian as well, and the maintainer is pondering the best way to repair this for Lenny. I got the impression that this is still in the upstream codebase, so it is to be expected that Jaunty and whatever the K one is are likewise afflicted. Workaround: in /etc/init.d/nut: poweroff) flag=`sed -ne 's#^ *POWERDOWNFLAG *\(.*\)$#\1#p' /etc/nut/upsmon.conf` wait_delay=`sed -ne 's#^ *POWEROFF_WAIT= *\(.*\)$#\1#p' /etc/default/nut` if [ -f $flag ] ; then # fixes bug: upsmon needs libupsclient in /usr/bin... oops # if /sbin/upsmon -K /dev/null 21 ; then if true ; then log_daemon_msg Shutting down the UPS ... All that the call to upsmon adds is a check of the contents of /etc/killpower - I guess someone once got an unexpected UPS shutdown from having fiddled about unwisely, though I'm inclined to think that anyone who can touch /etc/killpower can probably bollix things up in so many other ways... Anyway, all this costs is that double-check of the flag file. -- NUT fails to shutdown UPS https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/381269 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to nut in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 316441] Re: PHP session garbage collection
I think this needs to be looked into. You cannot change the session.gc_maxlifetime in your php scripts using ini_set(session.gc_maxlifetime, SOMEVALUE); Everything says it was read correctly but the garbage collector reads the session.gc_maxlifetime directly from the php.ini file and disregards the rest. You also cannot change the session path. I have not done to much debugging but this is a very annoying issue when you want to change the session lifetime. -- PHP session garbage collection https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/316441 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 316441] Re: PHP session garbage collection
You're probably better off removing the Debian cron job and modifying the php.ini yourself to your prefered settings (even if you revert them back to the original PHP settings). Unfortunately, it doesn't seam like anyone at Ubuntu is interested in changing this away from the Debian modifications, despite the fact it is non-standard behaviour for PHP. There is an interesting thread on this somewhere on the PHP internals mailing list, it seams the PHP developers feel the pain of users having problems with distro modified versions of PHP and get quite a few complaints from users because of non-standard mods to the source by the linux distros (obviously not their fault)! [Bug 317564] Re: Upgrade to Subversion 1.6.x for Karmic
I asked the Debian maintainer in http://bugs.debian.org/cgi- bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=531366 why 1.6.x hasn’t moved out of Debian experimental yet, and got a detailed response. The three issues he mentioned look relatively minor, and the second isn’t an issue for Ubuntu (we already disable serf because it’s in universe), but we should be aware of them and of the fact that 1.6.x in experimental might not get updates as frequently as 1.5.x in unstable would. I think we should still get 1.6.x into Karmic; there is plenty of time to work out any remaining issues. But if we want to stay with 1.5.x for now, we should at least merge 1.5.6 from testing/unstable (debdiff in bug 382002). -- Upgrade to Subversion 1.6.x for Karmic https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/317564 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is a direct subscriber. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
