2009-06-13 Thread Jean-Claude GUEZO

I'm not sure that my mysqld apparmor profile allows access to custom datadir
location.
When I try to connect to mysql via phpMyAdmin, this error appear : #2002 - Le
serveur ne répond pas. (ou l'interface de connexion
(socket) vers le serveur MySQL local n'est pas correctement configurée)

Please help me !

 According to datadir.cnf:

 [mysqld]
 datadir = /home/jean-claude/mysql

You're using a non-standard location for you datadirectory. You need to
update mysqld apparmor profile to take into account the non-standard
location of datadir. Only /var/lib/mysql/ is supported by default.

See https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingApparmor for more information about
 Debugging AppArmor related issues.

Could you make sure that your mysqld apparmor profile allows access to
 your custom datadir location?

[Bug 329974] Re: SIGSEGV in _nss_dns_gethostbyname2_r() browsing Samba printers, i386 only

2009-06-13 Thread Stefan Radovanovici
I am running Ubuntu 9.04 AMD64 with the latest patches and in
Administration-Printing-New Printer-Network Printer I do not have any
Windows printer via SAMBA option. The printer I am trying to print is
valid and working (several other windows boxes print to it). smbclient
-L server also shows correctly the shared printer.

Any ideas ?

2009-06-13 Thread Ed Comer
I also run Ubuntu 9.04 AMD64 and have no problem at all, although it was
present on the same machine when I ran the i386 version. This problem
does not seem to exist in 64-bit Ubuntu. I suspect that you have a setup
problem. I recommend that you read the post at the following link:

Re: [Bug 329974] Re: SIGSEGV in _nss_dns_gethostbyname2_r() browsing Samba printers, i386 only

2009-06-13 Thread the motorman
just install smbclient .. you can do this in the command window, not
abslotuley sure but I think it is something like:
sudo apt-get install smbclient
Make sure that samba is not loaded when you do this. you need to do a stop
on samba if it is running.
This worked great fro me under Ubuntu 9.04 and solved my inability to print
on a win box printer in my LAN.

[Bug 386867] [NEW] package mysql-server-5.0 5.1.30really5.0.75-0ubuntu10.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2009-06-13 Thread slick911
Public bug reported:

I disabled AppArmor on my machine, but the update insists on starting it. This
prevents mysql from starting, because the apparmor profiles are bogus.
Please leave AppArmor alone during update. It's disabled.
I removed apparmor completely from /etc/init.d to fix this properly.

2009-06-13 Thread Jonathan Marsden
The mysql apparmor profiles work fine for me here (Ubuntu Jaunty 9.04).

Please describe what you mean by the profiles being bogus in
considerably more depth. Please be constructive -- suggest imrpovements
to them if you feel they are needed.

If you have chosen to manually move MySQL database files into a non-standard
location,
you will need to adjust your apparmor profiles to reflect that non-standard
change.

Please note that removing /etc/init.d/apparmor is *not* in any sense a
way to fix this properly and reduces overall system security.
