[Bug 211631] Re: Network is brought down before network filesystems are unmounted (CIFS timeout at shutdown)
I am facing this issue on intrepid and jaunty using wired connection (with NM in system mode). Even before reading this thread I went through moving S31umountnfs.sh up in the rc0/6 scripts in order to find the critical tip. For me this was S20sendsigs (as described by Thierry), i.e. S19umountnfs.sh solved it, S21umountnfs.sh broke it (so there was no need to put it before S15wpa-ifupdown). Ppl using wireless should check this for S15wpa-ifupdown, as well. -- Network is brought down before network filesystems are unmounted (CIFS timeout at shutdown) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/211631 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

This option is only displayed to users who actually can add/remove applications, which are not everyday users, but rather admin users. Logging in with a random AD user, he is probably not listed as an admin, so he doesn't have this option. [Bug 205996] Re: ServerTokens Full in apache2.conf (security risk?)
Actually Full ServerTokens enable automated worm spreading due to detailed application version scanning. The point is: There is absolutely no need to display Full Server Tokens by default as you don't gain any user experience, better server handling or similar features from that setting. So the argument that most attacks deal with broken application is no reason for leaking information that actually don't *need* to be published. Besides that, /etc/apache2/conf.d/security also has TraceEnable On by default, also making no sense, as this is a debugging setting and already had specific 0day exploits. So from a server administrators point of view: Please consider configuring Apache2 more secure by setting ServerTokens at least to Minor and TraceEnable Off. Just for your information a list of differences in the ServerTokens settings: ServerTokens Prod[uctOnly] Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache ServerTokens Major Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/2 ServerTokens Minor Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/2.0 ServerTokens Min[imal] Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/2.0.41 ServerTokens OS Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/2.0.41 (Unix) ServerTokens Full (or not specified) Server sends (e.g.): Server: Apache/2.0.41 (Unix) PHP/4.2.2 MyMod/1.2 This setting applies to the entire server, and cannot be enabled or disabled on a virtualhost-by-virtualhost basis. -- ServerTokens Full in apache2.conf (security risk?) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/205996 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 406263] Re: Please merge openipmi 2.0.16-1(main) from debian unstable(main)
thank you for your work there but how do decide what to update, you seem to work on a lot of updates but there is a reason the autosyncs are stopped that's not to play catching up manually now but to focus on stabilization, is there any change worth having there? ** Changed in: openipmi (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Wishlist -- Please merge openipmi 2.0.16-1(main) from debian unstable(main) https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/406263 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openipmi in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 363931] Re: Please remove the .cmd files in bin
I don't think 1.3.36506-0ubuntu2 really fixes the bug: $ dpkg -l|grep ec2-api-tools ii ec2-api-tools 1.3.36506-0ubuntu2Amazon EC2 API tools $ dpkg -L ec2-api-tools|grep \\.cmd$|head -5 /usr/bin/ec2assocaddr.cmd /usr/bin/ec2-migrate-image.cmd /usr/bin/ec2daddr.cmd /usr/bin/ec2gpass.cmd /usr/bin/ec2-purchase-reserved-instances-offering.cmd The problem appears to be that the install/ec2-api-tools rule in debian/rules is run before dh_install. CDBS provides binary-post-install/* rule for doing stuff after dh_install and friends, and using that seems to work (see the attached patch). ** Attachment added: Use binary-post-install/ec2-api-tools instead of install/ec2-api-tools http://launchpadlibrarian.net/29681435/ec2-api-tools.patch -- Please remove the .cmd files in bin https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/363931 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to ec2-api-tools in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
