[Bug 236931] Re: openssh-server does not find dsa keys authorized_keys file
Rereading my post I see that I proposed specific and simple changes to the documentation which would solve the problem I encountered and which, as far as I can tell, others did also: You should now be able to SSH *to* the _remote_ host without being prompted for a password. Note the IMPORTANT emphases (sorry, the attempted underline of the word remote in the original post didn't work) As I said , 1. This was clearer (to me): http://ubuntuforums.org/showthread.php?t=238672 2. A diagram clarifying which end is which would be very useful It's annoying to have to read and compare multiple versions of documentation to try to figure why something doesn't work. In this case I provided a solution and, if I'm not mistaken, it was blown off. -- openssh-server does not find dsa keys authorized_keys file https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/236931 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 439288] Re: 1.6~bzr854-0ubuntu13 fails to run instances
Testing with a 20091004 ISO containing -0ubuntu13: Autoregistration failed after CD install/reboot, the registration logs only show: ERROR: you need to be on the CLC host and the CLC needs to be running. Re: [Bug 439868] Re: UEC images could be smaller
AMIs for Amazon EC2 should be 10 GB (10240 * 1024 * 1024 bytes) The reason for the above is that in ec2 your '/' filesystem is the size of the filesystem in the image (much as that is in uec). The difference is that in ec2, the only cost to you is the upload of the larger image (compressed). So its basically benefit of a larger / with zero cost. [Bug 443118] [NEW] No autoregistration on first startup after ISO install
Public bug reported: Testing 20091005 daily CD, UEC/Cluster install After the install reboot, eucalyptus doesn't autoregister. The registration logs all contain: ERROR: you need to be on the CLC host and the CLC needs to be running. Restarting eucalyptus, or upgrading to a new eucalyptus package, autoregistration works correctly. The only failure scenario seems to be when the first time the service is started also happens to be at system startup time. I am wondering if we don't start eucalyptus at boot a little too early with: start on runlevel [23] Maybe the network and/or eth0 is not fully operational at that point, resulting in wrong addresses being used in /etc/eucalyptus/eucalyptus- ipaddr.conf. That might also explain the strange walrus 127.0.0.1 registration I experienced last week. ** Affects: eucalyptus (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: Triaged ** Affects: eucalyptus (Ubuntu Karmic) Importance: High Status: Triaged ** Changed in: eucalyptus (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: eucalyptus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High ** Also affects: eucalyptus (Ubuntu Karmic) Importance: High Status: Triaged -- No autoregistration on first startup after ISO install https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/443118 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to eucalyptus in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 443125] [NEW] Upgrade to r908 loses admin credentials
Public bug reported: Upgrading from r854-0ubuntu13 to proposed r908-0ubuntu1 The admin credentials previously downloaded (and previously working correctly) no longer work. euca-* commands return 403 errors. Trying to run sudo euca_conf --get-credentials fails (saves a 0-size zip file) The only way to unblock the situation is to go to the web UI and download new credentials from there. How to reproduce: From daily CD, do a UEC/Cluster install (you get r854-0ubuntu13) $ sudo euca_conf --get-credentials mycreds.zip $ unzip mycreds.zip $ . eucarc $ euca-describe-availability-zones verbose returns something. Then upgrade your system to r908 packages. $ euca-describe-availability-zones verbose now returns 403. $ sudo euca_conf --get-credentials mycreds2.zip now retrieves a zero-sized zipfile. ** Affects: eucalyptus (Ubuntu) Importance: High Status: Triaged ** Changed in: eucalyptus (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged ** Changed in: eucalyptus (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = High -- Upgrade to r908 loses admin credentials https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/443125 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to eucalyptus in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 443252] [NEW] [FFe] new upstream version closes several bugs, includes more bug fixes
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: logwatch This is probably a bug-fix-only release, but as upstream hasn't done official versioned releases, it's hard to distinctly assert that this is a minor-version bump. That said, updating logwatch to current Debian (7.3.6.cvs20090906-1) seems to fix the following Ubuntu bugs: - bug 228917 - bug 391077 - bug 425206 Also, the patch Ubuntu carried for bug 296349 has been taken upstream. Package builds, upgrades, and runs as expected. No new bugs were filed in Debian against it, and it has moved to testing now. [Bug 412972] Re: bad signal mask of ssh sessions
I'm running Debian Unstable booting with file-rc, and there are several system daemons that have screwy SigBlk masks, of which sshd is one. They are listed in the attached commands file. You can get the data for a similar report on your own machine by running the following commands (as root): grep SigBlk /proc/*/status | grep -v commands for x in $(grep SigBlk /proc/*/status | grep -v | sed -e 's@/proc/\(.*\)/status...@\1@g'); do echo -n $x:; cat /proc/$x/cmdline; echo; done commands After running this, I cleaned things up a bit in vim to better organize the report. Perhaps people experiencing this bug on Ubuntu could run a similar report? ** Attachment added: System daemons with screwy sigprocmasks on Debian Unstable http://launchpadlibrarian.net/33042949/commands -- bad signal mask of ssh sessions https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/412972 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to openssh in ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 443321] [NEW] drbd devices not automatically mounted via /etc/fstab even witn _netdev
Public bug reported: Both in jaunty-desktop(i386/amd64) and jaunty-server the drbd subsystem is started by '/etc/rc2.d/S70drbd' script which does not interact well with the network-device-based filesystems being mounted by '/etc/network /if-up.d/mountnfs' after network devices have all come up (a typical system will reach '/etc/rc2.d/S70drbd start' much before than network will be up). I'm not sure if this is really a solid solution but since calling '/etc/init.d/drbd start' again after it has already been called seems quite benign, I have just added the script '/etc/network/if-up.d/drbd-start' (note the naming alphabetically _before_ 'mountnfs' in that directory) with the contents: - #! /bin/sh /etc/init.d/drbd start - and I have labeled my drbd mounts in /etc/fstab with the '_netdev' option: - /dev/drbd1 /home ext3 _netdev,relatime 0 2 /dev/drbd2 /local ext3 _netdev,relatime 0 3 - This causes the if-up system (regardless whether it is NetworkManager-originated or due to interfaces listed in /etc/network/interfaces) to first bring up drbd devices and then mount the network-dependent drbd devices. Works beautifully for me, in the simple situation where I don't want to use an HA manager to shift the primary/secondary roles around, I just want my main computer to be primary and mount the devices by default and the secondary to skip all mounting.
