[Bug 669338] [NEW] ssh autologin fails to work

2010-11-01 Thread enb
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: ssh

I created id_dsa.pub and id_dsa on my client computer (did not use a
passphrase), I then added the contents of the .pub file to two other
computers, renaming the file authorized_keys on both. However, while one
computer does not ask for passwords for ssh login attempts from the
client, the other one still does ask for the password everytime. All 3
computers are x64 maverick, and because I followed the same procedure
for both ssh servers, one of them has to be a bug.

[Bug 669443] [NEW] Terminal hangs when sshing to Ubuntu 10.04

2010-11-01 Thread Denis Shvydkiy
Public bug reported:

When I ssh to a box with Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop edition terminal hangs
after issuing some commands like ls, vi etc.

In my case I tried to reproduce the issue with the following computers:
A. My laptop with Ubuntu 10.10 Desktop edition.
B. A box with Ubuntu 10.04 Desktop edition.
C. A VPS with Ubuntu 10.04 Server edition
D. A VPS with Ubuntu 8.04 Server edition.

When I try to ssh from A to C and D everything works fine, I can run vi,
ls, byobu etc.

When I ssh to from A to B I can login successfully and even ls works on
some directories but something like vi, nano hangs the terminal.

I tried to use gnome-terminal and putty and the issue is reproducible
with both.

[Bug 669452] [NEW] Please sync freeradius (main) from Debian Unstable (main)

2010-11-01 Thread Chuck Short
Public bug reported:

Binary package hint: freeradius

Please sync freeradius 2.1.10 from Debian Unstable, the Ubuntu changes
can be dropped. A summary of the changelog is the following:

 freeradius (2.1.10+dfsg-1) unstable; urgency=medium
 .
   * New upstream version, closes a bunch of reproducible SNAFUs,
including two tagged as security issues, CVE-2010-3696, CVE-2010-3697,
 closes: #600176.
   * Build-depend on newer Libtool because of lt_dladvise_init(), also
upstream now has a configure check so we no longer need a patch,
yet we still don't want the old behaviour. Noticed by John Morrissey,
 closes: #584151.
   * Added the /etc/default/freeradius file as suggested by
Rudy Gevaert and Matthew Newton, closes: #564716.
   * Stop symlinking /dev/urandom into /etc/freeradius/certs/random,
it breaks grep -r in /etc. Instead, replace it inside eap.conf,
both in the new shipped conffile and in postinst.

[Bug 661371] Re: package apache2.2-common 2.2.14-5ubuntu8.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2010-11-01 Thread r0g
Hi Clint,

Actually I think we can close this one, the last batch of updates I got
(bout a week ago) seemed to have fixed it. For the record I never had
(or had heard of) reqtimeout so the problem definitely wasn't with it's
config files, it must have been somewhere else.

Thanks for getting back to me.

Roger.

[Bug 591489] Re: QEMU_AUDIO_DRV set to none by libvirtd in Lucid

2010-11-01 Thread nutznboltz
Instead of
QEMU_AUDIO_DRV=alsa /usr/bin/kvm.bin $@

use
QEMU_AUDIO_DRV=alsa exec /usr/bin/kvm.bin $@

also in /etc/libvirt/qemu.conf

# QEMU implements an extension for providing audio over a VNC connection,
# though if your VNC client does not support it, your only chance for getting
# sound output is through regular audio backends. By default, libvirt will
# disable all QEMU sound backends if using VNC, since they can cause
# permissions issues. Enabling this option will make libvirtd honor the
# QEMU_AUDIO_DRV environment variable when using VNC.
#
# vnc_allow_host_audio = 0

So add

vnc_allow_host_audio = 1

but that will only suppress libvirt from adding QEMU_AUDIO_DRV=none

2010-11-01 Thread Vadim Nevorotin
Simon Déziel,
if you apply this workaroud you can't control your virtual machine throw
virtmanager. It's not a good idea, in this case you can simply install and
configure VM using console virsh or something like this.
For now there is only one ability to use virt manager in a proper way: use virt
manager from Maverick, in which you can manually define bridge name for VM to
connect to. But I really can't understand why so simle option like system
bridges discovering is broken for such a long time.

[Bug 669443] Re: Terminal hangs when sshing to Ubuntu 10.04

Regarding the referenced Ubuntu forum thread, it was solved by using a
different NIC, details at that thread. However, there is no physical
problem with the original NIC, as it works just fine in 8.04. My guess
is it must be a driver issue in the driver that shipped with 10.04.
Complete lspci and ifconfig details are in the ubuntuforums.org thread.

r...@hostname:~#

The net result of this is that this command will fail (Connection
timeout; no servers could be reached) on a normal install of ubuntu
with a bind9 install:

$ dig @`hostname` any host name

Whereas it should behave the same as:

$ dig @localhost any host name

I don't understand the motivation that Ubuntu had for setting '127.0.1.1
hostname hostname.domain' in /etc/hosts but given that it does, all
daemons need to support it.
