Public bug reported: Binary package hint: cobbler Clean Natty install Using cobbler 2.1.0~bzr1988-0ubuntu1 sync_post_restart_services.py is used to restart services after a 'cobbler sync'. [Bug 708504] Re: [needs-packaging] PHP 5.3.5 is available.
Note that with such a large set of changes, it may be best to collaborate directly with the Debian php maintainers rather than us importing this version before them. There may already be work done in their git branches. debian php maintainer hat on Hi, php5 5.3.5 will be uploaded to Debian after squeeze is released. As usual we always appreciate any help with php5 packaging, but help with triaging and fixing bugs is more needed than just updating to new upstream versions. So, (and this applies to anybody out there) if you feel like spending some free brain cycles, please open http://bugs.debian.org/php5 and test bugs, find fixes, cherry-pick from upstream svn, etc. This will be much appreciated, since we are always in need of help. /debian php maintainer hat on -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/708504 Title: [needs-packaging] PHP 5.3.5 is available. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 90681] Re: resolv.conf overwritten using VPN/PPP etc...
How to update nameserver in Network Manager and stop it from changing the /etc/resolv.conf after rebooting in Ubuntu 9.04 to 10.10 1. Open Terminal and type sudo su then press enter. 2. Type in gedit /etc/resolv.conf then press enter, you will then see your Network Managers nameserver usually 198.168.0.100, write down whatever the ip is then close terminal. 3. Right click Network Manager and select Edit Connections, left click Wired or Wireless, then left click Auto eth0 or eth1 or Auto whatever the name is for the wireless connection, left click Edit, then left click IPv4 Settings, tick box connect automatically, look at the Method box if it says Automatic (DHCP) left click the box and select Automatic (DHCP) addresses only, look at DNS servers and write in the box ***.***.***.***, ***.***.***.***, 192.168.0.100 or the ip you wrote down if it is diferent ( DO NOT TYPE THE *** TYPE IN THE IP NUMBERS OF THE NAMESERVERS YOU WANT TO USE), the commas are important as they are used to seperate the namservers addresses in the /etc/resolv.conf. Tick box Available to all users then left click apply and then type in your computer password when prompted and press apply. The first 2 nameservers are the nameservers you want to use and the 3rd is your DNS nameserver. Reboot and perform step 1 an 2 you will find the nameservers you typed in the Network Manager have not been changed. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dhcp3 in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/90681 Title: resolv.conf overwritten using VPN/PPP etc... -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 387189] Re: /dev/null corrupted (/dev/null.1)
It seems to me a patch to /etc/logrotate.d/apache2 is the simplest solution. The attached diff tries to solve the issue and also be more readable, breaking the one complex line involving backticks into three shorter simpler lines, no backticks needed. There are a lot of cases to test this with, and I doubt I have yet tested all of them... with and without a full apache2 installation, with and without apache running, with and without making changes to the envvars file to put the PID file elsewhere... Anyway, here is a patch that looks sane to me. Comments welcomed, testing even more welcomed :) ** Patch added: Patch to postrotate script within /etc/logrotate.d/apache2 https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/logrotate/+bug/387189/+attachment/1816129/+files/logrotate-apache2.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/387189 Title: /dev/null corrupted (/dev/null.1) -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 688085]
Ubuntu 10.10 will update kernel to contain a back ported kvm fix, which probably in the next version after 2.6.35.24. Meanwhile, it is possible to manually build newer version of kvm to have the problem fixed. The tar ball of kvm source code could be downloaded from below: http://sourceforge.net/projects/kvm/files/kvm-kmod/2.6.37/ I tried the package on my Ubuntu 10.10 (kernel 2.6.35.23) T61 laptop with Intel Core 2 due 32-bit CPU. Using the new kvm, I could boot up meego kernel successfully. Hope that could help.
