[Bug 799623] [NEW] Incorrect generated logrotate file
Public bug reported: Binary package hint: clamav-daemon Version: 0.96.5+dfsg-1ubuntu1.10.04.2 Sometimes the logrotate conf file (/etc/logrotate.d/clamav-daemon) is incorrectly generated, with a '0' instead of '/var/log/clamav/clamav.log'. See the attached file for a example of bad configuration. I suspect the root cause is in the clamav-daemon.postinst script. In the 'configure' case the logrotate conf file could be generated and I feel the variable 'LogFile' is with a bad value thus printing like 0 in the conf file. Re: [Bug 790789] Re: KVM Guest freezing following Ubuntu update
Seb, I am afraid I shied away from trying the kernel that Serge suggested. This is my main (and only) machine and I did ot feel sufficiently confident with backing out the alternate kernel. I have a workaround for the problem by adding kernel parameters to instruct the guest to use clock=acpi_pm, this fixes the issue. I did attempt to create a new Trixbox image on my machine and this exhibits the same problem. I'm surprised that more people do not suffer from this issue but in truth it is only the Trixbox (Centos 5.4 I believe) image that has caused me problems. Quoting Boris Derzhavets (795...@bugs.launchpad.net): 4. Try same install again with Natty as guest ( for example ) on /dev/sdb7. Virt-manager instead of loading from CD as usual will load from bootable device, which is actually supposed to be overwritten. [Bug 731976] Re: SAMBA - Can't access Windows 7 computer via SAMBA
Update to #22 I actually resolved the problem by reinstalling Windows 7, and - far more important - used Win7-computer-name instead of actual Domain Name to Login. Probably this is the hole point. I'm not sure if under XP the Domain Name *was* the Domain Name and not the computer-name. However this whole thing (in my specific case) looks very likely to be a windows-(or configuration) and not a SMB problem. However if someone tries to connect using WORKGROUP or similar instead of computer-name under domain field this will NOT work. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to samba in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/731976 Title: SAMBA - Can't access Windows 7 computer via SAMBA To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/samba/+bug/731976/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 599342] Re: Temporary failure in name resolution
@Serge correct - for security (and portability) reasons, we've decided to run ssh only and nothing else on the hosts - all other services run on guests - so the host is using one of it's own guests as it's DNS server. It's backup nameservers are on different hosts which are usually up, so we never noticed this issue - but this time, they were not available at the moment we rebooted. The result was all guests failed to start. For now, we've just updated /etc/hosts on each machine to make sure they automatically resolve themselves even without nameservice - this seems to be a decent workaround for now. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libvirt in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/599342 Title: Temporary failure in name resolution To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/599342/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

I'm going to upload refreshed diffs/patches of my work as it is now. First, notes: * Everything is working fine, except the Num Lock won't turn on after logging in. * I've uploaded new packaging to my Virtual Test repo. When it succeeds, I'm going to push Natty Package. For a trial Natty-to-Oneiric upgrade of the package with Natty. * I want to push this (the Proposal) to the main repo by (or after the release of) Alpha 3 (which will be the July packaging). This assumes nothing major changes (like the Toolbox (GUI) getting removed) for the June and July releases. * This will allow me to do a clean install of my open-vm-tools packaging in Alpha 2. And the afore mentioned test to see if the new packaging upgrades successfully with Natty Second, the refreshed package diffs (Part 1). These were done with my working repo and the packaging in the Oneiric (not the Oneiric branch). The Patches we're not applied. ** Patch added: merge-2011.05.27-420096.diff https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/open-vm-tools/+bug/776103/+attachment/2176521/+files/merge-2011.05.27-420096.diff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to open-vm-tools in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/776103 Title: package open-vm-dkms 2011.03.28-387002-0ubuntu2 fails to build against 2.6.39 kernels, due to missing linux/smp_lock.h To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/open-vm-tools/+bug/776103/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 510587] Re: Bind/named does not initialize on boot due to missing IPv6 address
I have a near-identical issue. During boot, this gets logged: named[770]: could not get query source dispatcher (2001:::::xxx#0) named[770]: loading configuration: address not available named[770]: exiting (due to fatal error) Manually starting BIND fixes the issue. This is the named.conf line in question: query-source-v6 address 2001:::::xxx port *; I believe it's because the IPv6 address is marked 'tentative' while the IPv6 duplicate-address-detection process is in progress, and BIND is starting before it's finished. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bind9 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/510587 Title: Bind/named does not initialize on boot due to missing IPv6 address To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bind9/+bug/510587/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 799997] Re: error happen when using virsh to start a vm internal error cannot generate AppArmor profile
Thank you for using Ubuntu and reporting a bug. Unfortunately, the version of libvirt you are using is not a supported version and therefore I am marking this bug as Invalid. If you can reproduce this in a supported version of libvirt, please feel free to reopen, giving detailed instructions on how to reproduce the bug. If you are going to go this route, I recommend removing any unofficial PPAs from your apt sources, then performing: $ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get remove --purge libvirt0 $ sudo apt-get install libvirt-bin (the supported version of libvirt on Ubuntu 10.10 is currently 0.8.3-1ubuntu18). Please note that performing the above will remove existing VM definitions as well as any changes to your libvirt configuration in /etc (which was the intent-- to start with a clean slate). ** Changed in: libvirt (Ubuntu) Status: New = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libvirt in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/77 Title: error happen when using virsh to start a vm internal error cannot generate AppArmor profile To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/77/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 795427] Re: Upgrade Libvirt up to 0.9.1 generates new bug with Virt-Manager
I can't reproduce this in a oneiric vm, using /dev/vdb with lucid as the preinstalled guest. Can you show the /proc/$$/cmdline of the kvm process started by libvirt, as well as 'virsh dumpxml n' where n is the id of the running domain, when you are booting the VM the second time, and expecting to see it boot from cd but seeing it boot from hard disk? (It's possible that /dev/vdb1 versus /dev/vdb might make a difference, or more likely that ide will make the difference) --- Ubuntu Bug Squad volunteer triager http://wiki.ubuntu.com/BugSquad -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libvirt in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/795427 Title: Upgrade Libvirt up to 0.9.1 generates new bug with Virt-Manager To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/libvirt/+bug/795427/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
