[Bug 903752] Re: [MIR] sssd
About the libsemanage dependency; as far as I understand, it's only needed if the host is using SELinux together with sssd configured with a 'local' domain (so that pam_sssd handles local accounts). So if we are not interested in fully supporting SELinux in main, the build-dep could be dropped. ding-libs should be simple, it's just libs that used to be part of sssd but split as an external package so others can use them too. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/903752 Title: [MIR] sssd To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ding-libs/+bug/903752/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 903752] Re: [MIR] sssd
Notes from upstream: 1) The libsemanage dependency can be dropped by passing --without- semanage as an argument to configure. (Similarly, we also have a --without-selinux option that removes the other SELinux features used by the sss_[user|group]_* tools.) These features are available so that when creating users and groups in an SELinux-enabled system, they are always created with the proper security contexts as defined by the system policy. 2) tevent is inextricable from SSSD. We cannot switch to libverto because both SSSD and LDB rely on native features of tevent (specifically its integration with talloc for managing easy cancellation of events) that are simply not available in the standard libverto instance. If you're interested in the reasoning, I wrote a blog post about it almost two years ago: http://sgallagh.wordpress.com/2010/03/17 /why-you-should-use-talloc-for-your-next-project/ libverto is a useful tool for use as a general-purpose mainloop interface, but there will always be cases of projects that prefer to use specific loops for the additional features it can offer.
[Bug 900972] Re: lxc instance console output spewed to stdout
I haven't yet looked back at your image, but I think this has to do with devtmpfs being mounted. I do believe this affects both lxc and libvirt (+lxc), but your reproduction of it happens with libvirt, right? The tool creating containers (lxc or libvirt) has to mount a private instance of devpts on /dev/pts, after unmounting the host's version. After that, every subsequent mount of devpts will be the private instance. So what I need to figure out is where does the /dev/pts/0 from the host's devpts instance come from? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/900972 Title: lxc instance console output spewed to stdout To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/nova/+bug/900972/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Do you want me to test another mechanism ? Thanks, but no thanks. While it's not 100% conclusive, this certainly suggests that the bug may be in the driver in qemu. Blueprint changed by Robbie Williamson: Whiteboard changed: Session notes: 12.04 STABILITY - Survive zookeeper reboots, transient network failures, bug fixes, etc. - user experience work around the cli. CO-LOCATION / Master-Slave - deploying additional services into an existing service unit container, ie logging, monitoring, additional config management. Charm Store and Client Integration Placement / Resource Constraints - Specify resource constraints utilized when allocating/acquiring a machine. ie. deploy hadoop with 16gb of ram. Deploy a unit of mongodb in a different data center. Deploy a unit of a service along side an existing (not in the same container). External Zookeeper option for HA for 12.04 juju add-machine for standby machines ready to do service/unit deployments REST API (nice to have, will definitely happen, unsure for 12.04) ACTIONS - Start using blue prints - final roadmap to the list Questions/Comments: This doesn't yet seem drafted? -- Daviey We need to translate the juju project blueprints[1] into workitems -- Robbie [1] https://blueprints.launchpad.net/juju + + Linked bugs that correspond to the feature work outlined above --Robbie -- Juju Roadmap for 12.04 https://blueprints.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+spec/servercloud-p-juju-roadmap -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 907816] [NEW] libapache2-mod-php5 forgets timezone definition after some time
Public bug reported: Under libapache2-mod-php5 5.3.2-1ubuntu4.10 (as provided by Lucid LTS release) php scripts tend to forget timezone after some time. The timezone is correctly set in the /etc/php5/conf.d/timezone.ini file: [Date] date.timezone=UTC It works properly for several hours after restart of apache. At some point the libapache2-mod-php5 forgets the definition and starts thinking that it's timezone is America/Chicago. The problem does not occur if php is run using CLI. Also the problem occurs only on one of my servers. It is not reproducible on other similar servers. See attached php script for demonstration of the problem. To see the problem, upload the php script to some server and start polling it as follows: while [ 1 ]; do wget -O - --quiet http://badmachine.yourcompany.com/print_timezone.php; sleep 10; echo -n .; done Once you see + in the output, this means the problem exists. ** Affects: apache2 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/907816 Title: libapache2-mod-php5 forgets timezone definition after some time To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/907816/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 907828] [NEW] tun-based VPNs using the subnet topology are wrongly sending ICMP redirects
Public bug reported: When a tun-based VPN is using the subnet topology, the communication between clients can confuse the routing code that will wrongly emit ICMP redirects. This problem is very well described here http://backreference.org/2010/05/02/controlling-client-to-client- connections-in-openvpn/. The same link also provides the workaround (disable ICMP redirect on the TUN device). This problem affects Lucid to Precise (Hardy's version does not support the subnet mode). [Bug 907620] Re: package slapd 2.4.21-0ubuntu5.6 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. You said that you weren't happy with the configuration before you removed slapd. Does this mean that you believe that the configuration was broken, and you are attempting to clear out the configuration and start again? Are you familiar between the difference between the removed and purged states? Instead of apt-get remove slapd ldap-utils, are you able to try apt-get remove --purge slapd ldap-utils? Note that this will wipe all configuration of slapd and ldap-utils, so make a backup first if you need these. Could you please clarify if the bug that you are reporting is that you can't reinstall slapd from a clean slate, or if something else, then what exactly?
