[Bug 1026621] Re: nova-network gets release_fixed_ip events from someplace, but the database still keeps them associated with instances
@Adam: Bug #1006898 seems unlikely IMHO. We are not running with 'multi_host' nor with VLANS. So there is one dnsmasq process. The following is just conjecture as the event has rotated out of the logs and I have not done any further testing. These events happen rather infrequently, but are a significant annoyance to be noticed. The dnsmasq(8) man page implies that dnsmasq will block while running the dhcp-script. Ordinarily this would not be a problem for individual leases, however if the daemon receives a HUP signal it will parse the current lease database and run the dhcp-script with the 'old' action for each lease. Assuming the above is correct and we have a dnsmasq lease file of 200 records and a runtime of 0.15s per invocationĀ¹ of dhcp-script, then the daemon could be blocking for up to 30 seconds (or longer). If a host was renewing an expired lease at the time, it is conceivable that the lease may expire. The default lease length is 120s which seems to correlate with the logs provided above. I am not sure if any of this helps. [Bug 1034228] Re: maas-enlist script hard codes the path to the maas server
The reason why the API path was hardcoded is because maas-enlist was intended to be used against a MAAS server deployed from the Debian package. This meant that the API path would not change. Other reasons are because in the preseed (in cobbler world) we were only able to send the IP address of the MAAS server. Finally, for simplicity reasons (and manual enlistment) it was decided to only pass the hostname/ip address when enlistment. Now, based on the discussion on IRC and to maintain backward compatibility, the new approach will be: 1. If maas-enlist gets passed only the 'hostname/ip address' of the MAAS server, then it will automatically add '/MAAS/api/1.0/nodes' as default API path. 2. If maas-enlist gets passed a URL with the API path, it will override the default value and the URL will be used instead. By doing so, we ensure that we maintain backwards compatibility. I'm more than happy to fix this. I have assigned this to me. ** Changed in: maas-enlist (Ubuntu) Assignee: (unassigned) = Andres Rodriguez (andreserl) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas-enlist in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1034228 Title: maas-enlist script hard codes the path to the maas server To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1034228/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Previously I had a very nice app called Streeme, which I used to listen to my music anywhere. It uses a framework called Symfony (Streeme requires Symfony =1.4), and hooks into a mySQL database where it stores all of it's 'stuff' (library info, paths, users, etc). I have a working PHP5 and mySQL setup on the machine. This is verified by the use of eGroupware and phpMyAdmin (plus PHP scripts which will happily talk to the mySQL database using mysql_connect()). Four weeks ago the Apache2 webserver apache2 was replaced in place with the apache2 -mtm-itk package to allow the webserver to function with different UIDs. This was reversed two weeks ago, but the problem still exists. Before, during and after there was no issue with mySQL access through phpMyAdmin or eGroupware, or a PHP script. Attempting to revive Streeme after the upgrade (not everything works directly after an upgrade and from experience a new Streeme installation is preferable to stitching an old one together, although I don't know why- plus the hard drive with all the music on it got a kicking from which it could not recover, so I might as well start again!) has totally failed with the error: Couldn't locate driver named mysql Obviously this is a symfony framework error. However, I know that mysql should be available. After some investigation, it turns out Symfony uses PDO (particularly pdo_mysql) to access the database (and, in turn, during a media scan or doctrine installation (think bootstrapping) PHP directs Symfony). Further investigation directed me to check that the pdo was enabled correctly, so please see the following from php_info(): Loaded Configuration File /etc/php5/apache2/php.ini .ini files parsed: ... /etc/php5/apache2/conf.d/pdo_mysql.ini ... There are compiler warnings: fcgiapp.c:1490:13: warning: dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing rules [-Wstrict-aliasing] fcgiapp.c:1495:9: warning: dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing rules [-Wstrict-aliasing] fcgiapp.c:1498:9: warning: dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing rules [-Wstrict-aliasing] os_unix.c:1175:54: warning: pointer targets in passing argument 3 of 'accept' differ in signedness [-Wpointer-sign] os_unix.c:1275:35: warning: pointer targets in passing argument 3 of 'getpeername' differ in signedness [-Wpointer-sign] cgi-fcgi.c:390:13: warning: dereferencing type-punned pointer will break strict-aliasing rules [-Wstrict-aliasing] cgi-fcgi.c:461:5: warning: cast to pointer from integer of different size [-Wint-to-pointer-cast] cgi-fcgi.c:477:4: warning: cast to pointer from integer of different size [-Wint-to-pointer-cast] cgi-fcgi.c:643:9: warning: format '%d' expects argument of type 'int', but argument 3 has type 'size_t' [-Wformat] cgi-fcgi.c:725:9: warning: variable 'numFDs' set but not used [-Wunused-but-set-variable] threaded.c:27:28: warning: cast from pointer to integer of different size [-Wpointer-to-int-cast] threaded.c:80:44: warning: cast to pointer from integer of different size [-Wint-to-pointer-cast] A shallow code audit reveals that this is using old C coding styles using low level C routines rather than higher level libraries that are safe. That said, old code does not necessarily mean bad code and in this case it means mature, working code that is in production. * malloc: Malloc() is implemented and it does proper error checking and aborts on error. malloc() is also used here and there, and return codes checked and exited. * strcpy: there are a lot of uses of strcpy without checks. Ones in libfcgi/os_unix.c and cgi-fcgi.c look to not be attacker controlled and are also covered by stack-protector. There is also a StringCopy() that is safe. * memcpy: spot checked: seemed generally ok * sprintf: fcgiapp.c:FCGX_VFPrintF() has a lot of sprintf usage and while there are efforts to ensure the allocated buffer is correct, it is a very complicated loop with many branches. I am not saying the code is wrong, but I am saying I don't have high confidence there aren't any bugs in this section. Thankfully, it looks like if there is a bug, it will happen on the stack and stack-protector would provide protections here. * getenv: not seeing any input validation here, but the code seems ok. My preference to keep this out of main because it doesn't seem strategic itself and the application needs it as a build-dep is also not strategic and resides in universe (and this is not likely to change (see ceph MIR)). If this is critically important to the server team (I'll let them decide), then conditional ACK on all compiler warnings are addressed. ** Changed in: libfcgi (Ubuntu) Status: Triaged = In Progress ** Changed in: libfcgi (Ubuntu) Assignee: Jamie Strandboge (jdstrand) = James Page (james-page) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libfcgi in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1017978 Title: [MIR] libfcgi, ceph (radosgw) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/+bug/1017978/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1018001] Re: Please sync rabbitmq-server 2.8.4 from Debian
@Emile bug948993 asks for the deletion of *source* packages, because the *binary* packages for rabbitmq-erlang-client and rabbitmq-stomp were added, as a Delta, in the Ubuntu source package of rabbitmq. Meaning that those packages were no longer source packages shipping 1 binary package, but rather the source package of rabbitmq shipped those two binary packages. However, I see that the sync was carried when it shouldn't probably have happened. I'll investigate further and re-add the detal if necessary.
