[Bug 1023931]
CVE-2012-3867 (http://nvd.nist.gov/nvd.cfm?cvename=CVE-2012-3867): lib/puppet/ssl/certificate_authority.rb in Puppet before 2.6.17 and 2.7.x before 2.7.18, and Puppet Enterprise before 2.5.2, does not properly restrict the characters in the Common Name field of a Certificate Signing Request (CSR), which makes it easier for user-assisted remote attackers to trick administrators into signing a crafted agent certificate via ANSI control sequences. CVE-2012-3866 (http://nvd.nist.gov/nvd.cfm?cvename=CVE-2012-3866): lib/puppet/defaults.rb in Puppet 2.7.x before 2.7.18, and Puppet Enterprise before 2.5.2, uses 0644 permissions for last_run_report.yaml, which allows local users to obtain sensitive configuration information by leveraging access to the puppet master server to read this file. CVE-2012-3865 (http://nvd.nist.gov/nvd.cfm?cvename=CVE-2012-3865): Directory traversal vulnerability in lib/puppet/reports/store.rb in Puppet before 2.6.17 and 2.7.x before 2.7.18, and Puppet Enterprise before 2.5.2, when Delete is enabled in auth.conf, allows remote authenticated users to delete arbitrary files on the puppet master server via a .. (dot dot) in a node name. CVE-2012-3864 (http://nvd.nist.gov/nvd.cfm?cvename=CVE-2012-3864): Puppet before 2.6.17 and 2.7.x before 2.7.18, and Puppet Enterprise before 2.5.2, allows remote authenticated users to read arbitrary files on the puppet master server by leveraging an arbitrary user's certificate and private key in a GET request. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to puppet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1023931 Title: (CVE-2012-3864) puppet: multiple vulnerabilities for 2.7.17 and earlier releases (CVE-(2012-{3408,3864,3865,3866,3867}) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/puppet/+bug/1023931/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1017978] Re: [MIR] libfcgi, ceph (radosgw)
Thanks for the review Jamie. I think that it is still worth enabling this feature for ceph even if it is in Universe; I'm concerned that as soon as a user wants to try out/use the RADO gateway they are forced to either cut their own package or revert to using upstream packages (which although in itself is not bad it drives users away from the distro for supported components). Also in time this may become more of a strategic feature as/when integration with keystone is delivered and the RADOS gateway can be integrated more tightly into Openstack. I've review/resolved most of the compiler warnings and submitted back upstream; the only two I have left are the two in example/threaded.c - this is only an example and AFAICT the casting int - void* should be OK as it relates to both ends of the same pthread_create call and associated function. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to libfcgi in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1017978 Title: [MIR] libfcgi, ceph (radosgw) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/ceph/+bug/1017978/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1017972] Re: [MIR] google-perftools, libunwind
Michael My last upload enabled test suite execution for amd64 and i386 architectures; powerpc has some test failures which I think are related to the maturity of support for powerpc in this package upstream (4/44 tests fail). [Bug 959352] Re: Ephemeral containers have /rootfs prefix in /proc/self/maps entries
I tried doing 'ln -s . rootfs' in container q1, then did lxc-start- ephemeral -o q1, logged in, and checked /proc/self/maps. It still listed /rootfs/. Of course the paths will now resolve. I'm not sure that suffices. If it does, we could temporarily create that symbolic link in the ubuntu templates. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/959352 Title: Ephemeral containers have /rootfs prefix in /proc/self/maps entries To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/linux/+bug/959352/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 959352] Re: Ephemeral containers have /rootfs prefix in /proc/self/maps entries
I'm quite clearly against adding this hack to lxc-ubuntu and lxc-ubuntu- cloud as since with 12.04, we're saying that a chroot filesystem is identical to a stock ubuntu filesystem, which would no longer be true with the workaround. Instead, I guess we could get that hack into lxc-start-ephemeral with the proper checks (in case the rootfs is read-only for example), but I still consider that a pretty ugly hack and would rather the source of the problem be fixed...
