[Bug 1076286] Re: Puppet agent not correcly configuring facts synch'd from master

2012-11-16 Thread Andrea Biancini
Hi Matthaus,
I just re-executed the operations described. I work with master and agent on
two different machines.
On the agent machine the /etc/puppet/puppet.conf is as follows:

[main]
logdir=/var/log/puppet
vardir=/var/lib/puppet
ssldir=/var/lib/puppet/ssl
rundir=/var/run/puppet
factpath=$vardir/lib/facter
templatedir=$confdir/templates
prerun_command=/etc/puppet/etckeeper-commit-pre
postrun_command=/etc/puppet/etckeeper-commit-post

[agent]
server=puppet.example.com
report=true
pluginsync=true
runinterval=1800

Now the outputs:
# Cleanup
root@puppetclient:~# rm -Rf /tmp/puppettest
root@puppetclient:~# rm -Rf /var/lib/puppet/lib/

# Puppet Run
root@puppetclient:~# puppet agent -t

[Bug 1066845] Re: nova-novncproxy is not running; missing deps on websockify and novnc

2012-11-16 Thread Eduard Eleonora
Hi James,
Thnx for your help but, I can't check that anymore I've changed the package
repository and now everything works. The package repository Folsom Trunk
Testing from
:https://launchpad.net/~openstack-ubuntu-testing/+archive/folsom-trunk-testing
has this problem.
The packages repository: http://ubuntu-cloud.archive.canonical.com/ubuntu
precise-updates/folsom works fine. So the missing dependencies are in the
package repository folsom-trunk-testing.

[Bug 1077874] Re: installation of ipvsadm is broken : unknown template field, can't dpkg-reconfigure

2012-11-16 Thread Joris
Hello Robie,

In fact, this is the following message from David :
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=685577#65

and the answer from Alexander (ipvsadm debian maintainer) :
http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=685577#70

The truth is ipvsadm is working fine besides those little errors while
installing.

Best regards,
Joris

[Bug 1079611] [NEW] Download Juju Environment Config gives wrong credentials

2012-11-16 Thread Thomas Leonard
Public bug reported:

When I download the Juju configuration using Download Juju Environment
Config in the dashboard, the EC2 credentials (combined-key and
secret-key) are wrong. If I download using Download EC2 Credentials
then they are correct.

Comparing the code for these two, they are suspiciously difference:

EC2:

def find_or_create_access_keys(request, tenant_id):
keys = api.keystone.list_ec2_credentials(request, request.user.id)
for key in keys:
if key.tenant_id == tenant_id:
return key
return api.keystone.create_ec2_credentials(request,

Juju:

def find_or_create_access_keys(request, tenant_id):
keys = api.keystone.list_ec2_credentials(request, request.user.id)
if keys:
return keys[0]
else:
return api.keystone.create_ec2_credentials(request,

Copying the EC2 logic into the Juju file fixes it. This is with version
2012.2-0ubuntu2~cloud0, but it looks like its the same in trunk.

Thanks,

Dear Joseph Salisbury,

I have tested with kernel 3.7.0-030700rc5-generic.  'kernel-bug-exists-

Is it possible that the sensor 'CPU_TEMP_LOCAL' (new in Ubuntu 12.10) is

2012-11-16 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in
Ubuntu, so I'm marking this bug as Invalid.

Specifically, you have mysql-client-5.5 5.5.27-1~ppa1~precise installed.
This has caused your problem but is not part of an official Ubuntu
release.

You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful
to read How to report bugs effectively
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,
and then change the bug status back to New.

[Bug 1016895] Re: smbd crashed with SIGABRT in dump_core()/setgroups being passed a -1 group is causing crashes.

2012-11-16 Thread Daniel Lee
I have a bug 1075670 that is apparently a duplicate of this one.
Normally you shouldn't be hitting this bug in precise which runs 3.2 but
with the rolling release plan 3.5 is now in the precise repos and is
intended to be made default. It's been several a couple months now with
no update to samba in precise so hopefully this comment will put this
issue back on the radar.

[Bug 1057024] Re: kvm kernel module always loaded, without setting /dev/kvm permissions

2012-11-16 Thread Parameswaran Sivatharman
Tested for verification on a 20121016 (12.04.1) install fully updated
amd64 system.

The original bug could not be reproduced in this. With the version 1.0
+noroms-0ubuntu14.3 the following is the output of getfacl /dev/kvm

getfacl: Removing leading '/' from absolute path names
# file: dev/kvm
# owner: root
# group: kvm
user::rw-
user:ubuntu:rw-
group::rw-
mask::rw-
other::---

In anycase, the new proposed version (1.0+noroms-0ubuntu14.4) is also
giving the exact same output above for getfacl /dev/kvm. Hence marking
the fix as verification done

[Bug 1079794] [NEW] sudo: unable to resolve host.. when creating ubuntu-cloud container

2012-11-16 Thread rintcius
Public bug reported:

I am getting messages like this with every sudo I do in a fresh
container:

sudo: unable to resolve host test.lxc

It happens with every container I create on 12.10 with 12.10 container
and ubuntu-cloud template.

Reproduction:

lxc-create -t ubuntu-cloud -n test.lxc -- --auth-key
$HOME/.ssh/id_rsa.pub --userdata /root/my-userdata

with a simple userdata file like this:

#!/bin/sh
ifconfig eth0  /ifconfig-eth0

See discussion details on this thread:
http://sourceforge.net/mailarchive/message.php?msg_id=30105268

Note that there is an easy workaround by adding the container name to
/etc/hosts yourself.

[Bug 990102] [NEW] /var/log/upstart is missing

2012-11-16 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

I'm not sure if this is the right place to submit this bug, but I
created a new EC2 instance last night using the official Canonical AMI
for Precise (ami-a29943cb), and I found that /var/log/upstart was

results in the following daily error from logrotate:

error: error accessing /var/log/upstart: No such file or directory
error: upstart:1 glob failed for /var/log/upstart/*.log

[Bug 1079941] [NEW] -v version output is broken

2012-11-16 Thread Dan Mick
Public bug reported:

ceph -v output is broken in ceph package version 0.48.2-0ubuntu2. This is
supposed to get built during any make from
git revparse, which is stored in .git_version, which is then processed by
make_version into ceph_ver.h, included in the
sources.

Investigating, it seems as though the source package orig.tar.gz does not
contain the file, whereas what we thought we
delivered to the location in debian/watch does. That file in the source tree
contains

version=3
http://ceph.com/download/ceph-(\d.*)\.tar\.gz

However, I note that when I fetch the quantal source package with 'pull-
lp-source ceph quantal', the debian/watch file in that package points
somewhere else entirely:

version=3
https://github.com/ceph/ceph/tags .*/tarball/v(\d[\d\.]+).* debian
debian/orig-tar.sh

That location appears not to exist anymore (perhaps github reorganized?)
but in any event it's not where we expect the authoritative delivery to
live.

I don't know how or why debian/watch is changed.
