[Bug 1078074] Re: [SRU] Update walinuxagent to version 1.1

2012-12-07 Thread Adam Conrad
I've resurrected this to precise-proposed. Not going to do quantal just
yet for two reasons: (a) I want to have a discussion with the folks who
felt removing this was the right thing and, (b) I'll need to review
quantal's upload, since it was not accepted by ~ubuntu-sru the first
time around.

[Bug 997978] Re: KVM images lose connectivity with bridged network

2012-12-07 Thread Serge Hallyn
But otherwise it sounds like it looked the same - VM still up but its
network down?

Had these VMs been running for 50 days, or was it that you hadn't seen
the problem in 50 days? If the latter, could these have been on a newer
kernel?

 Yes actually I did fix that in a later boothook, but this is after I

 I see. So messing with the cloud.cfg broke the system. My bad.

 Thanks for the time Scott and sorry for sending you on a wild goose chase.
 That info on making a preserve-hostname.cfg and apt_preserve_sources_list
 file is brilliant!! Exactly what I need. I didn't come across this in docos.
 Any links to this to what I have missed reading?

Probably not. :-(
Generally, though the config parsing goes:
 * /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg
 * /etc/cloud/cloud.cfg.d/*.cfg  # in C locale sorted order
 * user-data-cloud-config , parsed in order seen.

fwiw, under bug 1023179, we're hoping to make the merge cloud-config
more sane. Right now, it basically only overrides. Ie, if 2 files have
'runcmd' defined, the last one wins.

Thanks for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu
better. We appreciate the difficulties you are facing, but this appears
to be a regular (non-security) bug. I have unmarked it as a security
issue since this bug does not show evidence of allowing attackers to
cross privilege boundaries nor directly cause loss of data/privacy.
Please feel free to report any other bugs you may find.

[Bug 1003854] Re: Database upgrade/migration fails with nested db directories (lucid to precise)

2012-12-07 Thread Rolf Leggewie
Lucid to precise is very much a supported update path. Can you try to
get your patch included in Debian? We should then backport the patch to
raring and precise.
