Samba seems to segfault at random intervals for no apparent (to me) reason. 
Below is a backtrace.

I'm really not sure what to say beyond this. If someone will let me

[Bug 1088160] Re: ovs-brcompatd: could not open brcompat socket. Check brcompat kernel module.

After I applied the path I was able to compile and install module
brcompat.ko, but after openvswitch restart I still get same error
message:

# service openvswitch-switch start

 * Configuring Open vSwitch system IDs
 * Starting ovs-vswitchd
ovs-brcompatd: could not open brcompat socket.  Check brcompat kernel module.
 * Starting ovs-brcompatd
