Since it looks like a kernel bug, I tried reproducing this with kernel 3.5.0, version 3.5.0-21.32~precise1. I could reproduce the faulty paths that multipathd was unable to remove, however: there were no hanging processes this time and thus no kernel crash.. which is an improvement. I'm not familiar with apport output, but it seems to indicate the conf file in question was changed. I never made any direct changes to the logrotate conf file. Apparently the way maas in precise does csrf is incompatible with django
1.4. [0] Downgrading back to 1.3.1-4ubuntu1.4 worked. I ultimately
removed cloud-archive and its packages from the MAAS server since we
were just using it to test folsom on an openstack juju deployment and it
wasn't strictly needed, but I imagine that will be a common occurrence
going forward for others.

I tried using this patch on essex on an environment which got already corrupted, will it only work on new installations? I thought it should fix a corrupted environment? The environment is built from source though and the patch has been applied individually.
