[Bug 1033727] Re: USB passthrough doesn't work anymore with qemu-kvm 1.1.1
Thank you very much Peter for the work you did. That is not of historic interest, not at all - it is of a good value for Debian users! And thank you Nikolaus for the testing, as well! I take your (both of you!) words that the problem is now solved, and am uploading new release to debian archives right now. At least it didn't break things for me, -- I tested the resulting build and it works with my usb devices, there's no immediately visible regression. [Bug 1099401] [NEW] samba maps guest users to reserved user nobody
Public bug reported: The reserved system user nobody should never be the owner of files. This ensures that an access granted with the least privileged nobody user will never be able to access or even corrupt files on the system. The nobody user may not even be suited for granting public read access, if it is intended to just run unprivileged local deamons. Samba however creates files as the nobody user when samba guests are allowed to create files (e.g. a public share). Expected: Samba gets configured to use an appropriate user id for guests that are able to create files. This may be a samba specific user, e.g. guest user = smbguest to show the origin of the file, together with guest group = users (to which all local users should belong, bug #253103). The latter enables all system users to access/modify/delete the files of smbguest also directly on the filesystem (without going through samba shares that may have been enabled only temporarily). ** Affects: samba (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Description changed: - - The reserved system user nobody should never be the owner of files. [Bug 573919] Re: NIS-based autofs maps don't load on startup
In reference to LDAP, it probably is the same bug, if you're using autofs-ldap which is part of the same source package then you can have you auto.master in LDAP, so you probably don't have openldap running locally, but require the network to be working before starting autofs to do ldap queries to find out the auto.master. I am effected by this problem, restarting the autofs service after the network is up makes it work, I do not have openldap running locally on client machines using autofs. the fix in #569757 will probably not help autofs-ldap users. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to autofs in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/573919 Title: NIS-based autofs maps don't load on startup To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autofs/+bug/573919/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
