[Bug 1190154] [NEW] please backport the missing logrotage file for the php5-fpm package
Public bug reported: This isse was reported in bug 706945 in 2011 already but closed as Won't Fix with the weird explanation php5-fpm has been removed from upstream so im closing this bug. php5-fpm is obviously still in Ubuntu/Debian in 2013 and is still missing a logrotate file. I noticed this because of a rather big php5-fpm file on a busy staging server. There is one available in Debian's php5-fpm 5.4.11-1; it would be great if that file could be backported to the package in precise (currently 5.3.10-1ubuntu3.6). [Bug 1190154] Re: please backport the missing logrotage file for the php5-fpm package

[Bug 1190154] Re: please backport the missing logrotage file for the php5-fpm package
Thinking about it, adding log rotation would just start rotating an already large file. I don't see regression potential except where existing users are already managing the log file in some other way (perhaps as a result of it not having log rotation previously?) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1190154 Title: please backport the missing logrotage file for the php5-fpm package To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1190154/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1190154] Re: please backport the missing logrotage file for the php5-fpm package
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Fixing this in Precise would need to go through the SRU procedure https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure and comply with SRU policy (https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#When). I'm not sure whether adding a new logrotate file would comply SRU policy or not. Comments appreciated. If you think that this does meet SRU policy, then please comment with a justification against https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#When and complete steps 1 through 4 in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates#Procedure - and go ahead with all the steps if you can. Note that that SRU team would need to make a final decision. ** Changed in: php5 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Confirmed ** Changed in: php5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1190154 Title: please backport the missing logrotage file for the php5-fpm package To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1190154/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1190154] Re: please backport the missing logrotage file for the php5-fpm package
I'm not sure if it is worth a backport either, just wanted to bring this up. I had to cope with a rather large log file which ate disk space but generally (aka in production) the php5-fpm.log doesn't grow very much and AFAIK is rewound on each restart, too. It would make my life easier though because now I deploy the attached logrotate script manually :) -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1190154 Title: please backport the missing logrotage file for the php5-fpm package To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1190154/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1188850] Re: cgrulesengd cannot process symlinked executables
Thanks, ojab - tried out your testcase, worked like a charm. (For manual reproduction, I'd recommend sleeping 20 rather than 2) ** Description changed: Oh hai! Keep in mind that 100GB+ of disk is required to run the test. This affects the qemu-kvm version in Precise, but is fixed in Quantal and beyond. It is expected that running the test case results in no disk corruption; however we detect corruption on Precise. Running git bisect on this test finds that commit 68d100e905453ebbeea8e915f4f18a2bd4339fe8 introduced the problem between v0.15.0 and v1.0. Running git bisect in reverse finds that commit b7ab0fea37c15ca9e249c42c46f5c48fd1a0943c fixes the issue between v1.1.2 and v1.2.0. However, b7ab0fea cannot be easily backported to v1.0 and 68d100e9 is a large change to revert. [Bug 1185261] Re: MaaS nodes being enlisted with multiple network cards fail to commission
The only section where I see this would affect would be ipmi autodetection. Do the nodes in Ready state have CPU/Memory values? Now, MAAS requires Internet access (or archive access in such case) in order to be able to obtain packages and be able to install the packages it needs. I'm assuming that this is the same case for the Debian Installer. Unfortunately, this is not really a bug in MAAS itself. During the commissioning process, it is cloud-init the one in charge of configuring network interfaces. Cloud-init only waits (and configures) DHCP on BOOTIF (being this the network interface where it is PXE booting from), and does not configure any other network interface. This means that if your MAAS network does not have external network access, then the commissioning environment wont be able to install packages because the network it PXE Booted from will be the only configured network interface. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to maas in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1185261 Title: MaaS nodes being enlisted with multiple network cards fail to commission To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/maas/+bug/1185261/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
