[Bug 1196518] Re: lxc-start failed with lxc_cgroup - Invalid argument - write /sys/fs/cgroup/devices/lxc/NAME/devices.deny : Invalid argument with kernel 3.10

2013-07-04 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
I'm reopening because I can reproduce it on different hardware, but it
doesn't fail when running the same command twice and it seems a bit
racy. I'm searching for a way to reliably reproduce that problem.

[Bug 1197754] [NEW] lxc-start-ephemeral -d is racy

2013-07-04 Thread Robie Basak
Public bug reported:

A script cannot call lxc-start-ephemeral and get a named container in a
reliable, race-free way.

Having the caller specify a name directly is racy, since the name could
have been taken in between checking that it doesn't exist already and
calling lxc-start-ephemeral.

Allowing lxc-start-ephemeral allows it to take care of the mkdir (and
retries) to generate an LXC container name in a race free manner, but
this needs -d to return the name in a machine-readable way, so that we
can create ephemeral LXC containers from scripts.

Please add a machine-readable mechanism to lxc-start-ephemeral -d and
then we can modify adt-virt-lxc to use it.

[Bug 1196518] Re: lxc-start failed with lxc_cgroup - Invalid argument - write /sys/fs/cgroup/devices/lxc/NAME/devices.deny : Invalid argument with kernel 3.10

2013-07-04 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
With otto from lp:otto I can reproduce the problem with the command:
$ sudo ./bin/otto -d create -u lp1196518-$RANDOM
~/iso/ubuntu/saucy-desktop-amd64.iso

The write(fd, value, strlen(value)) in do_cgroup_set in cgroup.c fails
with Invalid Argument

If the command is executed a second time with the same container name
(replace $RANDOM by the number generated previoulsly), it works fine.

For the moment, the workaround is to remove lxc.cgroup.devices.deny from
the config file, which is okay in our case since the machines are just
test hosts, but is not in the general case.

10.0.10.10.54510  10.0.0.6.161: [bad udp cksum 0x1e5a - 0xa2d0!]  {
SNMPv1 { GetRequest(34) R=1587461727  .1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.1.1.1.0 } }

If I query the UPS with the same OID, but v3 protocol, I get a normal
response from the UPS:

$ snmpget -Cf -v 3 -u apc_ups_1_authpriv -l authPriv -a MD5 -A 'auth password
obfuscated' -X 'priv password obfuscated' 10.0.0.6
.1.3.6.1.4.1.318.1.1.1.1.1.1.0
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.318.1.1.1.1.1.1.0 = STRING: Smart-UPS 3000 RM

So I think snmp-ups is querying the wrong OIDs somehow, or something else is
not right.
Also might be relevant, my authPriv passwords have special characters in them,
like dots, colons, semicolons, parents, dashes, more/less, equals). The
passwords obviously work with the normal snmpget command. There is no mention
in the documentation, config files or man pages whether qouting is required
around the passwords in ups.conf when using passwords containing special
characters, so I tried them plain, double or single quoted with no difference.

2013-07-04 Thread Arnaud Quette
Have you tried without mentioning mibs=apcc in ups.conf?

[Bug 1196518] Re: lxc-start failed with lxc_cgroup - Invalid argument - write /sys/fs/cgroup/devices/lxc/NAME/devices.deny : Invalid argument with kernel 3.10

2013-07-04 Thread Jean-Baptiste Lallement
Here is a minimal test case to reproduce the problem:

NAME=test-deny-${RANDOM}
echo lxc.hook.mount = /usr/share/lxc/hooks/mountcgroups  /tmp/${NAME}.lxc
lxc-create -t ubuntu -n $NAME -f /tmp/${NAME}.lxc -- -r saucy
lxc-start -n $NAME

From what I understand, setting devices.deny or .allow = a is forbidden in
3.10 when a cgroup has children. And the hook mountcgroup creates a child
called NAME.real.
This line comes from a default configuration file in raring.

This is a change in behavior between 3.9 and 3.10 and a bit confusing.
Feel free to close if you think it is not a bug.

[Bug 1198021] [NEW] /static apache2 alias should probably be /horizon/static

2013-07-04 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Using 2013.1.

The openstack-dashboard package puts the Horizon WSGI at /horizon but
doesn't change the default static URL from /static. This causes
conflicts if something already lives at /static.
