Re: [Bug 1180777] Re: Windows 7 VM freeze on Ubuntu 12.04 KVM
Hi Serge, I performed the experiment you suggested: 1) Connected with RDP client 2) Worked until it hanged 3) Successfully connected to the VM via virt-manager (RDP client still freezed) 4) Verified that Windows is still connected to the network 5) Successfully pinged my host IP from within the VM (ping 192.168.122.1) So it doesn't seem to be a network disconnect issue. Can you think of anything else? Thanks! Could you please start the VM, run RDP until it hangs, then connect with vnc and use the windows network admin commands to see what windows thinks is going on? I.e. does it think it is still connected to a network? If not, can you simply reconnect, or do you have to restart the driver, or do you have to restart the VM altogether? [Bug 954620] Re: SSH StrictModes does not work correctly

[Bug 1204459] [NEW] Please package drbd tools v8.4 for use with Precice LTS Enablement Stacks
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 12.04.3 is due in august and, as part of the LTS Enablement Stack program, it will ship with Raring's kernel 3.8 This new kernel includes DRBD v8.4.2, but the DRBD utils shipped in Precise are version 8.3.11. They will not work with the new kernel: please check Bug #1132302 for the expected symptoms. Would you please upload a package for DRBD utils v8.4.x for use with the backported kernel ? The tools v8.3 must remain available too, so the new package should named something else, maybe drbd8-utils-lts-raring . If this cannot be done in time for 12.04.3 (or not at all), I suggest it should be clearly stated in the release notes that DRBD users using the 12.04.3 CD/DVD should revert to the Quantal LTS Enablement Stack. [Bug 592434] Re: ssh -X user@machine hangs when using exit to terminate
This is really a dbus issue, not a SSH issue: see http://serverfault.com/questions/405518/how-to-configure-d-bus-and-ssh-x-forwarding-to-prevent-ssh-from-hanging-on-exit Gedit for whatever reason is looking for an active dbus-session and running `dbus-launch --autostart' if none was found. But `dbus-launch --autostart' doesn't watch the user session and therefore ssh hangs while waiting dbus-launch to quit. A workaround is to run 'dbus-launch --exit-with-session' when you first connect over SSH. [Bug 1172467] Re: Dnsmasq caches negative results if it starts before the network is up
Hi Simon, I think we've established that the submitter is having a problem with dnsmasq server, not with NetworkManager-controlled dnsmasq. So it would be interesting to know if clear-on-reload fixes the submitter's problem. (He already said that no-negcache fixes it.) That clear-on-reload is ignored in the D-Bus case sounds like a distinct issue. What about Stéphane's suggestion that dnsmasq treats failure to find a name in /etc/hosts as a NXDOMAIN? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dnsmasq in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1172467 Title: Dnsmasq caches negative results if it starts before the network is up To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dnsmasq/+bug/1172467/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1204662] [NEW] Language pack installation should be optional
Public bug reported: In lines 182 to 184, there should be a config option that toggles the installation of additional language packs. [Bug 1202839] Re: qemu-bridge-helper missing from qemu-kvm or elsewhere
Note that in quantal that file is shipped without CAP_NET_ADMIN and not suid-root. Therefore it was useless to its intended purpose there. The point of that file is to allow unprivileged users to create tap devices for their VMs. You can create tap devices yourself for that purpose easily, or use libvirt to do it for you. Shipping this file and a bridge.conf configuration file isn't out of the question, but would need to be vetted by the security team. ** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Wishlist ** Changed in: qemu-kvm (Ubuntu) Status: New = Triaged -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu-kvm in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1202839 Title: qemu-bridge-helper missing from qemu-kvm or elsewhere To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu-kvm/+bug/1202839/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
