[Bug 1210936] [NEW] Warnings in munin-graph.log during each graph rendering run

2013-08-11 Thread Thomas Heidrich
Public bug reported:

Hi,

I'm using Ubuntu 12.04.2 and noticed that the monitoring tool Munin
writes a large amount of warnings into /var/log/munin/munin-graph.log.

[PERL WARNING] Use of uninitialized value $only_fqn in concatenation (.)
or string at /usr/share/perl5/Munin/Master/GraphOld.pm line 1361.

I'm currently using 1.4.6-3ubuntu3.3 of the package munin which contains
this GraphOld.pm file.

I've debugged the file and confirm the missing initialization. I've
compared the file with the 2.0 branch of Munin and backported the
change. (see attached patch)

My logs are now clean. Please apply this patch to the next version of
the package munin.

Thanks a lot and best regards :-)

[Bug 1211053] [NEW] racoon stops on RRSIG in getcertsbyname

2013-08-11 Thread ruff
Public bug reported:

When using peers_certfile dnssec for racoon, it makes CERT RR lookup to fetch
cert from DNS.
If CERT RR is protected by DNSSEC (as it's supposed to be) resolver will (may?)
return RRSIG record to allow RR validity checks in app.
Current implementation of getcertsbyname (with patches) already sets NSEC
options and checks authentity flag, however it bails on RRSIG.
Proposed patch simply makes function to continue on non-CERT RRs since there's
no current framework to use RRSIG validation. With this approach it will
iterate through entire reply in attempt to fish CERT RRs from an answer.

[Bug 522142] [NEW] Unable to configure Cacti database on install (no MySQL root password)

2013-08-11 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

Binary package hint: cacti

Short version:

The Cacti install should set up the database by prompting the user for
database and database user information, rather than a) requiring them to
research/already know about dbconfig-common, and b) fail to install the
database because of not asking for the MySQL root password.

Long version:

I ran `sudo apt-get install cacti` and the system installed MySQL (with
root password prompt) and other dependencies, but when it gets to
configuring cacti, I get an error No database user specified.. To
continue, I'm given a choice of:

abort
retry
retry (skip questions)
ignore

Via Google I figure out that I need to set some database connection
information in /etc/dbconfig-common/cacti.conf, so I add values for,
database user, database user password, database name, and database
admin.

I'm puzzled that there's no mention of the database admin password, but
I'll try and carry on. I get no obvious Google hits around ucf, root,
and password.

I re-read /usr/share/doc/cacti/README.Debian.gz, which says
configuration dbconfig-common should be automatic.

Retrying the database installation step, I now get the error:
ERROR 1045 (28000): Access denied for user 'root'@'localhost' (using password:
NO)

Obviously dbconfig-common is not getting into MySQL without a password,
and is not asking me for the password.

Maybe I'm missing some commonly known approach to setting it up, but
there's nothing in the processes telling me how to get the automatic
install to work.

In the end I chose abort, and created the database manually, as
described in /usr/share/doc/cacti/README.Debian.gz. It took a bit of
fiddling, but it seems to be running now.

Cacti asks dbconfig-common to handle the database, so this bug is really

[Bug 584943] Re: Problem with a password containing space char

2013-08-11 Thread Paul Gevers
Actually, it is not only the space character. I think dbconfig-common
should make sure that passwords are escaped properly. However,
phpmyadmin could add quotes to the config template, and only quotes
would be a problem in the password (but probably make it fail instead of
using a truncated password.

[Bug 1211107] [NEW] network manager openvpn dns push data not updating resolv.conf

2013-08-11 Thread Aidan Walton
Public bug reported:

When IPv4 Method is set to Automatic VPN, DNS address recieved from
OpenVPN server do not update resolv.conf.

This can be achieved when using a standard openvpn config file by adding
the lines:

script-security 2
up /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf
down /etc/openvpn/update-resolv-conf

In Network-manager there seems to be no option to run connection
specific scripts and the DNS data from the server is ignored.

Ubuntu 13.04
Network-manager 0.9.8.0-0ubuntu6

** Affects: openvpn (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1196921] Re: updating packages to lua5.2 in main

2013-08-11 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package vim - 2:7.4.000-1ubuntu2

---
vim (2:7.4.000-1ubuntu2) saucy; urgency=low

  * Use lua5.2 for the current lua transition in main (LP: #1196921)
  * Ignore test86 for now, as it seems to do goofy things on powerpc.
