Hi,

I don't seem able to get gdb to tell me where the failures are. If
possible, could you install qemu-kvm-dbgsym (see
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/DebuggingProgramCrash#Debug_Symbol_Packages if
needed), fire up such a VM, attach to it with gdb (gdb -p $pid) then
print the addresses in question:

[Bug 1216968] [NEW] mount.cifs does not honor 'users' fstab option

2013-08-26 Thread Vladimir Vitkov
Public bug reported:

I am attempting to allow a roaming client to manually mount as a user a
samba share. but unfortunately mount.cifs (and mount.smbfs) does not
honor the option in fstab.

/etc/fstab:
//stor.lan/storage  /mnt/stor.lan   cifs
users,noauto,guest,uid=1000,iocharset=utf8 0 0

the users option is supposed to allow manual mounting of filesystems by
the users themselves.

The share in this case is not required to be permanently mounted but on demand
(done by the user via a shortcut).
No sudo is not acceptable (at least in our environment)
Yes i am aware of intr and bg options but this is not feasible with our setup.

mount.cifs/mount.smbfs should honor the users option in fstab (or the
handler invoking it should)

[Bug 1171418] Re: MAAS fails to power up machines when trying to install nodes

2013-08-26 Thread Chris Long
Hi All.
I'm completely new to posting here so please forgive my inexperience.
Here's my problem and fix in cli however what I wish to do is add this fix to
the ipmi.template so that maas will work correctly.
This is while running maas on a HP Blade server C7000 series with ProLiant
BL2x220c G5 server blades - iLo 2.0

non working example:
ipmipower -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p x --stat
10.200.0.36: authentication type unavailable for attempted privilege level

working example:
ipmipower -D LAN_2_0 -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p x --stat
10.200.0.36: off

Another which controls power on and off:
ipmipower -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p x --on
10.200.0.36: authentication type unavailable for attempted privilege level

ipmipower -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p x --off
10.200.0.36: authentication type unavailable for attempted privilege level

working example:
ipmipower -D LAN_2_0 -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p x --on
10.200.0.36: ok

ipmipower -D LAN_2_0 -h 10.200.0.36 -u maas -p kC17O6xZ --off
10.200.0.36: ok

So where and how do I add -D LAN_2_0 to enable the IPMI commands to
work within MAAS? I'm sure other people will be experiencing this
particular issue.

Do I add anything to either of these files?
/usr/share/pyshared/provisioningserver/power/templates/ipmi.template
/usr/lib/python2.7/dist-packages/provisioningserver/power/templates/ipmi.template

Thanks in advance.

[Bug 1181777] Re: kvm: freeze a guest with a NIC PCI passthrough

2013-08-26 Thread Serge Hallyn
An ipxe package is building in ppa:serge-hallyn/virt which has a newer
broadcom driver. See https://launchpad.net/~serge-hallyn/+archive/virt
for details.

When it builds, please grab kvm-
ipxe_1.0.0+git-3.55f6c88-0ubuntu2.12.04.1~ppa1_all.deb (and, if you have
ipxe itself installed, also
ipxe_1.0.0+git-3.55f6c88-0ubuntu2.12.04.1~ppa1_all.deb) and install them
with 'dpkg -i', and let us know if that fixes the hang. If you need
more detailed instructions, please let me know and I will send them as
soon as the ppa has built the packages.

Thank you!
