[Bug 1271833] [NEW] quota.postinst : Wrong quota detection in /etc/fstab
Public bug reported: Hi, In /var/lib/dpkg/info/quota.postinst, in the configure case (line 126), quota usage detection is weakly searched. This is done so : fs=`awk '/quota/ {print $2}' /etc/fstab`; assuming the only presence of the word quota is meaning one wants to activate quotas. Some filesystems like GFS2 allow the following usage : quota=off, in which case one doesn't want any quota related action when installing some other packages. (Some other are using the keyword usrquota. Well, YMMV...) (I was bothered by some buggy postint apt quota actions when installing unison, which is completely unrelated.) May I advice enhancing the quota usage detection in the quota.postinst in order to restrict it to the case one really want to activate it? My setup : - Ubuntu 12.04 LTS - quota 4.00-3 implementation of the disk quota system - Linux 3.2.0-24-generic #39-Ubuntu SMP Mon May 21 16:52:17 UTC 2012 x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux Regards. ** Affects: quota (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to quota in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1271833 Title: quota.postinst : Wrong quota detection in /etc/fstab To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/quota/+bug/1271833/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1214947] [NEW] chown in postinst fails on netapp storage
You have been subscribed to a public bug: We have /var/lib/glance/images on an nfs share served from a netapp filer. Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete. If this is indeed a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: bind9 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to bind9 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1271811 Title: package bind9 1:9.8.1.dfsg.P1-4ubuntu0.8 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/bind9/+bug/1271811/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1271941] Re: lxc container creation fails on trusty host service units
thumper hallyn: has the autostart behaviour for lxc changed in trusty? hallyn thumper: yes, stgraber's new autostart setup may be in now. certainly in the ppa stgraber hallyn: yep, it landed with beta2 last week thumper hallyn: hmm... managed to break juju's behaviour thumper hallyn: can you explain the change? hallyn juju uses autostart? stgraber thumper: yes, autostart settings are now upstream and use the container's config instead thumper hallyn: yep, stgraber thumper: I believe I already told someone this morning wrt juju stgraber thumper: use lxc.start.auto = 1 in the container config thumper stgraber: don't expect us to talk to each other :-) hallyn stgraber: remind me, is there any attempt at auto-conversion for /etc/lxc/auto/ users? stgraber hallyn: yes, there's migration code, but it won't do them much good for new juju containers hallyn heh yah stgraber any container on the system at the time of the upgrade to beta2 should have been automatically converted (symlink removed, /etc/lxc/auto removed and lxc.start.auto = 1 added to the container config) thumper stgraber: is this lxc going into the cloud archive? thumper stgraber: for precise? thumper is there a way we can work out if this is supported? stgraber thumper: maybe hallyn knows, I usually ignore the existence of that external archive entirely -*- thumper nods stgraber thumper: rule of thumb would be, if /etc/lxc/auto exists, use it, if not, use lxc.start.auto = 1 thumper stgraber: that makes sense... thumper should be able to handle that pretty easily -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to juju-core in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1271941 Title: lxc container creation fails on trusty host service units To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju-core/+bug/1271941/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 946022] Re: KVM Guest Hangs at Booting from hard disk
I'm fighting with similar symptoms: - Ubuntu (Saucy) guests created with VMBuilder don't boot successfully; instead I get a grub prompt. - qemu-system-x86 uses 100% CPU and 30MB RAM. - Sometimes (but rarely) the problem magically disappears. The host has an Intel CPU, so it doesn't seem to be the linked issue which is said to only occur for AMD CPUs. I've tried many changes related to disk configuration and boot loader, but nothing helped. Dropping back to ext3, by adding preferred_filesystem = 'ext3' to saucy.py, doesn't seem to help either. (I haven't verified yet if this actually created an ext3 filesystem.) Does this sound like issue #946022? Will VMBuilder provide a fix or workaround? -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to vm-builder in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/946022 Title: KVM Guest Hangs at Booting from hard disk To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/vm-builder/+bug/946022/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1271000] Re: lxc-start fails with Out of memory reading cgroups
Hum... Something is seriously amiss... The log file says /var/lib/lxc/c1/config is being used, which is incorrect... as /var/lib/lxc/c1 does note exist. I'm guessing the config file associated with the container (test) should be used, which is... /var/lib/lxc/test/config (test instead of c1) + even trying to supply this config file manually, it's ignored... as in... lxc-start -n test -f /var/lib/lxc/test/config -l trace -o start.out So it appears the problems are... 1) The config file associated with the container is incorrectly determined. 2) If the correct config file is specified, it's quietly ignored.
