[Bug 1281646] Re: php5-curl: Curl truncates basic auth password after semicolon
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Maybe you can tell me where to report this bug so it gets fixed in current stable Ubuntu 13.10. I'm sorry that this bug hasn't yet been fixed for you. Reporting a bug doesn't by itself mean that the bug will necessarily be fixed, since this requires developer resource, which is limited and must be prioritised. This is generally done on the perception of how many users are affected, which here appears to be two users in six months. If you'd like to get the bug fixed to your schedule, then please provide a patch, or find somebody who can - ideally to Debian, so that both distributions can benefit. ** Changed in: php5 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided = Medium -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1281646 Title: php5-curl: Curl truncates basic auth password after semicolon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1281646/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

If this is indeed a local configuration problem, you can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: clamav (Ubuntu) Status: New = Incomplete -- You received this bug notification because you are subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1280576 Title: package clamav-daemon 0.97.8+dfsg-1ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 Status in “clamav” package in Ubuntu: Incomplete Bug description: FAIL: sudo apt-get install clamav clamav-daemon clamav-freshclam ProblemType: Package DistroRelease: Ubuntu 13.10 Package: clamav-daemon 0.97.8+dfsg-1ubuntu4 ProcVersionSignature: Ubuntu 3.11.0-15.25-generic 3.11.10 Uname: Linux 3.11.0-15-generic x86_64 ApportVersion: 2.12.5-0ubuntu2.2 AptOrdering: clamav-daemon: Install clamav-daemon: Configure Architecture: amd64 Date: Sat Feb 15 14:44:33 2014 DuplicateSignature: package:clamav-daemon:0.97.8+dfsg-1ubuntu4:subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 ErrorMessage: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 MarkForUpload: True ProcCmdline: BOOT_IMAGE=/vmlinuz-3.11.0-15-generic root=/dev/mapper/ubuntu--vg-root ro quiet splash vt.handoff=7 SourcePackage: clamav Title: package clamav-daemon 0.97.8+dfsg-1ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 UpgradeStatus: No upgrade log present (probably fresh install) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/clamav/+bug/1280576/+subscriptions -- Providing quality services to the appreciated contractors and customers: * Applango * Arad Technologies * Astea Israel * BioControl Medical * Biometrix * Cognifit * Earlysense * Flometrica * Given Imaging * Gixoo * Hera-Med * IBM WorkLight * Idit Software Solutions * In-House * Israeli Ministry of Finance * Israeli Standards Institute * Menora Insurance * Mentors Channel * Mominis * Ness Technologies * ORAM International * Orpak * Partner-Orange * Peer39 * Physio-Logic * Pneumedicare * RealCommerce * SafeCharge International * Shaker * Shefa Amirim * Strauss-Water Tami4 * Tact-Matrix * TaKaDu * Tel-Aviv University * Tescom-ONE * TesTeam QHR * Tuttnauer * Verix * Visionix * Visionsense * WinBuyer * XMPie-Xerox * Special notice: In 2014, the entire operation of Ginsbourg.Com is being upgraded to cloud-based quality service. [Bug 1281646] Re: php5-curl: Curl truncates basic auth password after semicolon
Michael, Thanks - that's very useful. If I understand this correctly, the ';' had special meaning, so backporting this might affect other users who are relying on this feature. Thus, on balance, I don't think it makes sense to backport this patch to 13.10; we'd just be swapping one set of broken users for another. The current development release (Trusty) is on 7.35.0, so this bug is presumed fixed now. Since the bug status reflects the state of the current development release, I'll change it accordingly. ** Changed in: php5 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1281646 Title: php5-curl: Curl truncates basic auth password after semicolon To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1281646/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
