[Bug 1371159] [NEW] MacBookPro 11, 1 (Haswell, retina) fails to both suspend and hibernate with ubuntu 14.04
Public bug reported: Cannot make a MacBookPro 11,1 suspend. 1. When putting the lid down, acpi_listen prints: $ acpi_listen button/lid LID close button/lid LID open ... so the lid is signalling correctly. Upon opening, the screensaver prompt is present, and typing in the password brings me back to the desktop. Nothing is found in dmesg. 2. When choosing suspend from the top-right power menu, the screen goes black and shortly lights up again, showing the screensaver login prompt. Typing in the password brings me back to the desktop as if nothing had happened. 3. To remark that the power menu in the System Settings shows sometimes Suspend as greyed out, and hibernate is not listed. Perhaps this is related to the suspend process taking very long (minutes) as reported in other bugs, but I have never waited so long to find out. 4. When attempting to hibernate instead, using: $ sudo pm-hibernate ... something similar to triggering a suspend happens, but this time dmesg lists one error: [ 1434.487141] [drm:hsw_unclaimed_reg_clear] *ERROR* Unknown unclaimed register before writing to 2030 The whole relevant part of the dmesg is below, containing the sequence towards hibernation and then the sequence towards power up, cropped at the CPUs. Now, is a dhcp lease a permanent address? :) I think it's permanent enough for this scenario where MAAS is giving it out, as it even updates the DNS record. [Bug 1371291] [NEW] FTBFS caused by PEP 466
Public bug reported: PEP 466 http://legacy.python.org/dev/peps/pep-0466/ backported Python 3 security enhancements for OpenSSL to Python 2.7.x. As part of the port, _ssl.sslwrap(). AFAICT, this was never a public API anyway (it does not appear to be documented), but eventlet was using it, thus it is incompatible with Python 2.7.9 (when that is released). Of course, when 2.7.8-7 was uploaded to Utopic, it pulled the hg snapshot from 20140909, so this change came along with it. This is a legitimate upstream failure: https://github.com/eventlet/eventlet/issues/135 I'll wait to see if anything gets fixed upstream before trying to craft a fix. Since this is security critical code, I'd prefer for someone with upstream domain knowledge to propose a fix first. ** Affects: python-eventlet (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: ftbfs ** Tags added: ftbfs -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to python-eventlet in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1371291 Title: FTBFS caused by PEP 466 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/python-eventlet/+bug/1371291/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1371159] Re: MacBookPro 11, 1 (Haswell, retina) fails to both suspend and hibernate with ubuntu 14.04
Further info: turns out that the system is running without swap space: $ sudo blkid /dev/sda2: UUID=the-UUID-here TYPE=ext4 ... lists only one, when it shoud list also the swap partition. So: $ sudo swapon -a swapon: /dev/mapper/cryptswap1: stat failed: No such file or directory The /etc/fstab lists the swap partition under /dev/mapper/cryptswap1. While I never chose to encrypt swap, during the installation I did choose to encrypt my home directory. Perhaps the installer encrypted swap as well, and that is creating the problem with the lack of suspend and hibernate. Attempting to run sudo swapon -U UUID fails as well. I used the UUID listed in a comment in fstab. Any specific solutions to this problem? Perhaps this would solve the suspend/hibernate as well. Your feedback will aid us getting this update out to other Ubuntu users. If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug, mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help us make a better decision. [Bug 1371246] [NEW] netns ifconfig problem
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I am using IP name space virtualization feature in Ubuntu 14.04. All had worked fine during updating Ubuntu 14.04 at the 14th or 15th of September. All is OK in Ubuntu 12.04 LTS. After the starting script I have a wrong result for 'sudo ip netns exec test ifconfig eth1' output as zero's broadcast address in test IP name space.
