[Bug 1389305] Re: sudo doesn't work on unprivileged lxc container
I really don't know how to tell you, which Trusty's 64bit minimal cd I used. I didn't even know that there are more than one. Re: [Bug 1389305] Re: sudo doesn't work on unprivileged lxc container
Ah, the ecryptfs $HOME might be the problem. I haven't tested that and wouldn't be surprised if ecryptfs prevented the console from looking ok. Could you try something like: rm -rf $HOME/.config/lxc $HOME/.local/share/lxc sudo mkdir /opt/lxc sudo chown -R $USER /opt/lxc mkdir /opt/lxc/config /opt/lxc/store ln -s /opt/lxc/store $HOME/.local/share/lxc ln -s /opt/lxc/config $HOME/.config/lxc Then re-try the container create/setup. This will create the container rootfs on a non-ecryptfs filesystem. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to lxc in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1389305 Title: sudo doesn't work on unprivileged lxc container To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/lxc/+bug/1389305/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1284607] Re: resolvconf ignores given dns-servers in /etc/network/interfaces
I mean of course that resolvconf documentation refers to using dns- nameservers (not dns-server as I wrote above). I've added this as affecting dnsmasq-base, too. I think this is, at least, a documentation bug with regard to the interplay amongst resolvconf and dnsmasq and their configuration file. I'm not sure if it belongs to one package or the other, or both, or to yet some third thing. ** Also affects: dnsmasq (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to dnsmasq in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1284607 Title: resolvconf ignores given dns-servers in /etc/network/interfaces To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/dnsmasq/+bug/1284607/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1393444] Re: machine unit connects to apiserver but stays in agent-state: pending
This deployment has 2 metal nodes hosting LXC units (machine: 0, 18), then 'juju deploy cs:ubuntu --to lxc:0' does ok, while '--to lxc:18' was consistently failing as described above. FYI I've worked around this by removing machine 18 down to 'maas ready' and reacquiring it from juju, now all new LXC units there behave normally. IMO still worth digging what state bits left there for that machine were triggering this issue, copied a juju backup tarball to ~natefinch in case this is feasible. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to juju-core in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1393444 Title: machine unit connects to apiserver but stays in agent-state: pending To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/juju-core/+bug/1393444/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
Re: [Bug 1389305] Re: sudo doesn't work on unprivileged lxc container
On 19.11.2014 15:35, Serge Hallyn wrote: Ah, the ecryptfs $HOME might be the problem. I haven't tested that and wouldn't be surprised if ecryptfs prevented the console from looking ok. Could you try something like: rm -rf $HOME/.config/lxc $HOME/.local/share/lxc sudo mkdir /opt/lxc sudo chown -R $USER /opt/lxc mkdir /opt/lxc/config /opt/lxc/store ln -s /opt/lxc/store $HOME/.local/share/lxc ln -s /opt/lxc/config $HOME/.config/lxc Then re-try the container create/setup. [Bug 1386144] Re: juju-core 1.20.11 is not packaged in Ubuntu
Juju QA certifies that the trusty clients are suitable for local development and production cloud deploys. ** Description changed: juju-core 1.20.11 is proposed for release upstream. We're now in a position to have this enter trusty-proposed and vivid- proposed, but it should not land in trusty-updates or vivid until upstream passes QA on our proposed binaries, published 1.20.11 tools in their stable simplestream and announces the release for general production use. [SRU Information] juju-core has a stable release exception in https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates/MicroReleaseExceptions, including for major version updates. [Development Fix] Full backport of new upstream release. racb will remove the block- proposed tag when verification has passed, and then this update should migrate to vivid. [Stable Fix] Full backport of new upstream release. [QA Status] Since there are multiple verifications required, they are listed here as a work item whiteboard status type thing rather than try and track them in a single tag. Please do not mark verification-done or remove block- proposed until all following items have passed. If any of these items fail, this bug should be marked verification-failed immediately. [Bug 1394352] [NEW] apparmor: Multiple definitions ... bailing out
Public bug reported: When one creates a incorrect profile, apparmor_parser seems to leave an artifact of the problem file in the same directory, which in turn leads to another error, when the file gets fixed. Not sure, how appamor stuff works, but this is simply an unacceptable behavior! [Bug 1394388] [NEW] pm-suspend not restoring /sys/power/disk with /bin/dash
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 14.04LTS pm-utils 1.4.1-13ubuntu0.1 When issuing the pm-suspend command, the scripts set the HIBERNATE_MODE in /sys/power/disk to suspend. There is some shell magic to save the previous setting in variable HIBERNATE_MODE_SAVE, but this fails under the default shell /bin/dash (works correctly with /bin/bash). Effect: if you use pm-suspend once, the effective HIBERNATE_MODE in /sys/power/disk stays in suspend, and any subsequent pm-hibernate will also just do a suspend instead of platform or shutdown. ** Affects: pm-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: bashism hibernate pm-utils suspend ** Patch added: escape special chars in parameter expansion for HIBERNATE_MODE_SAVE https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1394388/+attachment/4264030/+files/hibernate_mode_save-bashism.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to pm-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1394388 Title: pm-suspend not restoring /sys/power/disk with /bin/dash To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pm-utils/+bug/1394388/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1394394] [NEW] pm-suspend-wakeup-hibernate (aka pm-suspend-hybrid before 3.6)
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 14.04LTS pm-utils 1.4.1-13ubuntu0.1 before kernel 3.6, pm-suspend-hybrid would do suspend/wakeup/hibernate (with full power-off). since kernel 3.6, pm-suspend-hybrid will do suspend-to-both (without full power-off). The old functionality is not available any more. At times I would prefer using the old method, but pm-utils does not offer it anymore. Attached patch adds back the old functionality, either by - setting SUSPEND_HYBRID_MODULE variable to suspend_wakeup_hibernate in some /etc/pm/config.d- or /etc/pm/pm-suspend.config.d- File - invoking /usr/lib/pm-utils/bin/pm-action from a symlink called pm-suspend-wakeup-hibernate ** Affects: pm-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Tags: hibernate hybrid pm-utils suspend ** Attachment added: re-add suspend/wakeup/hibernate w/poweroff functionality https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1394394/+attachment/4264037/+files/pm_suspend_wakeup_hibernate.patch -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to pm-utils in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1394394 Title: pm-suspend-wakeup-hibernate (aka pm-suspend-hybrid before 3.6) To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pm-utils/+bug/1394394/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1394403] [NEW] apache 2.4.7 mod_dir bug PR53929
Public bug reported: Ubuntu 14.04LTS x86_64 In apache 2.4.7 there is a bug in mod_dir, in that it does not stop when the URL has just been rewritten by mod_rewrite. If you have rewrite rules in .htaccess, ending in a [P] for an external URL, rule execution should stop and mod_proxy should go and fetch the given URL. Instead, mod_dir fires another round of rewrite rule checks as it looks for .../index.html, possibly giving completely different results (e.g. not fetching from remote site). http://www.apachelounge.com/Changelog-2.4.html: ... *) mod_dir: Don't search for a DirectoryIndex or DirectorySlash on a URL that was just rewritten by mod_rewrite. [Bug 1252467] Re: /etc/cron.d/awstats: wrong user for cron job
Either running the cron job as root or allowing www-data to read the apache log files are bad ideas. Instead you want to create a new user and add it to the www-data and adm groups and make the cron job execute as that user. I called mine awstats: useradd awstats usermod -a -G www-data awstats usermod -a -G adm awstats Seems to work like a charm. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to awstats in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1252467 Title: /etc/cron.d/awstats: wrong user for cron job To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/awstats/+bug/1252467/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
