[Bug 1418265] [NEW] Memory leak when using pam_ldap in long running processes

2015-02-05 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

We're experiencing fairly significant memory leaks when using pam_ldap
when used from nginx. After some preliminary investigation it seems to
be similar to the redhat issue 660236:

https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=660236

The symptoms are substantial amounts of memory being leaked per request
when the pam_authenticate call is used. Working from the assumption
that this is caused by the loss of memory when dlclose is called I
preloaded the pam module by adding the following to /etc/default/nginx

LD_PRELOAD=/lib/x86_64-linux-gnu/security/pam_ldap.so

at that point the leaks stopped immediately.

** Affects: libpam-ldap (Ubuntu)
 Importance: Undecided
 Status: New

[Bug 1418265] Re: Memory leak when using pam_ldap in long running processes

2015-02-05 Thread Arthur de Jong
The aptitude output shows that the bug is in libpam-ldap, not in libpam-
ldapd (part of nss-pam-ldapd).

** Package changed: nss-pam-ldapd (Ubuntu) = libpam-ldap (Ubuntu)

[Bug 1418664] Re: package cgmanager 0.32-4ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: package is in a very bad inconsistent state; you should reinstall it before attempting configuration

2015-02-05 Thread Serge Hallyn
Great, thanks for the update. I frankly don't know what causes these cases.
They seem to happen with random
packages. i also don't know what to mark the bug, as I'm quite certain it
wasn't in cgmanager and was worked
around rather than fixed - but i'll mark it fix released.

Please reply if you have more apparently-related troubles.

[Bug 1417909] Re: Container fails to start with error mounting /sys/fs/cgroup

2015-02-05 Thread Christopher Townsend
Hey Serge,

Yes, adding 'lxc.mount.auto = sys' fixes the issue.

The container is an extracted ISO from http://cdimage.ubuntu.com/ubuntu-
desktop-next/daily-live/current/vivid-desktop-amd64.iso for the Unity 8
in LXC project.

[Bug 1418568] Re: depends on cloud-utils without knowledge of cloud-image-utils

This was found in bug 1407699.

 * on precise juju uses the cloud tools archive
(https://wiki.ubuntu.com/ServerTeam/CloudToolsArchive)
 * precise's version of cloud-init depends on cloud-utils
 * Juju began installing cloud-image-utils.
 * cloud-image-utils conflicts with cloud-utils. cloud-image-utils was just a
re-packaging for dependency shrink and so it conflicts with older versions of
cloud-utils which would include the same set of files.

To reproduce, launch precise instance:
$ sudo apt-add-repository -y cloud-archive:tools
$ sudo apt-get update -qy
$ apt-get install --dry-run -q cloud-image-utils
NOTE: This is only a simulation!
  apt-get needs root privileges for real execution.
  Keep also in mind that locking is deactivated,
  so don't depend on the relevance to the real current situation!

2015-02-05 Thread Serge Hallyn
thanks for submitting this bug. Could you tell us how you created the
container?

You should be able to solve this by adding

lxc.mount.auto = sys

as the first line of your configuration file. Please let us know if
that does not fix the container start.

[Bug 1418695] [NEW] [SRU] juno 2014.2.2 point release

2015-02-05 Thread Corey Bryant
Public bug reported:

OpenStack 2014.2.2 (stable/juno) released this afternoon.

Here's the release email from Chuck Short:

Hello everyone,

The OpenStack Stable Maintenance team is happy to announce the 2014.2.2
stable Juno release. We have been busy reviewing and accepting
backported bugfixes to the stable/Juno branches according to the criteria set
at:

https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/StableBranch

A total of 104 bugs have been fixed across all projects since 2014.1.2.
These updates to Juno are intended to be low risk with no intentional
regressions or API changes. The list of bugs, tarballs and other milestone
information for each project may be found on Launchpad:

https://launchpad.net/ceilometer/juno/2014.2.2
https://launchpad.net/cinder/juno/2014.2.2

https://launchpad.net/trove/juno/2014.2.2

Release notes may be found on the wiki:

https://wiki.openstack.org/wiki/ReleaseNotes/2014.2.2

The freeze on the stable/juno branches will be lifted today as we
begin working toward 2014.2.3, which will be released on a TBD.

Thanks
chuck

[Bug 1418590] Re: No ERROR state if image deleted, _base is lost and instance is rescued

2015-02-05 Thread George Shuklin
** Description changed:

  State to reproduce:
  1. Boot instance from image
  2. Delete image
  3. Stop nova-compute
  4. Remove /var/lib/nova/instances/_base/*
  5. start nova-compute
  6. Try to rescue instance (nova rescue image)

  Nova-compute will fail with few traces (see below) and instance get
  strange state:

  Only nova reset-state helps.

- Expected behavior: set it to ERROR state.
+ Expected behavior: set it to ERROR state or, better, to reject rescue if

[Bug 1418778] Re: Stack smashing while using a lot of connections

2015-02-05 Thread Thomas Ward
Please make a note: I have nominated this bug for the Precise series.
When the Precise series is approved on this bug, the status for the
development-release (i.e. the 'no series' bug which is implied for the
in-development release) should be set to Fix Released as this issue
has been fixed with the prior bug (#933417) since Quantal. This update
here only applies to Precise.

2015-02-05 Thread Thomas Ward
Note on the debdiff: The wrong bug number is present in the debdiff
(the old one). Since that bug is now fixed we would be using the new
bug number here.

I've attached the same debdiff with a one line revision to correct the
bug number. Still has the original debdiff author's fingerprints all
over it, i just made one revision to the debian/changelog.

[Bug 1412962] Please test proposed package

2015-02-05 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Rafael, or anyone else affected,

Accepted pacemaker into trusty-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/pacemaker/1.1.10+git20130802-1ubuntu2.3
in a few hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 972845] Re: fails if network is not yet configured at runlevel 2 (i.e. no ifupdown-managed network connection)

2015-02-05 Thread Kastor Stein
Still tricky 14.04 LTS and upstart because the tftp...-upstart.conf
contains some 'sleep 10' which confuses upstart's PID management
(https://bugs.launchpad.net/upstart/+bug/406397).

http://upstart.ubuntu.com/cookbook/#start-on with suggested 'start on
(local-filesystems and net-device-up IFACE!=lo)' in
/etc/init/tftp...conf and no 'sleep 10' works.
