[Bug 1211110] Re: network manager openvpn dns push data not updating system DNS addresses
Actually, I'd like to retract part of what I said above. Via tcpdump, I was able to confirm that --push on the server for dhcp-option DNS ... and redirect-gateway ARE ACTUALLY WORKING, though the changes are not visible in /etc/resolv.conf. Rather, they are updated in dnsmasq and resolv.conf points to dnsmasq. (I don't think the def1 flag for redirect-gateway works.) In my view, two things are needed: (1) a documented way to view the list of DNS servers within Network Manager's dnsmasq so folks here can watch what is happening without tcpdump, and (2) support for dhcp- option DNS ... and redirect-gateway on the client (not just options pushed from the server). [Bug 31057] Re: /etc/resolv.conf is empty after a system reboot.
I just ran into this problem while configuring Ubuntu 14.04 to forward WIFI packets through an ethernet interface with NAT masquerading in order to give access to another machine that has no WiFi Interface. I manually set an ip address of 10.1.1.1 for eth0 and everything was working fine, until the connection stalled due to resolvconf meddling with the static IP address and removing it. Finally I removed the resolvconf package as editing the configuration file did not stop the problem from happening. Don't know if this bug should be re-opened or not, but it is very counter-intuitive to have a daemon rewrite a standard configuration file such as /etc/resolv.conf. If it is supposed to enhance security by obscurity it is a complete failure, in my opinion. From the Apache 2.2 documentation: TLSv1.1 (when using OpenSSL 1.0.1 and later) A revision of the TLS 1.0 protocol, as defined in RFC 4346. TLSv1.2 (when using OpenSSL 1.0.1 and later) A revision of the TLS 1.1 protocol, as defined in RFC 5246. I am going to assume that the problem is not the openssl, but rather Apache, and that perhaps what is going on is that Ubuntu version of Apache is to blame. My hunch is that when i enter TLSv1, it treats it as though I had enabled TLSv1, TLSv1.1, and TLSv1.2, despite the documentation for Apache 2.2 saying that TLSv1.1 and TLSv1.1 should be valid values, and my assumption that enabling TLSv1 should not enable the other two. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to apache2 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1400473 Title: Apache 2.2 on Ubuntu 12.04 LTS doesn't allow disabling TLS1.0 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/apache2/+bug/1400473/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1433324] Re: provide whl packages in trusty to enable pyvenv in python3.4
** Description changed: to enable pyvenv in trusty, we need a number of -whl packages in trusty. For the normal case, this is just adding a new separate binary package, sometimes the build system needs to use setuptools. Other needed changes are described below. The python3.4 update is tracked in lp: #1348954. test criterium for accepting these packages should be a successful build, a check that the original packages are not modified, and the new packages are not empty. The version number may be sometimes odd looking. Packages were prepared in the ubuntu-toolchain-r/ppa, and I'd like to use version number higher than in this PPA. + + wheel: wheel is not part of trusty, so just take the first upload to + utopic. + + six: Build a -whl package (setuptools is needed to build the wheel + package). + + chardet: 2.0.1 in trusty is not ready for Python3. Backport the package + from utopic (source name chardet-whl), and just build the + python3-chardet and python-chardet-whl packages (both new in trusty). + + distlib: Build a -whl package (setuptools is needed to build the wheel + package). + + html5lib: Build a -whl package (setuptools is needed to build the wheel + package). Just use the packaging of the next Debian version. ** Also affects: python-colorama (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: distlib (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Also affects: html5lib (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: distlib (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released ** Changed in: html5lib (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released ** Changed in: python-colorama (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released ** Changed in: six (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released ** Changed in: wheel (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released ** Also affects: python-urllib3 (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New ** Changed in: python-urllib3 (Ubuntu) Status: New = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to six in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1433324 Title: provide whl packages in trusty to enable pyvenv in python3.4 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/distlib/+bug/1433324/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
