[Bug 1475129] [NEW] HP EliteBook 9480m and others crash when sleeping docked and resuming undocked
You have been subscribed to a public bug: I've seen this bug on multiple versions of Ubuntu (14.04 and 15.04) and with multiple hardware (HP EliteBook 9470m, HP EliteBook 9480m, and HP EliteBook 820). Not surprising since they appear to share a bios core. They are all running latest BIOS. Sleep/resume normally works fine, but if I allow it to sleep while in the docking station, and then I undock it and resume it, it appears to try to resume, then after half a second or so, it flashes back to POST screen and boots fresh. It looks to me like the resume operation crashes somehow and it reboots. Observations: It does not matter if there are any monitors pluged into the docking station. I've tried toggling deep-sleep in bios, no effect. I've tried toggling USB3 in bios, no effect. I can't find any indication of a crash or a reason for the reboot in any of the logs. I added the dmesg from EliteBook 820 because it's the simpler installation. I have Bluetooth, Camera, and audio turned off in bios for various reasons. It is also docked in a monitor-less dock (I use it for charging). Please let me know what other information I can provide. ** Affects: pm-utils (Ubuntu) Importance: Undecided Status: New -- HP EliteBook 9480m and others crash when sleeping docked and resuming undocked https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1475129 You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to pm-utils in Ubuntu. -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1449640] Re: package libapache2-mod-php5 5.6.4+dfsg-4ubuntu6 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1
Thank you for your report. This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in Ubuntu. You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here: http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community Since we use this bug tracker to track bugs in Ubuntu, rather than configuration problems, I'm marking this bug as Invalid. This helps us to focus on fixing bugs in Ubuntu. If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful to read How to report bugs effectively http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem, explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New. ** Changed in: php5 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Invalid -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1449640 Title: package libapache2-mod-php5 5.6.4+dfsg-4ubuntu6 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1 To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/php5/+bug/1449640/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs
[Bug 1319595] Re: upstart script ignores some php-fpm.conf parameters, cannot be bypassed in preference of SystemV init script.
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Since we use systemd in Ubuntu now (since 15.04), this bug no longer applies to the development release so I'm marking it Fix Released. For upstart-using stable releases that are still supported, I don't think it's inappropriate to change the upstart script to not use --nodaemonize in an update automatically recommended to users as that will change behavior and thus clearly has the potential to regress users. In terms of changing to the init.d script, you are welcome to do this by modifying or deleting the upstart and init.d scripts as appropriate as a workaround. They are in /etc and so packaging will attempt to preserve your changes by Debian policy. Given that you have to deleted the upstart job, it seems reasonable to me that you also have to manually edit the init.d script to enable it even if upstart is running. But in any case, we can't fix this in Trusty for all users due to the regression risk, a workaround is available and the bug no longer applies with systemd in the development release for the future. Since there is no longer any work to do on this bug, Fix Released is appropriate. ** Changed in: php5 (Ubuntu) Status: Confirmed = Fix Released -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to php5 in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1319595 Title: upstart script ignores some php-fpm.conf parameters, cannot be bypassed in preference of SystemV init script. [Bug 1472510] Re: Unbound returns SERVFAIL for specific query on dual stacked machine
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make Ubuntu better. Please see https://wiki.ubuntu.com/StableReleaseUpdates and https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SponsorshipProcess for the processes involved in checking and getting your patch into 14.04. If you're in a hurry then you'll need to prepare the uploads yourself and put them forward for sponsorship. First you need to prepare an upload for Wily to fix the bug in the development release, then follow the procedure documented on the SRU page. If you need any help following the process, try #ubuntu-devel on Freenode.
