Removing the 2 lines suggested by davidfavor, actually fixed my problem
- after restarting lxc-net

(/etc/dnsmasq.conf was never empty for me)

[Bug 1491458] Re: package nginx-full 1.9.3-1ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2015-09-03 Thread Thomas Ward
This is not a bug. The configuration file that you are using (which is
not the same as the one in the package itself) has an invalid
configuration setup.

>From the attached debug file
https://launchpadlibrarian.net/216173830/SystemctlStatusFull_Nginx.txt.txt:

Sep 02 10:52:59 Easy-Main1 systemd[1]: Starting A high performance web server

not allowed here in /etc/nginx/nginx.conf:90
Sep 02 10:52:59 Easy-Main1 nginx[15397]: nginx: configuration file

You have a listen directive somewhere in your configuration files where
they shouldn't be.

We do not do debugging of user configurations here. Please visit #nginx
on irc.freenode.net, or any support forum, for assistance with debugging
your configurations.

I can't seem to reproduce this.

I'll leave the bug in 'incomplete' status (meaning more info needed).

[Bug 1491878] [NEW] python-babel 1.3+dfsg.1-5 ftbfs in Wily

2015-09-03 Thread Barry Warsaw
Public bug reported:

A rebuild of python-babel 1.3 would ftbfs, as it does in the Python 3.5
-as-default PPA:

https://launchpadlibrarian.net/210474372/buildlog_ubuntu-wily-amd64
.python-babel_1.3%2Bdfsg.1-5_BUILDING.txt.gz

We should investigate Babel 2.0 which appears to be the latest upstream.
I'll look at that as part of DPMT.

There is no information in here that suggests there was a failure. The
only information I can see is that you have two warnings indicating that
you have duplicate servernames and listen statements. However, warnings
are not bugs, and I don't see anything in the information here that
suggests a bug.

Thanks for looking into this. We started experimenting with live

installed qemu from the Ubuntu Cloud archive

bug is fixed in

[Bug 1490796] Re: [SRU] cloud-init must check/format Azure ephemeral disks each boot

2015-09-03 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Stephen, or anyone else affected,

Accepted cloud-init into vivid-proposed. The package will build now and
be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/cloud-
init/0.7.7~bzr1091-0ubuntu7 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification .  Thank you in
advance!

2015-09-03 Thread Manoj Iyer
Thomas,

Appreciate your quick response. I have added the logs I found under
/var/* related to nginx. I think the error is because nginx-core is not
built for ARM64 ? or there is a package dependency issue ?

[Bug 1491978] Re: [wily] nginx fails to install on ARM64

2015-09-03 Thread Thomas Ward
This isn't a bug, nor a problem with the package.

Something else is listening on port 80, and therefore you can't start
nginx. (It by default binds to port 80).

Whatever the other process is (possibly Apache), you should shut it off,
run the installation (or apt-get install -f), and then mess with
configuration files so things aren't all trying to listen on port 80 at
once.

[Bug 1489379] Re: LTE: ISST:leeklp4 no mpath choices for install ubuntu 15.10

2015-09-03 Thread Mauricio Faria de Oliveira
I'm attaching a patch that solves the issue; verification steps below.
It disables -fexceptions when building multipath-udeb.

(I had in mind something more elegant, like only adding -fno-exceptions
from debian/rules into DEB_CFLAGS_MAINT_APPEND as done w/ -static-
libgcc, but that way it doesn't override the post-added -fexceptions in
Makefile.inc).. and found no other variable that would override it w/
less changes. So it's adding a patch to Makefile.inc and it does the
job.)

Some comments with more details/explanation of the issue were not
mirrored yet; should be on their way.

Build verification:
--

Checking the build log, the 2 tur.o objects are built correctly:
1) multipath-udeb: with -static-libgcc and without -fexceptions
2) multipath deb: without -static-libgcc and with -fexceptions (default)

$ dpkg-buildpackage 2>&1 | tee ../dpkg-buildpackage.log

$ grep -- '-o tur.o' ../dpkg-buildpackage.log
cc -g -O3 -fPIE -fstack-protector-strong -Wformat
-Werror=format-security -static-libgcc -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -O2 -g -pipe -Wall
-Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fstack-protector --param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -Wunused
-Wstrict-prototypes -fPIC -DLIB_STRING=\"lib\" -I.. -c -o tur.o tur.c
cc -g -O3 -fPIE -fstack-protector-strong -Wformat
-Werror=format-security -D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -O2 -g -pipe -Wall
-Wp,-D_FORTIFY_SOURCE=2 -fexceptions -fstack-protector
--param=ssp-buffer-size=4 -Wunused -Wstrict-prototypes -fPIC
-DLIB_STRING=\"lib\" -I.. -c -o tur.o tur.c

Checking the build output, the ELF objects (don't) dyn-link to libgcc_s as
appropriate:
1) multipath-udeb: ELF objects don't dyn-link with libgcc_s
2) multipath deb: ELF objects dyn-link with libgcc_s

$ find debian/tmp-multipath-udeb/ | while read file; do file $file |
grep -q ELF && objdump -x $file | grep -q 'NEEDED.*libgcc_s' && echo $file
needs libgcc_s; done
$

$ find debian/tmp/ | while read file; do file $file | grep -q ELF &&
objdump -x $file | grep -q 'NEEDED.*libgcc_s' && echo $file needs libgcc_s; done
debian/tmp/lib/libmultipath.so.0 needs libgcc_s
debian/tmp/lib/multipath/libchecktur.so needs libgcc_s
debian/tmp/sbin/multipathd needs libgcc_s
$

Installer verification:
---

Configure multipath.conf for using tur with QEMU/KVM SCSI disks:

~ # cat  | A dynamic linking error occurred: (libgcc_s.so.1: cannot open

[Bug 1490361] Re: IncompatibleObjectVersion: Version 1.2 of PciDeviceList is not supported

2015-09-03 Thread Samir Ibradžić
I've run into this yesterday, right after nova-compute upgrade to 2015.1.1 on
all compute nodes in my environment. Turned out that openstack-nova 2015.1.0
(scheduler or perhaps one of its dependencies?) on controller is not something
that nova-compute 2015.1.1 on compute nodes can live with!
Upgrading openstack-nova* and all of its dependencies on a controller to
2015.1.1 fixed the thing.

[Bug 1273462] Re: Users can mistakenly run init.d scripts and cause problems if an equivalent upstart job already exists

2015-09-03 Thread Robie Basak
@Martin

Note that this is bug a regression - previously, before the (I presume)
dh_installinit change, /etc/init.d/foo was a symlink to /lib/init
/upstart-job so a user running /etc/init.d/foo by hand was redirected to
upstart anyway. So while I appreciate that a user might now be getting
desired behaviour by calling /etc/init.d/foo directly on some package
somewhere, it seems unlikely that this change will regress by
redirecting to the upstart job as we were doing for that package on a
previous release - the window for that behaviour to have diverged is
fairly small.

[Bug 1297224] Re: Improve xen packages and hvm domUs support

2015-09-03 Thread Stefan Bader
Thanks James, unfortunately its the build-dependency on edk2/ovmf which
prevents me from picking this right now (ovmf is multiverse and at least xen
source is main).
And really sorry Fantu, this cycle I had no time at all to do realistic
improvements to the packaging at all. The only thing I am getting to is pulling
in the latest stable (4.5.1). For 16.04 I hope to spend more time as this also
should make the jump to 4.6 hopefully.

How to put libgcc_s.so.1 (from the udeb package) in the installer environment,
for testing/work-around purposes:

1) Go to https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/wily/ppc64el/libgcc1/
2) Click the latest (top-most) "Version" link (e.g., 1:5.2.1-15ubuntu5)
from the Release "Pocket" (unless you know you should use Proposed)
3) Copy the link address of the ".deb" file in the "Downloadable files" section
(e.g., http://.../libgcc1_5.2.1-15ubuntu5_ppc64el.deb)

4) On the installer, right after network configuration (username configuration
stage),
select "Go Back", and "Execute a shell"
5) Run the following commands:
~ # wget
http://launchpadlibrarian.net/215539827/libgcc1_5.2.1-15ubuntu5_ppc64el.deb
~ # ar x libgcc1_*.deb
~ # xzcat data.tar.xz | tar x ./lib/powerpc64le-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1 -C /
~ # exit

~ # ls /lib/powerpc64le-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1
/lib/powerpc64le-linux-gnu/libgcc_s.so.1

The result with the previous test binary as well (multipath in previous

--- Comment From mauri...@br.ibm.com 2015-09-03 11:56 EDT---
Okay, using a custom libchecktur.so built without -fexceptions..
It works fine in the installer environment, for its purposes.

This should be OK as there's no multipathd (which exercises the path checkers
more) running in the installer.
I'll formalize/support this in another comment.

2015-09-03 Thread Rafael David Tinoco
Hello Pankaj,

I’m sorry for not being more clear…

There is no way that a SRU is accepted if -proposed package is not
verified.

TGT iSER support was already verified by me.

I still need Kamal to verify libibverbs and libmlx4.

Thank you!

How to reproduce with QEMU/KVM (2 arguments as "-drive
file=test.qcow2,serial=helloworld")

Force the path checker to tur:

~ # cat /etc/multipath.conf
defaults {
user_friendly_names yes
path_checker tur
}

blacklist_exceptions {
property ID_SERIAL
}

Notice the dlopen() error, and paths got no uuids, thus blacklisted:

Fortunately enough, the *only* ELF (binary/shared-library) in the
multipath-udeb that requires libgcc_s is... libchecktur.so
(C'mon.. otherwise we wouldn't be doing this :-)

$ dpkg-buildpackage

objdump -x $file | grep -q 'NEEDED.*libgcc_s' || continue

[Bug 1439649] Re: Pacemaker unable to communicate with corosync on restart under lxc

2015-09-03 Thread Billy Olsen
Looking at logs from bug 1491228, it would appear that the first time
that pacemaker goes to talk to the corosync daemon it gets denied. Per
upstream docs [0], if the enable-acl property isn't explicitly enabled,
then any user in the haclient group should have access. Since the
hacluster charm doesn't explicitly enable the acl, I'd expect pacemaker
to be running under the haclient/hacluster uid/gid.

The charms don't enable the acl and the package creates the hacluster
user in the haclient group, so I suspect there's something additional
going on here. For completeness, I'll attach the syslog in here. The
pacemaker node did start after following JuanJo's workaround in comment
#15.

[Bug 1489379] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla

The only places that pthread_cancel() is called in libchecktur.so (tur.c +
libsg.c) are 2 functions in tur.c:
1) libcheck_free()
2) libcheck_check()

And their calls to pthread_cancel() are /not/ exercised when /not/ in daemon
mode
(i.e., running as multipath, not multipathd; as in the installer).

It's only in daemon mode that the checker goes into async mode -- via
get_state() -> checker_set_async().
- And it's only in async mode that libcheck_check() might call pthread_cancel(),
- And it's only in async mode that libcheck_check() might set 'holders' to a
value
for which libcheck_free() might call pthread_cancel() (holders > 1).

file libmultipath/discovery.c:

get_state (struct path * pp, int daemon)
{
...
condlog(3, "%s: get_state", pp->dev);

if (!checker_selected(c)) {
...
select_checker(pp);
if (!checker_selected(c)) {
condlog(3, "%s: No checker selected", pp->dev);
return PATH_UNCHECKED;
}
...
if (daemon)
checker_set_async(c);

file libmultipath/checkers.c:

void checker_set_async (struct checker * c)
{
if (!c)
return;
c->sync = 0;
}

file libmultipath/checkers/tur.c:

extern int
libcheck_check (struct checker * c)
{
...
if (c->sync)
return tur_check(c->fd, c->timeout, c->message);

/*
* Async mode
*/
...
if (ct->running) {
...
if (tur_check_async_timeout(c)) {
condlog(3, "%d:%d: tur checker timeout",
TUR_DEVT(ct));
pthread_cancel(ct->thread);
...
/* Start new TUR checker */
...
ct->holders++;

int libcheck_init (struct checker * c)
{
...
ct->holders = 1;
...

void libcheck_free (struct checker * c)
...
ct->holders--;
...
if (holders)
pthread_cancel(thread);
...

Given the supporting evidence provided, I'll work on a patch to build
multipath-udeb without -fexceptions.
