[Bug 1246347] Re: Lots of "error on subcontainer ‘ia_addr’ insert (-1)" reports in /var/log/syslog

2015-09-17 Thread Richard Laager
I can confirm that `sed -i "s|-Lsd|-LS6d|" /etc/default/snmpd` fixes the
problem for me.

[Bug 1496713] [NEW] package slapd 2.4.31-1+nmu2ubuntu8.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2015-09-17 Thread Dennis Leeuw
Public bug reported:

The only thing that seems to fail is the start:

Processing triggers for man-db (2.6.7.1-1ubuntu1) ...
Setting up slapd (2.4.31-1+nmu2ubuntu8.2) ...
  Backing up /etc/ldap/slapd.conf in
/var/backups/slapd-2.4.31-1+nmu2ubuntu8.1... done.
 * Starting OpenLDAP slapd

 [fail]
invoke-rc.d: initscript slapd, action "start" failed.

This seems to be the problem:
/usr/sbin/slapd -h ldap:/// ldapi:/// -g openldap -u openldap -f
/etc/ldap/slapd.conf

If I change it to:
/usr/sbin/slapd -h ldap:/// -g openldap -u openldap -f /etc/ldap/slapd.conf

All works fine.

[Bug 1480960] Re: glance client silently ignores --owner parameter

2015-09-17 Thread James Page
Actually this does exist in 0.15.0 as well; but you only hit this
problem if the image-list call gets paginated due to a large number of
images.

I think it was fixed in https://github.com/openstack/python-
glanceclient/commit/f98ab688eff8fff4bdb5f650da3516715d62f232 (included
in 0.17.0) when the call to get the owner switched from pop -> get,
ensuring that its left in the filters dictionary for subsequent calls.

[Bug 1434684] Re: Pacemaker is not started and stopped automatically with Corosync

2015-09-17 Thread Louis Bouchard
Hello,

Well, elbandi have found the answer to your question : pacemaker now
needs to be started as a separate service. To quote the document :

"Pacemaker used to obtain membership and quorum from a custom Corosync plugin.
This plugin also had the capability to start Pacemaker automatically when
Corosync was started.
Neither behavior is possible with Corosync 2.0 and beyond as support for
plugins was removed. Instead, Pacemaker must be started as a separate service."

Looks like the services are correctly setup as pacemaker starts normally
at boot time. If you want to manually stop your cluster, you will have
to issue :

$ service corosync stop
$ service pacemaker stop

2015-09-17 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for your report.

This looks like a local configuration problem, rather than a bug in
Ubuntu, since you appear to have extensively deleted MySQL configuration
files and so it cannot be expected to work.

You can find pointers to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

Since we use this bug tracker to track bugs in Ubuntu, rather than
configuration problems, I'm marking this bug as Invalid. This helps us
to focus on fixing bugs in Ubuntu.

If you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it helpful
to read "How to report bugs effectively"
http://www.chiark.greenend.org.uk/~sgtatham/bugs.html. We'd be grateful
if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,
explain why you believe this is a bug in Ubuntu rather than a problem
specific to your system, and then change the bug status back to New.

Sorry, if you want to modify Ubuntu by rebuilding after changing build-
time configuration, then you're very welcome to do so but we can't treat
this as a bug in Ubuntu itself, so a bug task for Ubuntu is not valid.

If there is some way that what Ubuntu ships is buggy, then please do
explain this and set the bug back to New.

[Bug 1496713] Re: package slapd 2.4.31-1+nmu2ubuntu8.2 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2015-09-17 Thread Robie Basak
Thank you for taking the time to report this bug and helping to make
Ubuntu better.

Since it seems likely to me that this is a local configuration problem,
rather than a bug in Ubuntu, I'm marking this bug as Incomplete. I've
tested slapd from trusty-updates and it does appear to install
correctly. It looks like you have modified your slapd configuration, so
perhaps slapd now needs to be started differently in order to match your
changes?

If indeed this is a local configuration problem, you can find pointers
to get help for this sort of problem here:
http://www.ubuntu.com/support/community

Or if you believe that this is really a bug, then you may find it
helpful to read "How to report bugs effectively"

if you would then provide a more complete description of the problem,

[Bug 1494141] Re: HAProxy 1.5 init script does not terminate processes

2015-09-17 Thread Robie Basak
Louis,

I can't sponsor your debdiff into backports, but be careful of ordering
issues in your patch. clean() should be defined before the trap is set,
and tmp should be defined before any point that clean() could be called.
In general you should quote "$tmp" as well in case it ends up with
spaces (eg. if $TMPDIR has a space in it).

Thanks for reporting this bug.

Why do you feel this is a bug in lxc? Did you run the sample
program inside a container? Since apparmor profiles cannot be nested
and containers by default run confined, you would indeed not be able
to switch profiles inside a container.

Please show us precisely what you did and what you expected to happen.

2015-09-17 Thread David Cox
Hi Robie,

Thanks for your reply. I did see the messages about configuration files
but can honestly say, 'it wasn't me guv'. I didn't actually know that
mySQL had been installed until I got the update error about
inconsistencies in the package. I agree though that on the surface this
looks more like user error than a bug and will try to understand, within
reason of time and sanity, how this situation arose. Failing that I'll
backup and re-install Xubuntu and see what the vanilla version has
installed.

Thanks again for your reply,

Best regards,

David

[Bug 1496877] [NEW] apparmor profile fails to load in Ubuntu 15.04

2015-09-17 Thread rajasec
Public bug reported:

With the latest Ubuntu 15.04 Vivid( Kernel 3.19), I tried to ran the
sample program for aa_change_profile from the man page. Whenever I tried
to execute the program, it says No such file or directory. I ran strace
for this program, whenever aa_change_profile is called, looks like
changeprofile is prefixed with profile. Not sure whether it is intended
from asprintf called from aa_change_profile

strace output
write(3, "changeprofile i_cant_be_trusted_"..., 39) = -1 ENOENT (No such file

[Bug 1496223] Re: squid3 FTBFS due to linux-libc-dev and libc6-dev headers mismatch

** Description changed:

- Note: currently squid3 fails due to libecap3-dev dependency, this is

  Tried to ignore "#include linux/netfilter.h" in src/ip/Intercept.cc:99
to no avail as build fails later on due to missing "SO_ORIGINAL_DST" in
Intercept.cc. Removing arpa and netinet header inclusions also lead to
eventual build failures due to missing symbols.

So far I have found no way to have squid linking solely to either the
kernel or libc without disabling netfilter altogether.

[Bug 1335391] Re: etckeeper with git breaks update-manager

2015-09-17 Thread Borim
I think the two bugs are only related. In #1267564 every change with apt,
synaptic or update-manager leads to an error, as username and email are not
set. As changing packages require root privilege the username and email have to
be configured for the root login.
When this is done altering packages with apt, synaptic works. Until now I had
never a problem when using apt or synaptic.

This bug report is about a problem with the update-manager and
etckeeper. Although username and email are set in git for the root
login, updating packages with the update-manager fails sometimes. Most
of the time the updates are applied without any errors.

[Bug 1496960] [NEW] webhook reporter posts url encoded data not json data

2015-09-17 Thread Scott Moser
Public bug reported:

Ricardo was trying to tie reporting into maas and found
that it is posting things like:

timestamp=1442509672.620882=SUCCESS=cloudinit=running+modules+for+final_type=finish=modules-final

rather than posting json data representing that same stuff, as curtin is doing.
Need to change cloud-init to be in line with what curtin is doing and maas
expects.

[Bug 1382481] Re: [SRU] Support for CloudStack's basic networking in Precise

2015-09-17 Thread Ben Howard
Hi Vincent, I've submitted an upload for -proposed along with another
fix. Once the fix lands in -proposed, can you please complete the
verification steps?

** Also affects: cloud-init (Ubuntu Precise)
   Importance: Undecided
   Status: New

** Changed in: cloud-init (Ubuntu)
   Status: New => Fix Released

** Description changed:

  SRU Justification
+
+ ** SRU for 12.04 only **

[IMPACT] Users of a CloudStack platform using basic networking are
unable to retrieve user data because they query the default gateway
instead of the virtual router. With basic networking, the default
gateway is not the virtual router (it could be any router). Without user
data, the VM is left unconfigured without any SSH key to login.

  [TEST CASE]
  1. Spawn an Ubuntu Precise VM.
  2. Install the fixed .deb.
  3. rm /var/lib/cloud
  4. reboot
  5. Check userdata is now correctly retrieved (in
/var/lib/cloud/instances*/cloud-config.txt)

  [REGRESSION POTENTIAL]
   - Inexistant for non CloudStack source.
   - Need testing for CloudStack with advanced networking.
   - Only a backport of what is already working fine in Trusty.

  [ORIGINAL REPORT]
cloud-init in Precise is unable to handle CloudStack because it tries to
query the default gateway instead of the virtual router. This is fixed in later
versions of cloud-init but it would be convenient to backport the fix in the
precise-updates. Attached is a patch fixing that. Tested with CloudStack 4.3
and works fine.

[Bug 1481388] Re: NTP : Use-after-free in routing socket code after dropping root

2015-09-17 Thread Simon Déziel
Eric, I don't know if that's a good test case but on my patched Trusty
box:

  root@xeon:~# uname -a
  Linux xeon 3.13.0-63-generic #103-Ubuntu SMP Fri Aug 14 21:42:59 UTC 2015
x86_64 x86_64 x86_64 GNU/Linux
  root@xeon:~# sysctl net.core.wmem_max=4650
  net.core.wmem_max = 4700
  root@xeon:~# sysctl net.core.rmem_max=2400
  net.core.rmem_max = 2400
  root@xeon:~# (ip -4 ro ; ip -6 ro) | wc -l
  43
  root@xeon:~# (ip -4 a; ip -6 a) | grep -c inet
  34
  root@xeon:~# ip link | grep -c link
  23
  root@xeon:~# dpkg -l | awk '{if ($2 == "ntp") print $3}'
  1:4.2.6.p5+dfsg-3ubuntu2.14.04.4
  root@xeon:~# /etc/init.d/ntp restart
  root@xeon:~# netstat -puant | grep -c ntpd
  36

Then syslog shows nothing abnormal. It says "Listen normally on
{2..35}". FYI, many of those interfaces a vnetX interfaces belonging to
VMs so I don't know if they really count. Trying to lower {r,w}mem_max
even more result in "Invalid argument". Please let me know if I'm doing
something wrong.

[Bug 1497087] [NEW] updates from trusty to vivid will fail when juju-core is installed

2015-09-17 Thread Seth Arnold
Public bug reported:

juju 1.18.1 is in trusty-release
Juju 1.22.6 is in trusty-updates
Juju 1.22.1 is in vivid-release, meaning upgrades from updated trusty to vivid
fail
Juju 1.22.6 is in wily

As a result of these version numbers, a fully-updated trusty system
should fail to upgrade to vivid due to the incorrect juju versioning.

Thanks

 Importance: Undecided

juju 0.7 is still available in wily. Is it too late to remove it?

[Bug 1495895] Re: Unable to attach rados block device to instances

2015-09-17 Thread Martin Pitt
Can you please clarify the status here for sponsoring?
qemu_system_common_depend_on_qemu_block_extra.debdiff seems a bit harsh
-- the whole point of splitting out a separate binary is that you
*don't* have to have it installed all the time, no? So maybe a
Recommends: or Suggests:? But AFAIUI this isn't actually the root of the
problem, but it's the apparmor violation in the second patch
(libvirt_qemu_block_extra_apparmor_update.debdiff )? I'm going to upload
the latter as that looks straightforward.
