[Bug 1394403] Re: RewriteRule of "^$" is broken
Thanks for the test case, that works really well. Sorry that the next commit in upstream was not included in the SRU, I should have caught that. At the version that's in the repos now I do see a change in behaviour in the log files between when 'DirectoryCheckHandler Off' is set and when it is set on. With DirectoryCheckHandler On I get: http://paste.ubuntu.com/12551255 And with it set to Off I get: http://paste.ubuntu.com/12551264 So to me it looks like the issue is resolved, but I will prepare a new debdiff with the rest of the upstream fix tomorrow. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1394403 Title: RewriteRule of "^$" is broken To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/apache2/+bug/1394403/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1481556] Re: [needs-packaging] 1.24.6 is not packaged in wily
I certify that juju 1.24.6 is suitable for local charm development and testing using both trusty and wily containers. Users of wily juju 1.24.6 can create new environments in private and public clouds. Wily juju 1.24.6 can maintain environments back to 1.18.1 (including 1.22.6 which wily currently has). Upgrades of clients and environments from juju 1.22.6 to 1.24.6 work without need of configuration changes. Wily juju 1.24.6 can manually provision environments and add-machines. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to juju-core in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1481556 Title: [needs-packaging] 1.24.6 is not packaged in wily To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/juju-core/+bug/1481556/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

To reproduce (s. attachment): vhost bla.conf (requires a2enmod proxy_http) enables RewriteEngine/RewriteLogging and Proxy DocumentRoot /var/www/bla /var/www/bla/.htaccess: RewriteRule ^(.*)$ http://10.110.110.29/$1 [P] no other files in /var/www/bla/ request / (as in attached reproduce-1394403.sh): $ (printf "GET / HTTP/1.0\r\nHost: bla\r\n\r\n"; sleep 1) | netcat localhost 80 in the ErrorLog (/var/log/apache2/bla_error.log) you can see that after the first go-ahead with proxy request proxy:http://10.110.110.29/ [OK] mod_rewrite is called a second time for the same request, but this time with /index.html instead of just / This is from mod_dir not honoring the final decision of mod_rewrite ([P]). [Bug 1494602] Re: qemu-system-x86 nested virtualisation is broken on AMD system
So this quite likely might be a "feature" that got introduced with qemu 2.2: commit 75d373ef9729bd22fbc46bfd8dcd158cbf6d9777 Author: Eduardo Habkost Date: Fri Oct 3 16:39:51 2014 -0300 target-i386: Disable SVM by default in KVM mode Make SVM be disabled by default on all CPU models when in KVM mode. Nested SVM is enabled by default in the KVM kernel module, but it is probably less stable than nested VMX (which is already disabled by default). Add a new compat function, x86_cpu_compat_kvm_no_autodisable(), to keep compatibility on previous machine-types. I saw both machine types (pc-i440fx-trusty and pc-i440fx-utopic) mentioned in some xml configs. Not sure which is which. Might be worth checking the config in the currently not working case and if that is not trusty, try to replace it with that. -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to qemu in Ubuntu. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1494602 Title: qemu-system-x86 nested virtualisation is broken on AMD system To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/qemu/+bug/1494602/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

[Bug 1494602] Re: qemu-system-x86 nested virtualisation is broken on AMD system
Did I understand this right to be a combination of roughly 14.04 (Trusty) as base with (probably both through the cloud archive) a libvirt version that appears to closest match with 15.04 (Vivid) and qemu at 15.10 (Wily) level? Unfortunately I cannot recreate the same results as I only got a fam 10h model 09h host. For that I get the svm flag inside the guest on native Trusty, Vivid, and Wily. However nested is actually broken for all as cpuid function 800a seems not implemented in any qemu version (2.0.0 +dfsg-2ubuntu1.18 ... 1:2.3+dfsg-5ubuntu6). I have to check what the G4 type (from fam 16h model 02h) would yield. Just also wondering whether in the case of not dropping svm the kvm module actually loads or also fails on cpuid 800Ah.
[Bug 1481737] Re: HAProxy init script does not work correctly with nbproc configuration option
** Description changed: + [SRU justification] + The sysVinit script does not completely stop processes when nbproc > 1 + + [Impact] + Stopping haproxy without this fix leaves all but one process running + + [Fix] + Use temporary pidfile in a loop containing one single PID as the --pid option is not available for start-stop-daemon. + + [Test Case] + Set nbproc > 4 in /etc/haproxy/haproxy.cfg + resart haproxy & verify that there is more than one haproxy process + Run : + $ ps aux | grep haproxy | grep -v grep | wc -l + 4 + $ service haproxy stop + $ ps aux | grep haproxy | grep -v grep | wc -l + + Without the patch, the result of the last command will be 3. With the + fix, it will be 0 + + [Regression] + The regression risk is in the use of a temporary file instead of the start-stop-daemon option. + + It has been tested with TMPDIR="/tmp/My Dir" to check for spaces in + directory names. + + [Original description of the problem] In case you have more than one process enabled in the haproxy config, the init script fails to stop all of those processes. So to clarify you need to have this in your haproxy.cfg: """ ... global - maxconn 32000 - ulimit-n65536 - userhaproxy - group haproxy - nbproc 2 + maxconn 32000 + ulimit-n65536 + userhaproxy + group haproxy + nbproc 2 ... """ the problem is more visible if you set the nbproc to higher number. service haproxy stop --> will only stop on of the haproxy processes. The problem is so that start-stop-daemon can't handle pid files with multiple lines. Only stopping the first one. HAProxy does write all the pids started by itself into the pid file, so the problem is not in HAProxy, but in the start-stop-daemon or more likely in the init scrip of haproxy. One solution or workaround is to remove pidfile option of start-stop-daemon in the init script, than it wil work as killall and will stop the haproxy processes properly. To proof you can try this sequence: service haproxy start #if its not running ps ax | grep haproxy | grep -v grep | wc -l #this should report 2 service haproxy restart ps ax | grep haproxy | grep -v grep | wc -l #this will report 3 The workaround as a diff: - root@ubi1:/opt# diff /etc/init.d/haproxy /etc/init.d/haproxy.orig + root@ubi1:/opt# diff /etc/init.d/haproxy /etc/init.d/haproxy.orig 62c62 < --retry 5 --exec $HAPROXY || ret=$? --- > --retry 5 --pidfile $PIDFILE --exec $HAPROXY || ret=$? extra infos: root@ubi1:/opt# lsb_release -rd Description:Ubuntu 14.04.3 LTS Release:14.04 root@ubi1:/opt# apt-cache policy haproxy haproxy: - Installed: 1.4.24-2ubuntu0.2 - Candidate: 1.4.24-2ubuntu0.2 - Version table: - 1.5.3-1~ubuntu14.04.1 0 - 100 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-backports/main amd64 Packages - *** 1.4.24-2ubuntu0.2 0 - 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main amd64 Packages - 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status - 1.4.24-2 0 - 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages + Installed: 1.4.24-2ubuntu0.2 + Candidate: 1.4.24-2ubuntu0.2 + Version table: + 1.5.3-1~ubuntu14.04.1 0 + 100 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-backports/main amd64 Packages + *** 1.4.24-2ubuntu0.2 0 + 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty-updates/main amd64 Packages + 100 /var/lib/dpkg/status + 1.4.24-2 0 + 500 http://us.archive.ubuntu.com/ubuntu/ trusty/main amd64 Packages ** Patch added: "lp1494141_fix_stop_failure.debdiff" https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/haproxy/+bug/1481737/+attachment/4473139/+files/lp1494141_fix_stop_failure.debdiff -- You received this bug notification because you are a member of Ubuntu Server Team, which is subscribed to the bug report. https://bugs.launchpad.net/bugs/1481737 Title: HAProxy init script does not work correctly with nbproc configuration option To manage notifications about this bug go to: https://bugs.launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/haproxy/+bug/1481737/+subscriptions -- Ubuntu-server-bugs mailing list Ubuntu-server-bugs@lists.ubuntu.com Modify settings or unsubscribe at: https://lists.ubuntu.com/mailman/listinfo/ubuntu-server-bugs

Hi, apparently only part of the fix was included, http://svn.apache.org/viewvc?view=revision&revision=1557641 seems to be missing. That is the part that keeps mod_dir from firing when mod_rewrite just fired. Rewrites in .htaccess are still affected after upgrade to 2.4.7-1ubuntu4.6.
