Hi team cannonical,

Do we have any update on this bug?
Has the fix from upstream been included?

Thanks,

[Bug 1471462] Re: On bootup smartd reports FailedReadSmartSelfTestLog but there is no hardware problem

2015-12-08 Thread Christian Franke
It is possibly is a bug in the Intel X25 G1 firmware Intel did never fix
(a similar bug in G2 was fixed). But I don't remember any related report
since the G1 series was introduced in 2009(!).

It is possibly not a smartmontools bug, except if the problem did not
occur with older versions.

Please test if '-F nologdir' changes anything. If not, test whether
another problem occurs if '-l selftest' is not specified: Don't use '-a'
in smartd.conf, use '-H -f -t -l error' instead.

All that could be done in smartmontools is to add another -F (
--firmwarebug) option to suppress accesses to self-test log. If
desired, please create a ticket upstream. But I'm not sure whether this
enhancement is worth the (non-trivial) effort for a single SSD series
introduced 6+ years ago.

2015-12-08 Thread Graham Leggett
This bug appears to be fixed in the dev branch of cloud-init:

http://bazaar.launchpad.net/~cloud-init-dev/cloud-

Hi,

So the thing to look for is any unconverted "mount" calls. It
looks like the lxc_setup_fs() calls to mount_fs() are not being
protected. So the contianer admin could attack through a /proc
symlink.

[Bug 1446906] Re: lxc container with postfix, permission denied on mailq

2015-12-08 Thread Anton Statutov
I encountered this problem too on Ubuntu 15.04 running 3.19.0-39 kernel.
Fixed it by turned off apparmor profile for LXC container by adding
"lxc.aa_profile = unconfined" into container's config. In my case
increased security risk is acceptable, but it's desirable to fix it the
right way. Is there any information in what kernel version it will be
fixed and when this updates will be available in standartd ubuntu
repositories?

working, so I suspect no general VMWare problem.

BTW: Today I updated to VMWare Player 12.1.0 with vmware-tools 10.0.5.
No changes with vmware-tools either, still not working.

2015-12-08 Thread Dyno
i think the situation is more like Ubuntu has not yet update their open-
vm-tools-dkms package to pick the 9.10.3 or 10.0.5 release of open-vm-
tools from github.

when you trying to install vmware-tools shipped with vmware player, if
it detect there is open-vm-tools installed (released by Ubuntu) then it
will not replace it as we are in favor of the distro packaged one.

> dpkg -l open-vm-tools-dkms
the one in the repository is still 9.10.2 ... i have not try the PPA yet.

[Bug 1299075] [NEW] SSL SNI support broken in python2

2015-12-08 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

requests.exceptions.SSLError: hostname 'foo' doesn't match either of
'example.com'

In order to support `SNI`_ in python 2.6/2.7 you need to install additional
packages:
 * `pyOpenSSL`, a Python wrapper module around the OpenSSL library.
 * `pyasn1`, ASN.1 types and codecs.
 * `ndg-httpsclient`, enhanced HTTPS support for httplib and urllib2.

The first two are available (python-openssl and python-pyasn1), while
the last is missing.

Installing it with "pip install ndg-httpsclient". requests is able to
make SSL requests to servers with SNI.

It would be great if ndg-httpsclient would be packaged and python-
requests installed it by default.

[Bug 1524165] [NEW] merge with debian

2015-12-08 Thread Michael Hudson-Doyle
Public bug reported:

I'm attaching a debdiff that merges the latest version from Debian. Well
sort of: it also includes a pile of things that should really be in
Debian, but haven't been fixed there yet -- see the list of Debian bugs
mentioned in the changelog and the patches in them. But it gets the
rewritten debian/rules from Debian, which is much simpler and clearer.

I've uploaded this to my ppa at
https://launchpad.net/~mwhudson/+archive/ubuntu/ppa/+packages so it at
least builds on amd64, i386 and ppc64el and I've stared at the debdiffs
for the amd64 debs and they look OK to me.

Use proper config option to connect to keystone

Earlier, quotas used to authenticate to endpoint from not required
option located in keymgr.encryption_auth_url. Now, the required
auth_uri option from config file is used to authenticate to
keystone.

I just tried again with two logical CPUs and the core set to "Westmere"

related specifically to "[x] Copy host CPU configuration" being checked.
Here's the /proc/cpuinfo from the "virtual Westmere" where it works:
