caused by:

Preparing to replace slapd 2.4.21-0ubuntu5.5 (using

  Dumping to /var/backups/slapd-2.4.21-0ubuntu5.5:

[Bug 571752] Re: slapd upgrades don't add frontend ACLs for base="" and cn=subschema

2015-12-26 Thread Ryan Tandy
Fixed in natty and later, looks like.

openldap (2.4.23-5) unstable; urgency=high
[...]
  * debian/slapd.scripts-common, debian/slapd.postinst: on upgrade from
versions <= 2.4.23-4, explicitly grant access to cn=Subschema, which
otherwise is blocked by our added olcAccess settings. Closes: #596326.
  * Likewise, grant access to dn.exact="" so that base dn autodiscovery
works as intended. Closes: #596049.

[Bug 990892] Re: package slapd 2.4.28-1.1ubuntu4 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2015-12-26 Thread Ryan Tandy
There isn't enough information (would need debconf info) to say for
sure, but this is most likely caused by slapd/domain ending with a dot,
or otherwise causing olcSuffix to end up containing an unacceptable
character. The former case has been fixed in wily and later.

Experiencing after update to 15.10

As upstart is replaced by systemd, I changed the /sbin/status to use the

#!/bin/bash
/usr/sbin/service $1 status

[Bug 1529355] [NEW] authzprovideralias-defined authz provider can't be used in Ubuntu14

2015-12-26 Thread Hikari Kobayashi
Public bug reported:

Recently I updated my server from Ubuntu 12.03 LTS to Ubuntu14.03 LTS,
And I found the problem of Apache 2.4.7.
It is thought that Apache2.4.7 doesn't include authzprovideralias-defined authz
provider.
So I can't set the systemuser's account to belong to Multiple organizations.
Since Apacahe2.4.11 includes authzprovideralias-defined authz provider,
I want you to make the same correspondence to Apache2.4.7.

[Bug 1529418] [NEW] package python-html5lib 0.999-3~ubuntu1 failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 1

2015-12-26 Thread OldeFoxx
Public bug reported:

Trying to get python 3.4 set up. Despite posts saying python and pip
are part of Ubuntu 14.04, python is 2.7 and pip is absent I tried oio,
and was told by apt-get as to what to enter to install it. I entered
it, and immediately my install of 14.04 began crashing, keeping me in
chrome browser with two tabs opened: The first, to fill out this bug
report. The second, the one constantly refreshing every 10 seconds, to
report a bug that package python-distlib 0.1.8-1ubuntu1 failed to
install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned
error exit status 1.

I will get this off, then try a restart and see if 14.04 can recover.
Since the package did not install, I don't have the option of removing
or purging it. If necessary, I will try autoremove. Otherwise, I may
be forced to replace my install of 14.04. Not good choices, and does
not say much for the LTS assurance that 14.04 is suppose to have.

[Bug 1529430] [NEW] smbclient comepltely Incompatible with Nintendo 3DS MicroSD Devices

2015-12-26 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

the Linux smbclient is physically incompatible with Nintendo 3ds Devices
the SMB protocol the devices use do not match any existing linux
protocols.

Several attempts were made to connect to a device "3ds1":

Attempt #1: Inside Firefox on Ubuntu 15.10: "smb://3ds1/microSD" does
absolutely nothing.

Attempt #2: from Nautilus using the terminal command "sudo nautilus
smb://3ds1/microSD" throws an error. "Unable to display all the files
"Operation not supported"". Terminal displays several "Bus connection
Refused" errors. Nautilus soft hangs, requiring a manual kill from
terminal.

Attempt #3: from a non-root Nautilus using the terminal command
"nautilus smb://3ds1/microSD". unlike before, you get a login prompt,
which is required since the 3ds device requires a password to login to
the microSD. entering the correct password crashes nautilus. Entering an
incorrect password throws an error "Unsupported NT status".

Attempt #4: manually using smbclient from terminal using the terminal
command "smbclient 3ds1/microSD". after entering the password for
the device, smbclient throws the error "Unsupported NT Status". running
"smbclient -L 3ds1/microSD" throws instead
"NT_STATUS_INVALID_NETWORK_RESPONSE".

Final Attempt #5: forcing a CIFS mount using the mount terminal command
"mount -t cifs 3ds1/MicroSD /media/3ds -o
username=axil,password=abc123,nounix" fails instantly. the following is
given from the command "dmesg | tail":

[76742.710850] Key type cifs.spnego registered
[76742.710855] Key type cifs.idmap registered
[76742.711000] CIFS VFS: Malformed UNC in devname.

[79717.386602] CIFS VFS: Malformed UNC in devname.
[79770.039655] CIFS VFS: Malformed UNC in devname.

certain users have been able to get mount to attempt to load it but it
stalls during the mount procedure, or it breaks when an "ls" command is
entered into terminal.

It would appear that nautilus can't handle whatever smbclient protocol
is being fed by the 3ds. this device works under windows perfectly. the
device is not at fault. all linux users with 3ds devices are reporting
similar issues.

Release version:

Description:Ubuntu 15.10
Release:15.10

smbclient:
  Installed: 2:4.1.17+dfsg-4ubuntu3
  Candidate: 2:4.1.17+dfsg-4ubuntu3

 2:4.1.17+dfsg-4ubuntu2 0

i expected nautilus to see the device in the "browse network"
subirectory, but it fails to appear, along with smbclient not being able
to recognize the device at all.
