[Bug 1534544] [NEW] Package mysql-server-5.6 should Depend: bsdutils for /usr/bin/logger in .postinst

2016-01-15 Thread TJ
Public bug reported:

A user reported, for 15.04 Vivid (which appears to continue to affect
all releases to 16.04), on a "minimal installation" a failure of the
-server post-install script. This appears to be due to a missing
dependency on 'bsdutils' which contains '/usr/bin/logger'

debian/mysql-server-5.6.postinst contains the following fragment which
is used on the right side of pipes:

# This command can be used as pipe to syslog. With "-s" it also logs to stderr.
ERR_LOGGER="logger -p daemon.err -t mysqld_safe -i"

The installation error was:

invoke-rc.d: Unit mysql.service is masked

[Bug 1384503] Re: rsync fails on large files with compression

2016-01-15 Thread André Freitas
I am also suffering from this bug with a 1GB file with the --compress
flag in Ubuntu 14.04 with Rsync 3.1.0. The bug is pretty consistent and
after I removed the compress flag I got no more broken pipes.

I will try to make this bug reproducible with Docker and publish here.

Hi, I have just published a docker compose stack to test this issue:
https://github.com/NDrive/rsync-compress-bug

Actually, I couldn't reproduce the bug with success. Maybe it only
happens in some certain files.

2016-01-15 Thread Thomas Hood
First, it appears that NetworkManager doesn't handle the error well and
retries without sleeping. Needs fixing.

Separate issue: Why is the error occurring on your machine? Why do you
get "dnsmasq[30613]: failed to create listening socket for 127.0.1.1:
Address already in use"?

I accidentally changed the status of bug 1315565 from "confirmed" to
"bug released". Since I am not the original submitter I cannot change it

How do I fix this?

upstream version before that

2016-01-15 Thread Sebastien Bacher
@Ryan, thanks for the patch. Is there any reason the change should be Ubuntu
specific? If not having a Debian/upstream bug reference would be nice.
Other minor nitput otherwise, you used spaces instead of tab for identation
(it's visible when looking at the diff e.g in firefox, the lines are not
aligned), maybe you could fix that?

[Bug 1524165] Re: merge with debian

2016-01-15 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
This bug was fixed in the package golang - 2:1.5.2-1ubuntu1

---
golang (2:1.5.2-1ubuntu1) xenial; urgency=low

  * Merge from Debian unstable (LP: #1524165). Remaining changes:
- d/patches/armhf-elf-header.patch (see upstream bug
  https://github.com/golang/go/issues/7094)
- debian/copyright: updated copyright file to fix some lintian warnings
  (see Debian bug #807304)
- Build empty golang-go and golang-src packages on architectures without
  golang support and depend on gccgo instead (see Debian bug #780355)
- Do not distribute un-built from source race detector runtime files and
  recommend golang-race-detector-runtime instead (see Debian bug #807455)
- debian/source/lintian-overrides: silence some extra source-missing false
  positives.
- Breaks/Replaces: older golang-golang-x-tools, not Conflicts, to ensure
  smooth upgrades.
  * Dropped changes, included upstream:
- d/patches/qemu-compat.patch
- d/patches/support-new-relocations.patch
  * Add a patch to avoid build failures:
- d/patches/skip-userns-tests-when-chrooted.patch (see Debian bug #807303)
  * Do not include race enabled packages in golang-go deb (see Debian bug
#807294)

golang (2:1.5.2-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Update to 1.5.2 upstream release (Closes: #807136)

golang (2:1.5.1-4) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Add Conflicts to force newer golang-go.tools too (Closes: #803559)

golang (2:1.5.1-3) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Remove architecture qualification on golang-go Build-Depend now that
golang-go is available for more architectures.

golang (2:1.5.1-2) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Add Conflicts to force newer golang-golang-x-tools (Closes:
#802945).

golang (2:1.5.1-1) unstable; urgency=medium

  * Upload to unstable.
  * Update to 1.5.1 upstream release (see notes from experimental uploads for
what's changed).
  * Skip tests on architectures where the tests fail.

[Bug 1534208] Re: Please merge 1.9.9-1 (main) from Debian Unstable (main)

2016-01-15 Thread Thomas Ward
** Description changed:

  Please merge nginx 1.9.9-1 from Debian into Ubuntu. There are multiple
  packaging changes, which fix bugs or update third-party plugins which
  need updated.

  --

  NGINX 1.9.9-0ubuntu1 was uploaded directly to Ubuntu due to Debian
  dragging their heels with updating the package in Debian. When it
  became fairly clear that Debian was extremely slow to update, and was
  almost three months behind Nginx upstream, 1.9.9-0ubuntu1 was uploaded
  directly to the repositories.

  The Debian changelog detailing the changes including the new upstream
  release are as follows:

  nginx (1.9.9-1) unstable; urgency=medium

    [ Michael Lustfield ]
    * debian/nginx-common.nginx.logrotate:
  + Switching logrotate to 14 days. (Closes: #805322)

    [ Christos Trochalakis ]
    * New upstream release (1.9.9).
    * debian/modules/nginx-lua:
  + Update nginx-lua to v0.10.0.

   -- Christos Trochalakis   Thu, 14 Jan 2016
  10:40:35 +0200

  Note that of this changelog, the nginx-lua module update and the changes
  to the logrotate file are the only changes in Debian that are missing
  from the Ubuntu package currently, and need merged in.

  Build tests will be underway in

  eventually, but build tests outside of my sbuild are still useful.
  Build tests won't go here until i've made sure it doesn't die in my

[Bug 1388091] Re: winbindd does not provide geocs to libnss_winbind in ad configuration with winbind nss info = template (default)

2016-01-15 Thread msaxl
in samba 4.3.3 in ubuntu xenial the problem is resolved.

The upstream bug is/was https://bugzilla.samba.org/show_bug.cgi?id=10440
As you can see there the proper fix is quite big, maybe not the best idea to
backport to 4.1,
but at least in the next lts version of ubuntu it should be fixed

[Bug 1522422] Re: Update to php 7.0

2016-01-15 Thread Shu Hung (Koala)
After studying php-fpm architecture, I think the best handling is to
support php7 as php7-fpm. Instead of using mod_php, Apache will have to
connect to php7 through mod_proxy_fcgi. With proper setting, one can
have both php5-fpm and php7-fpm run in parallel. The Apache server can
then support both PHP version at the same time.

OK, OK. I was here because I didn't find php7-fpm in the current
repository. And I really want to use it.

I've manually compiled it for my use, but I want an official package
that will automatically have updates and patches.

[Bug 1533839] Re: vms shutting down on libvirt upgrade

Indeed, the following debdiff to init-system-helpers fixes it for me

don't use the debdiff verbatim) :

[Bug 1007273] Re: autofs does not start automatically after reboot

2016-01-15 Thread Naoyuki Tai
I'm a software developer, and my office uses NIS and autofs. Everyone
gets RHEL if I let my IT dept. installs, but I chose to install Ubuntu
Mate 14.04 LTS by myself.

I must tell you I'm having a hell of a time. First off, when I
misconfigured /etc/yp.conf, the upstart hangs. I had to boot up the live
CD many times to trouble shoot. Finally I got it sorted out.

Then, autofs does not work with NIS. I'm letting my IT install RHEL.

[Bug 1532310] Re: fence_cdu returns exit status of 2 when querying the power state of CDU Sentry Switch (PDU) when it is OFF

2016-01-15 Thread Newell Jensen
Looking at the source code for fence-agents method fence_action has:

elif options["-o"] == "status":
print "Status: " + status.upper()
if status.upper() == "OFF":
result = 2

Thus, this is not a fence_cdu bug and rather an artifact of how fence-agents is
implementing their fence_action method, which fence_cdu is using here.
