Can you clarify the status 'incomplete' for this bug?
Is that indeed an information request for submitter (where, please) or just for
some other change you'll do on the description field?

Thanks,

[Bug 1503034] Re: Autofs 5.1.1-1ubuntu2 crashes with segfault on startup

2016-02-04 Thread Brian Murray
Hello Adam, or anyone else affected,

Accepted autofs into wily-proposed. The package will build now and be
available at
https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/autofs/5.1.1-1ubuntu2.1 in a few
hours, and then in the -proposed repository.

Please help us by testing this new package. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/Testing/EnableProposed for documentation how to
enable and use -proposed. Your feedback will aid us getting this update
out to other Ubuntu users.

If this package fixes the bug for you, please add a comment to this bug,
mentioning the version of the package you tested, and change the tag
from verification-needed to verification-done. If it does not fix the
bug for you, please add a comment stating that, and change the tag to
verification-failed. In either case, details of your testing will help
us make a better decision.

Further information regarding the verification process can be found at
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/QATeam/PerformingSRUVerification . Thank you in
advance!

** Changed in: autofs (Ubuntu Wily)

I could reproduce the problem in that scenario by using break=multipath in the
kernel cmdline
(which forces LVM udev rules to run before multipath discovery).

> I suppose it may be that I'm using a partitioning that happens to
work?

I'd expect it to fail in any case with LVM on top of multipath devices,
and LVM scan/volume activation happening before multipath discory
(root cause: LVM locking an individual path before multipath takes it).

[Bug 1473691] Re: squid: Update to latest upstream release (3.5)

2016-02-04 Thread Seth Arnold
e-Vent, we rated this issue "low" because:

- snmp is not enabled by default
- squid's snmp listener can listen on specific interfaces
- local iptables / ufw rules probably already allow only specific services on
the hosts that run squid
- network firewalls / routers probably already allow only specific services on
the networks that run squid

In general allowing untrusted access to SNMP is not a good idea
regardless if this is fixed.

We have limited resources and we have to prioritize the work we do
accordingly. If you have the time and inclination to prepare and test a
patch for this issue, we'd be happy to sponsor updates. See
https://wiki.ubuntu.com/SecurityTeam/UpdatePreparation for more details.

Thanks

[Bug 1538775] Re: multipath-tools-boot relies on scsi_wait_scan module, fails multipath setup

2016-02-04 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
Stuart,

I'm aware of that, but there are two different issues at play here: the
detection and scanning of drives, and the fact that scsi_wait_scan is
still in the script. The upload should likely fix both; but I'm closing
this bug here because it's about scsi_wait_scan. The other bugs are
referenced in the uploaded package, linked in the previous comment.

[Bug 1540965] Re: Support Joyent lx-brand environment in smartos datasource

2016-02-04 Thread Robert C Jennings
SRU templated added and ready for upload/sponsorship.

Scott, can you ack the upload?
Ben, can you sponsor this?

Thanks.

** Description changed:

+ [Impact]
+
+ * Cloud-init does not support the datasource presented to LX-Brand
+zones in SmartOS. Without this support cloud-init does not work
+on the Joyent cloud platform's container service.
+
+ * The metadata is provided in the same format as already supported
+for KVM-based instances for the SmartOS datasource (with
+communication over a serial port). For LX-Brand zones the
+metadata is accessed via a socket file.
+
+ [Test Case]
+
+ * Install cloud-init on an lx-brand zone image and
+run 'cloud-init init'. No metadata will be found without
+this patch.
+
+ * With the patched cloud-init, run 'cloud-init init' on the
+new lx-brand zones images. The metadata should be discovered
+and the instance should be recognized as being provisioned.
+Perform the same testing on existing KVM-based SmartOS instances
+to ensure there is no regression.
+
+ [Regression Potential]
+
+ * [Trusty only] This SRU backports support for the V2 metadata format
+that has been present since the Vivid release. This is well tested
+code and has no user-facing impact. This was done because the
+V2 datasource allows for serial or socket communication. The existing
+Joyent datasource uses the serial port provided in KVM instances,
+however LX-brand zones have a socket instead @
+/native/.zonecontrol/metadata.sock. Additionally the V2 datasource
+provides checksums and response length fields that allow for
+validation of results. Additional testing was performed on Trusty
+SmartOS and KVM instances to validate these changes.
+
+ * To keep code common for KVM (serial) and LX-Brand (socket)
+communication the code had to switch to read byte-by-byte from
+the metadata source file object to avoid reading past the end of
+input on the socket which would block indefinitely. This is a change
+from using readline and will be slower but not significantly so.
+
+ * This builds on the existing SmartOS datasource to enable LX-Brand.
+There is risk that this will break the datasouce on existing KVM
+instances. To mitigate this risk testing has been performed on
+both environments with Trusty, Vivid (out of support today),
+Wily, and Xenial.
+
+ [Other Info]
+
+ * This is python 2/3 byte/string safe on Vivid, Wily, and Trusty
+where cloud-init supports python 3.
+
+ Original Description
+
The Joyent Metadata Protocol Specification (Version 2)[1] allows for
serial or socket communication. The existing Joyent datasource uses the
serial port provided in KVM instances, however LX-brand zones have a
  socket instead @ /native/.zonecontrol/metadata.sock.

Detecting we are in a Joyent LX-brand zone is possible by looking at
'/bin/uname -v' which will report "BrandZ virtual linux" or checking for the
existence of a /native mount where '/native/usr/bin/uname -s' reports
  SunOS.

[Bug 1486370] Re: ISST-LTE: not all mpath device files are symbol link

2016-02-04 Thread Brian Murray
Hello bugproxy, or anyone else affected,

Accepted multipath-tools into trusty-proposed. The package will build
now and be available at https://launchpad.net/ubuntu/+source/multipath-
tools/0.4.9-3ubuntu7.8 in a few hours, and then in the -proposed
repository.

Thank you in
advance!

[Bug 1382774] Re: Postgresql installation for MAAS fails on locales missing language packs

2016-02-04 Thread Mario Splivalo
I'm only able to replicate this when ssh sends over my LC_*, so I end up
on a server not having the locale I'm using on my client.

Weather this is postgres package issue or openssh-client package issue I
do not know.

But this is easily circumvented by commenting out "SendEnv LANG LC_*" in
/etc/ssh/ssh_config on your local workstation.

This is a feature to track DDW support on Qemu/kvm passthrough. This is a
feature to improve performance when using GPUs on virtual machines.

The kernel pieces are already on version 4.2, and now we need the pieces
on qemu.

This should be sent upstream in 2 weeks, and submission URL pasted here.

[Bug 1540965] Re: Support Joyent lx-brand environment in smartos datasource

2016-02-04 Thread Robert C Jennings
SmartOS: Add support for Joyent LX-Brand Zones

LX-brand zones on Joyent's SmartOS use a different metadata source
(socket file) than the KVM-based SmartOS virtualization (serial port).
This patch adds support for recognizing the different flavors of
virtualization on SmartOS and setting up a metadata source file object.
After the file object is created, the rest of the code for the datasource
can remain common.

This patch reads the metadata byte-by-byte rather than using readline
because we can not perform a readline on the file-like object for the
socket as this block indefintely waiting for an EOF that is will not be
sent by the host platform. This patch also moves to V2 metadata as it
provides checksum validation and makes reading the metadata much more
reliable.

[Bug 1540401] [PATCH V2] booting with LVM on multipath devices

2016-02-04 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment on attachment From mauri...@br.ibm.com 2016-02-04 10:20
EDT---

Hi Canonical,

Please consider this patch V2 for review.

It includes 2 important changes:
- The '--nr 1-1024' to the partx command.
- Built on top of the patches for multipathd/initramfs (LP #1526984) and kpartx
w/ spaces (LP #1432062) -- both required.

Thanks,

[Bug 1526984] Comment bridged from LTC Bugzilla

2016-02-04 Thread bugproxy
--- Comment From mauri...@br.ibm.com 2016-02-04 12:13 EDT---
Hi Mikhail,

(In reply to comment #60)
> Is multipath-tools - 0.5.0-7ubuntu10 going to be available in the repository
> anytime soon? We want to verify the problem is fixed before completing our
> testing for 14.04.4, which we will be done with early next week...

That version is for 16.04 - it is already fix released/available in the
repository.

The version for 14.04.4 (something like 0.4.9-3ubuntu7.) is
not yet fix released/available.

There's no defined date for when it will be made available - but it is
in the list of multipath fixes that Canonical's team is aware of and
working on. Perhaps there will be single update w/ more than 1 bug
fixed.

There's likely a number of tasks on their side as well, and this one is
prioritized as Critical, so things should happen as best as possible.

--- Comment From afana...@us.ibm.com 2016-02-04 12:17 EDT---
Got it, thanks! We'll see if the problem is gone on 16.04 next week.

[Bug 1540401] Re: ISST-LTE: Ubuntu14.04.4 lpar fails to boot after installation: "The disk drive for /boot is not ready yet or not present"

2016-02-04 Thread Mathieu Trudel-Lapierre
This isn't obvious to reproduce. So far, I haven't had the system fail
to boot or fail to mount all partitions. I have been testing *without*
multipath-tools 0.4.9-3ubuntu7.8; so not using multipathd in the
initramfs.

I suppose it may be that I'm using a partitioning that happens to work?

Could you please add the output of: sudo dmsetup ls --tree -o blkdevname

No failure after 20 reboots:

mpath0-part1 (252:2)
 └─mpath0 (252:0)

My test system is indeed a ppc64el qemu VM using spapr-vscsi.

Will setup a new system using snapshot to test with multipath-tools
0.4.9-3ubuntu7.8.

[Bug 1487679] Re: Breaking ordering cycle by deleting job nbd-client.service/start

2016-02-04 Thread Echo Nolan
I have this problem as well, or at least a related one. On my system
systemd resolves the cycle by disabling NetworkManager, so I have no
internet until I systemctl start NetworkManager. Here's the relevant
section of the log:

cycle on network-online.target/start

[Bug 1536969] Re: qemu-system_x86_64 crashes when internal system mount virtio-9p

2016-02-04 Thread Cui Wei
A test script is appended.

This script works on Trusty, Utopic, Vivid and Wily, while crashes on
Xenial.

[Bug 1541736] [NEW] Sync bacula 7.0.5+dfsg-4 (main) from Debian unstable (main)

2016-02-04 Thread Nish Aravamudan
Public bug reported:

Please sync bacula 7.0.5+dfsg-4 (main) from Debian unstable (main) and
demote to universe

Explanation of the Ubuntu delta and why it can be dropped:
  * Switch build-depends back to postgresql-server-dev-all as it is now in
main, to fix FTBFS with 9.1 that has been removed from Utopic.
Explanation: Since we are moving back to universe, this isn't needed
logically. Also the code in Debian has been updated to have this
  build-dep.
  * Update "libtool" harder.
  Explanation: Updated upstream, debian/master#a008d47b.
  * Merge from Debian unstable. Remaining changes:
- d/control: Drop mt-st to suggests so that bacula goes back to main.
Explanation: Not needed since we are moving back to universe.
- d/control: Make mysql the default, install bacula-[director|sd]-mysql
  instead of sqlite3 versions.
Explanation: Not needed as upgrade path will ensure that
bacula-director (provided by bacula-director-mysql) is installed. No
technical reason (beyond preference?) to change the default from
Debian, while in Universe.
- d/rules: Upgrade databases from 12->14 at 5.2.5-0ubuntu6.1 instead
of 5.2.0 as this was missed in Ubuntu.
Explanation: Trusty ships 5.2.6+dfsg-9.1ubuntu3 so we can drop this delta.
- d/control: Add libncurses-dev to build-depends, as the console client
insists on its presence to enable readline support, despite not using it.
Explanation: Fixed in upstream 5.2.8.
- d/rules: Disable fortify source since it was causing
  bacula-director to segfault.
Explanation: Debian src (since c325d924) #undefs _FORTIFY_SOURCE.
- d/control: Switch build-depends postgresql-server-dev-all ->
postgresql-server-dev-9.1 as -all is not in main.
Explanation: Not needed since we are moving back to universe. We
have bumped to version 9.3 regardless, and Trusty and onwards have
at least 9.3.
- d/control: Add liblzo2-dev to build-depends to enable LZO support.
Explanation: Merged upstream.
- Updated debconf templates for bacula-common to be translatable.
Explanation: Not needed since the prior delta for "Store
sd|fd|director passwords in debconf" has been dropped.

Changelog entries since current xenial version 5.2.6+dfsg-9.1ubuntu4:

  * Updated debian/patches/fix-default-config
  * Updated debian/patches/ppc64el-libtoolize.patch
  * Refreshed several patches

  * debian/patches/add-basic-kfreebsd-support.patch:
+ better support for GNU/kFreeBSD ("onefs=no" works) (upstream 2156)
  * don't install systemd related files on non-linux ports
  * Added note to README.Debian about usage of hostnames for listening
addresses (Closes: #679479)
  * Better documentation of password handling on installation. Thanks to
Alberto Fuentes. (Closes: #742228)
  * Fixed typo in sqlite3 database update script. (Closes: #714141)
  * Update Standards-Version to 3.9.6. No changes required.
  * Change linking the docs from bacula to bacula-server. Because these
are both "Architecture: all" it avoids breakage

[Bug 1536969] Re: qemu-system_x86_64 crashes when internal system mount virtio-9p

2016-02-04 Thread Cui Wei
I think this the bug is caused by qemu 2.5 because I install qemu 2.3
(wily version) in to xernial (linux 4.4), and it doesn't crash.
